1. Introduction

1.1 Preface

Thank you very much for purchasing FA NTEC MM-F HDL. We hope you will enjoy using it as a
great home entertainment partner. This player has the following functionality.

A/V Output

• HDMI V1.3 for high-definition video and digital audio

• Composite & component video and stereo audio for analog audio-visual connection

• S/PDIF coaxial & optical interface for high-fidelity digital audio

• Adjustable video output resolution (NTSC, PAL, 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p)

1.3 Cautions

The FANTEC MM-FHDL design and manufacture has your safety in mind. In order to safely
and effectively use this player, please read the following before usage.

1.3.1 Usage Cautions

User should not modify this player. If commercial hard disk is bein g used, the environmental
temperature should be within +5℃ ~ +35℃.

1.3.2 Power

The player’s power voltage: DC 12V.
When using this player , please connect the supplied AC adapter or AC adapter cable to the
player’s power jack. When placing the adapter cable, make sure it can not get damaged or be
subject to pressure. To reduce the risk of electric shock, unplug the adapter first before
cleaning it. Never connect the adapter to the player in a humid or dusty area. Do not replace
the adapter or cable’s wire or connector.

1.3.3 Radio Interference

- If not properly shielded, almost all electronic devices will get radio interference. Under some
conditions, your player might get interference.

- The design of this player has followed the FCC/CE standard, and has followed the following
rules:

(1) This player may not cause harmful interference;
(2) This player could accept some interference received including interference that may

cause undesired operation.

1.3.4 Repair

If the player has a problem, you should take it to an appointed repair center and let the
specialists do the repair, never repair the player yourself, you might damage the player or
endanger yourself or your data.

1.3.5 Disposing of the Player

When you dispose of the player, be sure to dispose it appropriately. Some countries may
regulate disposal of electrical device, please consult with your local authority.

1.3.6 Hard Disk Cautions

The player uses an internal hard disk for data storage, in normal case, format or repair is not
required.
You should carefully read the < Frequently Asked Questions > chapter, and check our website
for latest information before formatting the hard disk.

- Physical impact may create bad sector in the hard disk, you can use CHKDSK to fix the
problem.

- All data stored in the player may be lost due to physical impact, electrical shock, power lost,
HDD format etc. Please backup your data.

- It is suggested to do defragment after a long period of usage.

- Regularly backup the data in the hard disk so that it can be recovered in the event of data
corruption or loss. Our company takes no responsibility for loss of dat a stored on the hard disk.

1.3.7 Others

When using this player , please do not let the player come into cont act with water or other liqui d,
if water is accidentally spilled on the player, please use a dry cloth to absorb the spillage.
Electronic products are vulnerable, when using please avoid shaking or hitting the player, and
do not press the buttons too hard.

 Do not let the player come into contact with water or other liquid.
 Do not disassemble the player, repair the player or change the design of the player, any

damage done will not be included in the repair policy.

 Do not press the buttons of the player too hard.
 Avoid hitting the player with hard object, avoid shaking the player, and stay away from

magnetic fields.

 During electrostatic discharge and the strong electromagnetic field, the product will

malfunction, then unplug the power cable and the product will return to normal
performance next time it is powered on.

1.4 Connection

1.4.1 Connecting the Power Supply

(1) Follow the picture and connect the AC adaptor to the player’s DC IN jack;
(2) Follow the picture and plug in the AC adaptor to the power outlet.

1.4.2 Connecting to a PC

(1) Make sure the player is powered on;
(2) Plug in the squarish connector of the USB cable to this player’s USB DEVICE port;
(3) Plug in the rectangular connector of the USB cable to computer.

In this way, you can manage content on the built-in HDD of the player on your local PC.

1.4.3 Connecting a USB Device

(1) Make sure the player is powered on;
(2) Plug in the USB stick or USB HDD etc. to the USB HOST port of this player.

In this way, you can browse contents on the USB device.

1.4.4 Connecting to a TV

1.4.4.1 A/V OUT

(1) Follow the picture and plug in the 3 color connector to the player’s A/V OUT jack;
(2) Follow the picture and plug in the 3 color connector to the TV’ s A/V IN jack.
In this way, you can enjoy the content in the player on TV or other display devices.

1.4.4.2 SCART OUT

(1) Follow the picture and plug one connector on the SCART cable to the player’s SCART
socket;
(2) Follow the picture and plug the other connector on the SCART cable to the TV’s SCART
socket.

1.4.4.3 Y/Pb/Pr Component OUT

(1) Follow the picture and plug in the 3 color connector to the player’s Y/Pb/Pr jack;
(2) Follow the picture and plug in the 3 color connector to the TV’ s Y/Pb/Pr jack.
Audio Connection while using Y/Pb/Pr Video out:
First method: use the audio output from the A/V OUT jack;
Second method: use the audio output from the S/PDIF Coaxial or Optical jack.

1.4.4.4 HDMI OUT

(1) Follow the picture and plug one connector on your HDMI cable to the player’s HDMI jack;
(2) Follow the picture and plug the other connector on your HDMI cable to the TV’s HDMI jack.
Note: The HDMI cable is an optional accessory sold separately.

In this way, you can have the highest quality video and audio via a single cable.

1.4.5 Connecting to an Digital Amplifier

(1) Follow the picture and plug in the RCA connector on your coaxial cable to the player’s
S/PDIF Coaxial jack. Or if you use optical fiber, please plug in the Toslink connector on your
optical fiber to the player’s S/PDIF Optical jack;
(2) Follow the picture and plug in the other connector on your coaxial cabl e or optical fiber to
the digital audio device (digital amplifier or decoder).
Note: Optical fiber and coaxial cable are not supplied.

