RRoocc PPrroo™™ 11000000
Congratulations on your purchase of a Fender®Roc•Pro™
1000 amplifier. Both the “combo” and the “head only” are
covered in this manual and all features are the same,
except where noted. Your Roc•Pro 1000 is equipped with
the features that today’s musicians demand:
• Two channels with independent tone controls.
• Both vacuum-tube and solid-state circuits offering the
best of both technologies in one hybrid amplifier.
• A choice of two pre-amplifiers in the drive channel,
using a 12AX7 / ECC83 tube for its well known warmth
of tone.
• 100 watts of power.
• Rear panel effects loop jacks with three output-level settings compatible with pedal and rack-mounted devices.

1. INPUT - Plug in your guitar at this jack.
• NOTE: The Normal channel must be selected for
items 2-6 to function. See DRIVE SELECT (item 14)
2. VOLUME - Adjusts the loudness of the amplifier.
3. MID SHIFT - Switch IN shifts up one octave the frequency range controlled by the MID knob (item 5). This
offers control over a slightly higher range of your signal. Switch OUT shifts the MID range down one octave
to its original position.
4. TREBLE - Adjusts the high frequency level.
5. MID - Adjusts the mid frequency level in the range
selected by the MID SHIFT button (item 3).
6. BASS - Adjusts the low frequency level.
• NOTE: The Drive channel must be selected for items
7-13 and 15 to function. See DRIVE SELECT (item 14).
Either GAIN 1 (Red) OR GAIN 2 (Yellow) can be select-
ed as the active pre-amp in the Drive channel. See
GAIN SELECT (item 8).
7. GAIN 1 - Adjusts the pre-amp level (distortion/sustain)
while the Red pre-amp is active. Lower settings provide a gradual compression distortion and higher settings provide more sustain. GAIN 1 must be used in
conjunction with the Drive channel VOLUME (item 15)
to set the overall volume of the amplifier.
8. GAIN SELECT - One of two pre-amp circuits can be
selected for the Drive channel. Switch OUT selects the
Red Drive channel pre-amp (GAIN 1). Switch IN
selects the Yellow Drive channel pre-amp (GAIN 2).
9. GAIN 2 - Adjusts the pre-amp level (distortion/sustain)
while the Yellow pre-amp is active. Lower settings pro-
vide a gradual compression distortion and higher settings provide more sustain. GAIN 2 must be used in
conjunction with the Drive Channel VOLUME (item 15)
to set the overall volume of the Yellow Drive Channel.

• Quasi-balanced line out jack for connection to sound
equipment.
• E x t e rnal-speaker jack for output to an additional
speaker enclosure.
• Footswitch (included) for remote switching of the
reverb effect, channel selection and gain selection.
• Aluminum chassis to reduce magnetic and radio interference.
• Automatic electric fault protection.
• Classic Fender spring-reverb effect.
• Genuine Tolex®covering for long lasting good looks.
• Rugged metal speaker grill.

10.PRE-AMP INDICATORS - The red LED illuminates while
the Red pre-amp (GAIN 1) is active. The yellow LED
illuminates while the Yellow pre-amp (GAIN 2) is active.
11.TREBLE - Adjusts the post-distortion high frequency
level .
12.MID - Adjusts the middle frequency level.
13.BASS - Adjusts the post-distortion low frequency level.
14.DRIVE SELECT - Switch IN selects the Drive channel.
Switch OUT selects the Normal channel.
15.VOLUME - Adjusts the loudness of the amplifier. Must
be used in conjunction with the currently active preamp GAIN control (1=Red or 2=Yellow).
• NOTE: Both the Normal and Drive channels are affect ed by items 16-20.
16.REVERB - Adjusts the reverb effect level in both channels.
17.EFFECTS MIX - Adjusts the effects (wet) level signal
while using the rear panel effects loop option.
18.FOOTSWITCH (Included) - Plug in the footswitch here.
The footswitch enables switching between Normal and
Drive channels, between Red and Yellow pre-amps
and ON/OFF switching of the REVERB effect.
• NOTE: When plugged in, the footswitch disables the
front panel select buttons. Connect the footswitch
using a speaker grade cord rather than a coaxial guitar
cord.
19.POWER INDICATOR - This LED illuminates when the
amplifier is ON and receiving power.
20.POWER SWITCH - Switches the amplifier ON and OFF.

1. LINE CORD - Connect the power line cord to a
grounded AC receptacle in accordance with the voltage and frequency ratings as listed on the rear panel of
the amplifier.
2. 8 OHM SPEAKER JACK (Combo & Head models) Plug-in connection for external 8 ohm speakers only.
3. 4-OHM ADDITIONAL SPEAKER JACK (Head model
only) - Plug-in connection for a external 4 ohm speaker
or a second 8 Ohm speaker enclosure. The combined
minimum impedance for all speaker enclosures should
be 4 ohms (i.e. two 8 ohm enclosures in parallel).

4. LINE OUT - This jack provides a signal output suitable
for connection to recording and sound reinforcement
equipment. Using a 3-conductor stereo cord will provide a quasi-balanced signal and a 2-conductor mono
cord will provide an unbalanced signal.
5. SEND - Connect cord to external equipment at this
output jack. This unbalanced jack provides a prereverb signal output from the preamp and may be used
to drive effects units in an effects loop, to drive additional amplifiers in a multi-amp set up or as a preamp
send to a mixing console.
6. LEVEL SWITCH - This switch directly effects the SEND
jack (item 5) by boosting or attenuating the signal sent
to the effects. External rack effects usually require
–7dB or +4dB settings. Effects pedals usually require
a –16dB setting.
7. RETURN - Connect cord from external effects devices
at this input jack. Inserting a plug at this jack automatically disconnects the unit’s internal connection
from the pre-amp to the power amp. This jack is prereverb and can also be used as a power amp input.
Plugging into this jack activates the EFFECTS MIX
control on the front panel.
TUBE REPLACEMENT: Roc Pro amplifiers utilize one Fender Special Design 12AX7A vacuum tube. It’s a good idea to keep a spare
tube with the amplifier in case the tube in the Roc Pro should fail and as a test for tube wear. Loss of sound quality due to the tube
reaching the end of its life is very gradual and may not be noticed. Replacing the old tube with your spare and listening for improvement
will tell if the old tube is worn and whether you should replace it and buy a new spare! Replace only with the identical tube type.