In this way, you can enjoy powerful Dolby Digital or MPEG sound. (Please refer to ‘3.1
Changing Audio Settings’ for configuration)

1.4.6 Connecting to a LAN

To connect to a LAN (Local Area Netwo r k) you re quire a cat5, cat5e or cat6 n etwork cable (not
supplied).
(1) Connect one of the crystal plugs on the cable to the player’s RJ45 LAN socket;
(2) Connect the other crystal plug on the cable to a RJ45 LAN port on your router, switch, or
hub devices.

1.4.7 Connecting to a WLAN

(1) Make sure the player is powered on;
(2) Plug the Wireless LAN USB Adapter (i.e. Wi-Fi USB Dongle) to the USB HOST port of the
player.

Note: The Wi-Fi Dongle is an optional accessory sold separately. (Please refer to ‘3.3
Changing Network Settings’ for more details about wireless setup)

1.5 Power On / Off

Power On

After connecting the DC IN jack and press the power button on the front panel, the player will
soon enter the home screen, and the power indicator will turn blue.

Power Off

Press the power button on the front panel, the player will soon enter standby mode, and the
power indicator will turn red. Then unplug the power cord to cut of f the power supply.

1.6 Menu Language

The system language of this player can be set to English or other languages. Change the
language you wish in the setup menu, the selected language will take effect immediately.

1.7 HDD Format

For users who wish to install a new SATA HDD into the player, please refer to the following
procedures to format the hard disk on the player before usage.
Note: This page can be also accessed via Setup->System->HDD Format menu.

- Step 1: Select OK on the Warning page, press ENTER to confirm.

- Step 2: Select Format, press ENTER, and then hard disk format will st art.

The formatting procedure will be finished within a few minutes. And then you can use the hard
disk properly on the player.

Note: HDD format will remove all data stored on the hard disk drive. Please take care and
backup your data in advance!

3. Setup Menu

The Setup menu allows you to personalize and configure the preferences for your player.

To select a Setup option:

- Select the Setup icon on the home screen, or press the SETUP button on the remote
control.

- Use the LEFT/RIGHT navigational buttons to select an option, and then press ENTER.

There are five Setup options, including Audio, Video, Network, System, and MISC. Use the
UP/DOWN navigational buttons to select a menu. Press ENTER to confirm. Press RETURN to
cancel and display the previous menu screen.

3.1 Changing Audio Settings

Use this menu to configure audio settings.

Night Mode

- Choose between Off / On / Comfort. If the option is turned on, the audio output volume
will be decreased to make you more comfortable.

Digital Output

- Choose between HDMI LPCM / HDMI RAW / SPDIF LPCM / SPDIF RAW. In raw mode,
Dolby Digital or MPEG sound can be bypa ssed to the HDMI TV or Digital amplifier.

3.2 Changing Video Settings

Use this menu to configure video settings.

Aspect Ratio

- Pan Scan 4:3: Display a wide picture on the entire screen and cuts off the redundant
portions. Select when a standard 4:3 TV is connected.

- Letter Box 4:3: Display a wide picture with two black borders on the top and bo ttom of 4:3
screen. Select when a standard 4:3 TV is conne cted.

- 16:9: Compress the image to convert the whole image. Select when a 16:9 TV is
connected.

Brightness

- Adjust the level of brightness.

Contrast

- Adjust the level of contrast.

TV SYSTEM

- Select to adjust video output resolution: NTSC / PAL / 480P / 576P / 720P 50HZ / 720P
60HZ / 1080I 50HZ / 1080I 60HZ / 1080P 50HZ / 1080P 60HZ.

3.3 Changing Network Settings

Use this menu to configure Ethernet and WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) settings.

Wired LAN Setup

- DHCP IP (AUTO)
Select to obtain IP address automatically.

- FIX IP (MANUAL)
Select to manually input the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and DNS Server

IP Address.

Wireless Setup

- Selecting a connection profile

This player can store up to three wireless network connections. Press ENTER to go to
next step, press RETURN to cancel, and press PLAY to connect.

- Get Connection Mode

Choose between Infrastructure (AP) and Peer to Peer (Ad Hoc). Press ENTER to go to
next step, and press RETURN to cancel.

- Infrastructure (AP)
Infrastructure mode is used to connect computers with wireless network adapters, also
known as wireless clients, to an existing wired network with the help from wireless router
or access point.

Get SSID Name

Press ENTER to go to next step, press RETURN to cancel, and press SELECT to refresh
the SSID list.

Note: In the Security list, WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and WPA (Wi-Fi Protected
Access) means the network is encrypted, i.e. an encryption key is needed to access the
network. NONE means it is an open system network.

Encryption keys can be inputted via the virtual keyboard. Press the navigational buttons to
select, ENTER to input, CAPS to switch between uppercase and lowercase, <- to delete a
character, -> to insert a space, shift to make m ore symbols available, and OK to confirm.

Test connection

The testing process will take for a while, please be patient to wait. If the test is ok, the
network information (Profile Name, IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, etc.) will be
displayed on the screen.

- Peer to Peer (Ad Hoc)
Peer to Peer mode, which is also called Ad Hoc mode or computer-to-computer mode, is
used to connect wireless clients directly together, without the need for a wireless router or
access point.

Ad-Hoc Setup

Press ENTER to go to next step, press RETURN to cancel, and press PLAY to connect.

3.4 Changing System Settings

Use this menu to configure system settings.

Menu Language

- Select to choose the OSD (On-Screen Display) language.

Text Encoding

- Select to set the text encoding option (subtitle display).

Login Control

- Select to turn on / off password protect for the Web server (Neighbor Web).

Extension Info

- Select to install / upgrade / uninstall extended packages: btpd (BitTorrent Protocol
Daemon), samba (file sharing), and unicgi (Web server).

- Install / Upgrade

1) Copy the .ipk files (e.g., btpd_0.0.1_mipsel.ipk, samba_3.0.23c_mipsel.ipk, and

unicgi_0.0.1_mipsel.ipk) to the root directory of a USB stick, and insert it to the USB
HOST port on the player.

2) Select Install / Upgrade and press ENTER to confirm.

- Uninstall
Select Uninstall and press ENTER to confirm.

Note: When the packages are installed properly, you can click Run / Stop to control the
BitTorrent, samba, and Web server services.

System Update

- Select to update the firmware or extension package via a USB stick.

1) Copy ‘install.img’ or extension files to the root directory of a USB stick, and connect it

to the USB HOST port of the player.

2) Press ENTER to confirm.

HDD Format

- Select to format the built-in HDD.

Note: Please take care that all data on the hard disk will be removed after formatting.

System Info

- Select to view system information (firmware version, HDD info, Mac address, etc.)

Restore Default

- Select to restore factory defaults.

3.5 Miscellaneous

Use this menu to adjust miscellaneous settings.

Slide Show Timing

- Select to set the interval time for photo slide show .

Transition Effec t

- Select to set the transition effect for photo slide show.

Background Music

- Select to set the background music options while view pictures: Off / Folder / Playlist.

Screen Saver

- Select to turn on / off screen saver.

Movie Preview

- Select to turn on / off movie preview in the browser menu.

Resume Playback

- Select to turn on / off resume playback (auto-bookmarking) feature for movies.

4. Browser Menu

The browser menu allows you to browse and play media files stored on USB devices, Local
HDD, Network, UPnP-server, and Playlist. To enter the menu, select the Browser icon on the
home screen, or press the BROWSER button on the remote control.

The following buttons can be used while navigating the browser menu.

4.1 Browsing All

Move cursor up / down to select devices, folders, or files.

In this mode, all folders and supported contents (music, photos, and movies) will be displayed.

Note:

• Please refer to chapter ‘9.1 Specifications‘for more about the supported content formats.

• Music tracks might not be able to played continously under All filter, please switch to the

Music filter instead.

4.2 Browsing Music

In this mode, all folders and supported audio files in current directory will be displayed.

The following buttons can be used to control music playback.

4.3 Browsing Photos

You can view photos in slide show mode with background music. When it is enabled, the slide

4.5 A/V Streaming via Network

You can stream the media files shared on the home network (Ethernet or WLAN). Please refer
to ’3.3 Changing Network Settings’ for details about network settings.
There are two ways to locate media files shared on your local network in the Network menu.
One is to browse through Workgroup; the other way is to browse through ‘My_Shortcuts’.

4.5.1 Browsing through Workgroup

You can choose the workgroup which your PC belongs to from the workgroup list, find your PC
name, and press the ENTER button to confirm. Then you can select and play the shared
media files that you want to browse.

Note:

• While browsing high definition video files (resolution up to 720p / 1080i / 1080p) via
Ethernet or WLAN, the video might be buffering. It is normal due to the limit of network
speed or signal strength.

• Due to different network conditions, sometimes the workgroup might not be accessed or
shown in the list. And then you need to use ‘My_Shortcuts’ to browse shared files.

4.6 A/V Streaming via UPnP-server

A built-in UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) client has been integrated on the system, which
enables the player to auto-detect UPnP Media Servers on the network to browse and stream
media files from them.

4.6.1 Installing UPnP Media Server on your PC

There’re a lot of free and commercial UPnP Media Server software, such as Wi ndows Media
Connect, Windows Media Player 11, XBMC Media Center (Linux/Mac/Windows), MediaTomb
(Linux), etc. Please install one of them on you computer. In the following chapters, we will take
Windows Media Player 11 on Microsoft Windows XP SP2 for an example.

4.6.2 Sharing Media on your PC

The Media Sharing feature of Windows Media Player 11 lets you enjoy the contents of your
Windows Media Player library from anywhere in your home.

- Open Windows Media Player 11, click Library -> Add Library -> Advanced Options to
add or remove media files from the library.

- Click Library -> Media Sharing, then you can allow or deny devices to access the media
library. Click Allow to authorize your player.

4.6.3 Streaming Media on your Player

- Connect your player to the home network (LAN or WLAN).

- Visit Browser - > UPnP menu on the player, select the UPnP-server, and press ENTER.

- Then you can browse the media library shared by Windows Media Player 11.

• Make sure your player and your computer are on the same local area network and subnet.

• Firewalls may prevent your player to communicating with your computer. Please open the

ports manually and add your player to the ‘trusted’ list, or disable the firewall temporarily.

4.7 Renaming / Deleting Files

When navigating in the browser menu, you can press the MENU button to activate a popup
menu where you can rename and delete files or folders.

Press the UP / DOWN buttons to select from Return, Rename, and Delete. And press ENTER
to confirm.

4.8 Managing the Playlist

This player supports the playlist function, which allows you to add your favorite contents o n
local HDD to the playlists (All, Music, Photos, and Movies), and enjoy them at any time.

4.8.1 Adding files to the playlist

Select the favorite file you wish to add, press the SELECT button, and the file will be marked.
Press the CONFIRM button to confirm, and then an on-screen message ‘Add selects to list’ will
be shown. Multiple selections are allowed. See photo below.

4.8.2 Browsing the playlist

6. Internet Radio

This player integrates the SHOUTcast free Internet radio function. Select the Internet Radio
icon on the main interface to enter this menu.

• Make sure the player is connected properly to a LAN or WLAN with Internet access,

• When you enter the Digital Radio menu at the first time, it will take several seconds to

7. Web Server & BitTorrent

7.1 Web Server (unicgi)

A Web server called ‘Neighbor Web’ has been integrated into the player.

- Connect the player to your home network (LAN or WLAN).

- Get the IP address of the player under SETUP -> NETWORK menu.

- Type the IP address (e.g., 192.168.3.15) in the addre ss bar of Internet Explore on your PC.
Then you can access the Web server from your PC.

Note: Please refer to Extension Info in chapter ‘3.4 Changing System Settings’, and make
sure all related packages ‘btpd’, ‘samba’, and ‘unicgi’ are inst alled and run p roperly in advance.

- This page allows you to set a password for accessing Neigh bor Web.

• Password will become effective when Login Control is turned on. (Please refer to Login

7.3 Visit Neighbor (samba)

7.4 BitTorrent Download (btpd)

BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer file sharing protocol used for distributing large amounts of data on
the Internet. A BitTorrent utility (btpd – BitTorrent Protocol Daemon) has been integrated into
the player (Please refer to Extension Info in chapter ‘3.4 Changing System Settings’ for
more details about installing and uninstalling btpd).

The BitTorrent client btpd is running in daemon (a process running in the background) mode
and you can manipulate the process via the Web server.

- Click BitTorrent Download on the home page of Neighbor Web, then you will enter the
BitTorrent Download page.

7.4.1 Add new torrent

- Click Add new torrent on the BitTorrent Download page.

- Click Browse to upload a torrent file, and click Yes to confirm.

The BitTorrent Download page also allows you to start, stop, delete torrents, and set priorities
for torrents, as well as view the status of current torrents.

8. Upgrading the Firmware

The firmware is the operating system (OS) installed on the device. Firmware upgrades can
bring new features, improvements and bug fixes.

Please refer to System Update and Extension Info in chapter ‘3.4 Changing System
Settings’ for more details.

You can also use the following method to upgrade the firmware:

- Copy ‘install.img’ to the roo t directory of a USB key;

- Plug the USB key to the USB HOST port on the player;

- Press and hold the POWER button on the front panel, and conne ct the player with power
supply;

- Wait for more than 3 seconds, and then loose your finger on the POWER button.

Then the upgrade process will start automatically. The LED indicator on the front panel will be
enlightened and flashing during installation. If it is connected to a TV set, an install page will
appear on the TV screen.

9.2 Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1. When I try to disconnect the USB device, I keep on getting “The device
‘Generic volume’ cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later.”
message, what should I do?

Answer:
Close any program that might be accessing data on the player, including Windows® Explorer.
If it does not work, close all programs and wait for another 20 seconds, then try the green
arrow icon again. If it still does not work, you should shut down the player and disconnect the
USB cable.

Question 2. I find new file names and folder names that I never created before or they
have strange gibberish names.

Answer:
Most likely, the player’s file allocation tabl e (FA T ) has b een corrupte d. This might be due to the
player shutting down (due to low battery power) while reading or writing to your computer by
the USB connection. Windows and Macintosh often write extra files to the hard disk such a s
finder.def or System volume info. These are normal and will not do any harm to the player.

Question 3. I used my player to transfer files back and forth between different
computers. Will defragmenting the player hard disk do any harm to it?

Answer:

Defragmenting the player hard disk may be useful after having transferred many files to and
from the player. It is never harmful to use the defragment on the player. Make sure no other
programs are running while using the Windows® defragment utility. Make sure you have
connected the player with the external power adapter during this procedure.

Question 4. My files have disappeared from the player.

Answer:

Make sure that you browse your files via the correct browser mode which means correct
filtered views such as Photos, Music, or Movies.

Question 5. During power on, why does the TV will have a short flashing, blue screen or
screensaver?

Answer:

This is normal, when the system initializes, it will setup the co rrespo nding parame ters so it can
output the correct video signal to the TV, during the initializing time, the TV will receive
incorrect signals or the signals will not be stable and will cause the TV screen to flash, some
TV’s will treat this as no signal, and will display a blue screen or screensaver.

Question 6. Why when I switch to Y/Pb/Pr 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p, does the
TV screen display an unwatchable picture?

Answer:

Please check if your TV supports Y/Pb/Pr 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p output, if your
TV does not support, please use the A/V signal display instead, press the TV SYSYEM button
on the remote control, then switch the TV’s video input to NTSC or PAL.

Question 7. Why is there no sound on movie or music playback when using Y/Pb/Pr
component output?

Answer:

Y/Pb/Pr output is a video output only, and does not include sound signals. When using Y/Pb/Pr
output, please plug the A/V OUT or the S/PDIF jack to output sound.

Question 8. I cannot get SSID name, the screen always displays: ‘Can’t get any SSID!!’

Answer:
When the WLAN USB Adapter is connected to the player, it needs some time to get initialized.
Please wait for about 1~2 minutes and try refreshing the SSID list again.

Question 9. I cannot see files shared on my computer via Browser->Network menu.
Answer:

Please check following items:

1) Connect the player to network and obtain an IP address first;

2) Please enable NetBIOS of TCP/IP on computer;

3) Please check your PC’s firewall settings;

4) Please enable your PC’s ‘Guest’ account;

5) Please share the folders which you wish to browse on your PC, and make sure that
‘Everyone’ or ‘Guest’ has the right to access.

Question 10. I configured everything correctly, but still cannot get the wireless network
or UPnP function to work.

Answer:
Are you using a firewall such as Norton Internet Security, McAfee Personal Firewall, Zone
Alarm, etc. or even the built-in firewall of Windows XP? (Don’t forget that Service Pack 2 for
Windows XP automatically upgrades your firewall and turn it on by default)

If you have a firewall, it may need to be configured or have exceptions created to allow you to
see and communicate with the player on the network. To test if your firewall is preventing
network communication (including PING and access shared folders), try disabling it to see if
you can connect. If you can connect with the firewall disabled, you may need to add the player
to the ‘Trusted’ list or configure the firewall for local intranet access. Worst-case, disable your
firewall long enough to use the player, then enable it again when done.

Question 11. I am using the 802.11n Wi-Fi dongle with an 802.11n wireless router, why
the speed is still 802.11g 54Mbps rather than 300Mbps?

Answer:
The IEEE 802.11n Draft standard prohibits using high throughput with WEP or TKIP as the

unicast cipher. If you use these encryption methods (e.g. WEP, WPA-TKIP), your data rate will
drop to 54 Mbps. You may contact the Access Point or router manufacturer to download the
latest firmware, or try other encryption methods (WPA2-AES or WPA2-TKIP), or choose to
configure an unsecured profile, but this option is not recommended.

1. Einführung

1.1 Vorwort

Vielen Dank, dass Sie sich für den FANTEC MM-FHDL entschied en haben. Wir hoffen, dass
Sie mit diesem Gerät zur Heimunterhaltung viel Freude haben werden. Dieser Player besitzt

1.3 Warnungen

Um mit dem Player sicher und effizient nutzen zu können, lesen Sie sich bitte vor der ersten
Benutzung, die folgenden Hinweise sorgsam durch.

1.3.1 Benutzungshinweis

Versuchen Sie nicht Hard- oder Software des Gerätes zu verändern, da dieses zum Erlöschen
des Garantieanspruches führt. Beim Einsatz handelsüblich e Festplatten sollte die
Umgebungstemperatur zwischen +5° C und + 35° C liegen.

1.3.2 Stromversorgung

Die Netzspannung des Players beträgt DC 12V.
Wenn Sie den Player benutzen, schließen Sie bitte das mitgelieferte AC Netzteil oder das AC
Adapter Kabel an den dafür vorgesehenen Stromanschluss an. Wenn Sie das Adapter Kabel
verlegen, stellen Sie bitte sicher, dass es nicht beschädigt oder eingeklem mt werden kann. Um
einen elektrischen Schlag zu vermeiden, ziehen Sie das Netzteil aus der Steckdose bevor Sie
es reinigen. Schließen Sie niemals das Netzteil an den Player an, wenn er sich in einer
feuchten oder staubigen Umgebung befindet. Benutzen Sie immer das original mitgelieferte
Netzteil, Kabel und Stecker.

1.3.3 Funkstörungen

- Wenn Sie nicht besonders abgeschirmt sind, we rden fast alle elektrischen Geräte durch

Funkstörungen gestört. Unter bestimmten Umständen, könnte ihr Player gestört werden.

- Das Design dieses Player richtet sich nach dem FCC/CE Standard und unterliegt diesen

Regularien: (1) Dieser Player erzeugt keine schädlichen Funkstrahlungen.

(2) Der Player kann durch Funkstrahlung anderer Gerät in seiner Funktion
beeinträchtigt werden.

1.3.4 Reparatur

Wenn es ein Problem mit dem Player geben sollte, sollten Sie es zu einer zertifizierten
Reparaturwerkstatt bringen und Speziallisten die Reparatur durchführen lassen. Führen Sie
die Reparatur niemals selbst durch. Sie könnten den Player beschädigen und sich selbst und
ihre Daten gefährden.

1.3.5 Entsorgung des Players

Wenn Sie sich von ihrem Player trennen wollen, stellen Sie bitte sicher das Gerät
ordnungsgemäß zu entsorgen. In einigen Lände rn gelten Verordnungen für die Entsorgung
elektrischer Geräte. Bitte beachten Sie die lokale Gesetzgebung.

1.3.6 Hinweise zur Festplatte

Der Player setzt zur Datenspeicherung eine interne Festplatte ein. Normalerweise ist keine
Formatierung oder Reparatur der Festplatte notwendig. (Außer bei erster Inbet riebnahme)
Sie sollten das FAQ Kapitel aufmerksa m lesen oder unsere Webseite besuchen, bevor Sie die
Festplatte formatieren.

- Ein physischer Aufprall kann Sektoren auf der Festplatte beschädigen. Sie können das

Programm „CHKDSK“ benutzen, um dieses Problem zu beheben.

- Alle Daten können durch einen physischen Aufprall, einen Stromschlag, einen Stromausfall

oder durch ein Formatieren der Festplatte verloren gehen. Bitte sichern Sie deshalb ihre
Daten.

- Es wird empfohlen die Festplatte nach einer längeren Benutzung zu defragmentieren.

- Führen Sie regelmäßig eine Datensicherung durch, so dass Sie ihre Daten nach einem

Datenverlust zurücksichern können. Wir übernehmen keine Haftung für die Daten, die sich

auf der Festplatte befinden.

1.3.7 Weiteres

Wenn Sie den Player benutzen, lassen Sie ihn nicht mit Wasser oder anderen Flüssigkeiten in
Berührung kommen. Wenn aus Versehen doch einmal Wasser an den Player spritzen sollte,
benutzen Sie bitte ein trockenes Tuch um die Spritzer aufzunehmen.
Elektronische Geräte sind empfindlich. Vermeiden Sie Erschütterungen und St öße besonders
wenn das Gerät in Betrieb ist und drücken Sie die Knöpfe nicht mit Gewalt.

 Lassen Sie den Player nicht mit Wasser oder anderen Flüssigkeiten in Kontakt kommen.
 Bauen Sie die Festplatte nicht aus dem Player aus, versuchen Sie nicht ihn zu reparieren

oder verändern das Design des Players. Sollte der Player dabei beschädigt werden,
verlieren Sie Ihren Garantieanspruch.

 Drücken Sie die Tasten des Players nicht mit Gewalt.

Vermeiden Sie Erschütterungen und Stöße, besonders wenn das Gerät in Betrieb ist und
halten Sie das Gerät von magnetischen Feldern fern.

 Während statischer Entladungen und in starken magnetischen Feldern, wird das Gerät

nicht ordnungsgemäß funktionieren. Trennen Sie dann das Gerät für einige Zeit vom
Stromnetz und versu ch en Sie es danach erneut in Betrieb zunehmen.

1.4 Anschluss

1.4.1 Netzanschluss

(1) Schließen Sie den AC Adapter wie in der Abbildung an die DC IN Buchse an;
(2) Schließen Sie den AC Adapter wie in der Abbildung an die Steckdose an.

1.4.2 Anschluss an PC

(1) Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der Player eingeschaltet ist;
(2) Schließen Sie den quadratischen Stecker des USB-Kabels an den USB Device-Anschluss
des Players an;
(3) Stecken Sie den rechteckigen Stecker des USB-Kabels an den Computer an.

Auf diese Weise können Sie über Ihren PC den Inhalt des integrierten Festplattenlaufwerks
des Players verwalten.

1.4.3 Anschluss eines USB-Geräts

(1) Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der Player eingeschaltet ist;
(2) Schließen Sie den USB-St ick oder die USB-Festplatte usw. an den USB HOST Anschluss
des Players an.

Auf diese Weise können Sie die Inhalte auf Ihrem USB-Gerät durchsuch en.

1.4.4 Anschluss an ein Fernsehgerät

1.4.4.1 A/V AUSGANG

(1) Schließen Sie das 3-farbige Kabel wie in der Abbildung an die A/V OUT Buchse des
Players an;
(2) Schließen Sie das 3-farbige Kabel wie in der der Abbildung an die A/V IN Buchse des
Fernsehgeräts an.
Auf diese Weise können Sie über ein Fernsehgerät oder andere Bildschirme den Inhalt Ihres
Players genießen.

1.4.4.2 SCART-AUSGANG

(1) Schließen Sie das SCART-Kabel wie in der Abbildung an den SCART-Anschluss des
Players an.
(2) Schließen Sie den anderen Stecker des SCART-Kabels wie in der Abbildung an den
SCART-Anschluss des Fernsehgeräts an.

1.4.4.3 Y/Pb/Pr Component-AUSGANG

(1) Schließen Sie das 3-farbige Kabel wie in der Abbil dung an die Y /Pb/Pr Buchse des Players
an;
(2) Schließen Sie den das 3-farbige Kabel wie in der Abbildung an die Y/Pb/Pr Buchse des
Fernsehgeräts an.
Audioverbindung während des Anschlusses an den Y/Pb/Pr Videoausgang:
Methode 1: Verwenden Sie den Audioausgang über die A/V OUT Buchse.
Methode 2: Verwenden Sie den Audioausgang über den koaxialen oder optischen S/PDIF
Anschlussbuchse.

1.4.4.4 HDMI-AUSGANG

(1) Schließen Sie einen Stecker Ihres HDMI-Kabels wie in der Abbildung an die HDMI-Buchse
des Players an.
(2) Schließen Sie den anderen Stecker Ihres HDMI-Kabels an die HDMI-Buchse des
TV-Geräts an. Hinweis: Das HDMI-Kabel gehört nicht zum Lieferumfang.

Auf diese Weise können Sie mit nur einem einzigen Kabel höchste Audio- und Videoqualität
erzielen.

1.4.5 Anschluss an einen digitalen Verstärker

(1) Schließen Sie den RCA-Stecker Ihres Koaxialkabels anhand der Abbildung an die koaxiale
S/PDIF Buchse des Players an. Wenn Sie einen Gla sfaserleite r verwenden, schließen Sie den
Toslink-Stecker des Glasfaserleiters an die optische S/PDIF Buchse des Players an.
(2) Schließen Sie den anderen Stecker des Koaxialkabels oder Glasfaserleiters wie in der
Abbildung an das digitale Audiogerät (digitaler Verstärker oder Dekodierer) an.

Hinweis: Der Glasfaserleiter und das Koaxialkabel sind nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten.

Auf diese Weise kommen Sie in den Genuss des leistungsstarken Dolby Digital oder MPEG
Tons. (Siehe auch Kapitel ‘3.1 Audioeinstellungen ändern zur Konfiguration)

1.4.6 Anschluss an eine LAN-Verbindung

Für den Anschluss an ei n LAN (Local Area Network) benötigen Sie ein cat5, cat5e oder cat6
Netzwerkkabel (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten).
(1) Schließen Sie einen der Stecker an den RJ45 LAN Anschluss des Players an.
(2) Schließen Sie den anderen S tecker des Kabels an den RJ45 LAN Anschluss Ihre s Routers,
Switches oder Hubs an.

1.4.7 Anschluss an ein WLAN-Netzwerk

(1) Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der Player eingeschaltet ist.
(2) Verbinden Sie den WLAN USB Adapter (z.B. Wi-Fi USB Dongle) mit dem USB HOST
Anschluss des Players.
Hinweis: Der Wi-Fi Dongle ist ein optionales Zubehörteil. (Nähere Informationen über die
WLAN-Einstellungen finden Sie unter ‘3.3 Netzwerkeinstellungen ändern‘)

1.5 Ein-/Ausschalten

Einschalten

Drücken Sie nach dem Anschluss an die DC IN Buchse die Betriebstaste an der Frontblende;
das Startmenü wird angezeigt und die Betriebsanzeige leuchtet blau.

Ausschalten

Drücken Sie an der Frontblende die Betriebstaste; der Player schaltet um in Standby und die
Betriebsanzeige leuchtet rot.
Ziehen Sie den Stecker de s Netzteiles aus der Steckdose, um die Stromversorgung vollstän dig
zu unterbrechen.

1.6 Menü-Sprache

Sie können Englisch oder eine ander Sprache als Systemsprache einstellen. Wählen Sie im
Setup-Menü die gewünschte Sprache; die gewählte Spracheinstellung wird sofort umgesetzt.

1.7 Festplattenformatierung

Wenn Sie eine neue SATA-Festplatte in Ihrem Player installieren möchten, beachten Sie bitte
folgende Anweisungen, um das Laufwerk des Players vor dem Erstgebrauch zu formatieren.
Hinweis: Diese Seite können Sie auch über den Pfad Setup->System->HDD-Format
aufrufen.

- Schritt 1: Bestätigen Sie den Warnhinweis über die Option OK.

- Schritt 2: Wählen Sie Format und drücken Sie ENTER; die Formattierung der Festplatte
beginnt.

Die Formatierung wird innerhalb weniger Minuten abgeschlossen sein. Anschließend können
Sie die Festplatte verwenden.

Hinweis: Durch die Formatierung der Festplatte werden alle auf der Platte gespeicherten
Daten gelöscht. Führen Sie deshalb vorher einen Backup durch!

3. Setup-Menü

Über das Setup-Menü können Sie die Einstellungen Ihres Players personalisieren und
konfigurieren.

Auswahl einer Setup-Option:

- Wählen Sie in der Hauptseite das Icon Setup oder drücken Sie auf der Fernbedienung die
Taste SETUP.

- Wählen Sie mit den Pfeiltasten LINKS/RECHTS eine Option aus; bestätigen Sie mit
ENTER.

Das Setup-Menü bietet die fünf Optionen Audio, Video, Netzwerk, System, und
VERSCHIEDENES. Wählen Sie mit den Pfeiltasten HOCH/RUNTER ein Menü aus.
Bestätigen Sie mit der Taste ENTER. Drücken Sie die Taste RETURN, um abzubrechen und
zur vorherigen Menüanzeige zurückzukehren.

3.1 Audioeinstellungen ändern

Über dieses Menü können Sie die Audioeinstellungen konfigurieren.

Nachtmodus

- Wählen Sie zwischen Aus / Ein / Komfort. Falls diese Einstellung aktiviert ist, wird die
Wiedergabelautstärke verringert.

Digitaler Ausgang

- Wählen Sie zwischen HDMI LPCM / HDMI RAW / SPDIF LPCM / SPDIF RAW. Im
RAW-Modus können Dolby Digital oder MPEG zum HDMI TV oder digitalen Verstärker
umgeleitet werden.

3.2 Videoeinstellungen ändern

Über dieses Menü können Sie die Videoeinstellungen ändern.

Seitenverhältnis

- Pan Scan 4:3: Das Breitbildfernsehen wird über die gesamte Höhe des Bildschi rms
angezeigt. Da nicht das komplette Bild auf den Fernseher passt, werden die Seitenränder
ausgeblendet. Wählen Sie dieses Format, wenn Sie einen 4:3 Fernseher angeschlossen
haben.

- Letter Box 4:3: Das Breitbildfernsehen wird über die gesamte Breite des Bildschirms
angezeigt. Da das Bild nicht den kompletten Bildschirm ausfüllt, wird am unteren und
oberen Bildrand das Bild mit einem schwarzen Balken aufgefüllt. Wählen Sie dieses
Format, wenn Sie einen 4:3 Fernseher angeschlossen haben.

- 16:9: Komprimiert das Bild, um das gesamte Bild zu konvertieren. Bei Anschluss eines
16:9 Fernsehgeräts auswählen.

Helligkeit

- Die Helligkeitseinstellungen ändern.

Kontrast

- Die Kontrasteinstellungen ändern.

TV-SYSTEM

- Um die Videoausgangsauflösung einzustellen, wählen Sie zwischen: NTSC / PAL / 480P /
576P / 720P 50HZ / 720P 60HZ / 1080I 50HZ / 1080I 60HZ / 1080P 50HZ / 1080P 60HZ.

3.3 Netzwerkeinstellungen ändern

Über dieses Menü können Sie die LAN- und WLAN-Einstellungen konfigurieren.

Setup der LAN-Verbindung

- Verbindung s-Modus einstellen

Wählen Sie zwischen Infrastruktur (AP) und Peer-to-Peer (Ad Hoc). Drücken Sie

- Infrastruktur (AP)
Der Infrastruktur Modus wird benutzt, wenn Sie das Gerät in eine bestehend e WLAN

Infrastruktur mit einem WLAN-Router oder einem Access-Point einfügen wollen.

SSID-Name beziehen

Drücken Sie ENTER, um zum nächsten Schritt zu gelangen, oder RETURN, um
abzubrechen. Drücken Sie SELECT, um die SSID-Liste zu aktualisieren.

Hinweis: In der Sicherheitsliste bedeuten die Einstellungen WEP (Wired Equivalent
Privacy) und WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access), dass das Netzwerk verschlüsselt ist. Sie
benötigen einen Netzwerkschlüssel, um auf das Netzwerk zugreifen zu können. KEINE
bedeutet, dass es sich um ein offenes Netzwerk handelt.

WEP-/WPA-Schlüssel eingeben

Schlüssel können mit Hilfe der virtuellen Tastatur eingegeben werden. Mit den
Navigationstasten nehmen Sie eine Auswahl vor, mit der Taste ENTER nehmen Sie
Eingaben vor, mit der T aste CAPS wech seln Sie zwische n Groß- u nd Klein schreibung, mit
<- können Sie Zeichen löschen, mit -> ein Leerzeichen einfügen, mit Shif t weitere
Symbole verfügbar machen, und mit OK Einstellungen bestätigen.

Testverbindung

Der Testvorgang wird einige Zeit in Anspruch nehmen. Bei erfolgreichem Test werden die
Netzwerkinformationen (Profilname, IP-Adress, Subnet-Maske, Gateway, etc.) auf dem
Bildschirm angezeigt.

- Peer-to-Peer (Ad Hoc)
Im Peer-to-Peer Modus, oder auch Ad-hoc oder Computer-to-Computer Modus genannt,
werden WLAN-Clients ohne Router oder Access-Point direkt miteinander verbunden.

- Aktualisieren Sie die Firmware oder der Erweiterungspakete per USB-Stick.

4.5 A/V Netzwerk-Streaming

Sie können Media-Dateien, die auf dem Heimnetzwerk (LAN oder WLAN) gemeinsam genutzt
werden, streamen. Nähere Informationen zu den Netzwerkeinstellungen finden Sie unter
’3.3 Netzwerkeinstellungen ändern’.

Im Netzwerk-Menü gibt es zwei Wege, um auf ihre Media-Dateien, die im lokalen Netzwerk
gemeinsam genutzt werden, zuzugreifen. Entweder durchsuchen Sie die Arbeitsgruppe oder
‘My_Shortcuts’.

4.5.1 Arbeitsgruppe durchsuchen

Sie können die Arbeitsgruppe, zu der Ihr PC gehört, in der Arbeitsgruppenliste suche n. Wenn
Sie Ihren PC gefunden haben, bestätigen Sie mit der Taste ENTER. Danach können Sie die
gemeinsam genutzten Dateien, die Sie durchsuchen möchten, auswählen und abspielen.

Hinweis:

• Bei der Suche nach hochauflösenden Videodateien (Auflösung bis zu 720p / 1080i / 1080p)
per Ethernet oder WLAN werden die Videos aufgrund der eingeschränkten
Netzwerkgeschwindigkeit möglicherweise zwischengespeichert.

• Aufgrund unterschiedlicher Netzwerkeinstellungen wird die Arbeitsgruppe manchmal nicht
zugänglich sein oder nicht in der Liste angezeigt. In solch einem Fall müssen Sie über das
Menü ‘My_Shortcuts’ nach Dateien suchen.

4.5.2 ‘My_Shortcuts’ durchsuchen

Sie können auch die ‘Spezifische Dateiserver-IP’ festlegen und über das Menü
‘My_Shortcuts’ zugreifen.

- Drücken Sie die Taste MENÜ; ein Pop-up Fenster wird geöffnet.

- Wählen Sie Hinzufügen, um ein Pop-up Menü öffnen, in dem Sie Benutzername,
Passwort, Domain, Host-Name und Spezifische Dateiserver-IP des Zielcomputers
eingeben können. Bestätigen Sie mit OK oder beenden Sie mit Cancel; wählen Sie
Einfach/Detail, um zwischen einfachen und erweiterten Einstellungen zu wechseln.

- Wählen Sie den hinzugefügten Shortcut und bestätigen Sie mit der Taste ENTER.
Anschließend können Sie auf die gemeinsam genutzten Media-Dateien auf dem
Zielcomputer zugreifen.

4.6 A/V Streaming per UPnP-Server

In dieses System wurde ein UPnP (Universal Plug & Play) Client integriert, welcher es dem
Player ermöglicht, UPnP Mediaserver automatisch im Netzwerk zu finden, um von ihnen
Media-Dateien zu suchen und abzuspielen.

4.6.1 UPnP Mediaserver auf Ihrem PC installieren

Es gibt eine Vielzahl kostenloser und gewerbliche r Mediaserver-Software, z.B. Windows
Media Connect, Windows Media Player 11, XBMC Media Center (Linux/Mac/Windows),
MediaTomb (Linux). Bitte installieren Sie einen dieser Server auf Ihrem PC. Nachfolgenden
wird die Einrichtung Windows Media Player 11 auf Microsoft Windows XP beschrieben.

4.6.2 Gemeinsamer Zugriff auf Media-Dateien Ihres PCs

Mit der Funktion des gemeinsamen Datenzugriffs von Windows Media Player 11 können Sie
überall in Ihrem Haus auf die Dateien der Windows Media Player Bibliothek zugreifen.

- Klicken Sie auf Bibliothek -> Bibliothek hinzufügen -> Erweiterte Einstellungen, um
Media-Dateien in die Bibliothek hinzuzufügen oder zu löschen.

- Klicken Sie Bibliothek -> Media-Sharing; Sie können dann Geräten den Zugang zur
Mediabibliothek erlauben oder verweigern. Wählen Sie Zulassen, um den Player zu
autorisieren.

4.6.3 Medien auf Ihrem Player streamen

- Schließen Sie Ihren Player an das Heimnetzwerk (LAN oder WLAN an).

- Öffnen Sie Menü Browser - > UpnP, wählen Sie den UpnP-Server ; drücken Sie ENTER.

- Sie können nun die von Windows Media Player 11 freigegebene Medienbibliothek
durchsuchen.

Hinweis:

• Vergewissern Sie sich, dass Ihr Player und Ihr Computer mit dem gleichen lokalen
Netzwerk und Subnetz verbunden sind.

• Firewalls können Ihren Player eventuell daran hindern, mit Ihrem PC zu kommunizieren.
Öffnen Sie die Ports manuell und fügen Sie Ihr en Player zur ‘zuverlässigen’ Liste hinzu,
oder deaktivieren Sie vorübergehend Firewall.

4.7 Dateien umbenennen/löschen

Wenn Sie im Browser-Menü navigieren, können Sie durch Drücken von MENÜ ein Pop-Up
Menü öffnen, in dem Sie Dateien oder Ordner umbenennen oder löschen können.

Wählen Sie mit den Pfeiltasten HOCH/RUNTER die Einstellungen Zurück, Umbenennen
oder Löschen. Bestätigen Sie mit ENTER.

4.8 Wiedergabeliste verwalten

Dieser Player unterstützt eine Wiedergabeliste. Sie können Ihre Lieblingsdateien (Musik,
Bilder und Filme) auf der lokalen Festplatte zur Wiedergabeliste hinzufügen und jederzeit
abspielen.

4.8.1 Dateien zur Wiedergabeliste hinzufügen

Wählen Sie die Datei, die Sie hinzufügen möchten, aus, drücken Sie SELECT; die Datei wird
markiert. Bestätigen Sie mit CONFIRM; auf dem Bildschirm erscheint die Nachricht ‘Auswahl
zur Liste hinzugefügt’. Die Auswahl mehrerer Dateien ist möglich. Siehe nachfolgende
Abbildung.

4.8.2 Wiedergabeliste durchsuchen

Wählen Sie im Browser-Menü mit den Tasten HOCH/RUNTER die Wiedergabeliste. Wählen
Sie mit den Tasten LINKS/RECHTS zwischen den Einstellungen Alle, Musik, Bilder und
Filme. Bestätigen Sie mit ENTER. Die Wiedergabeliste wird geöffnet.

Wenn Sie eine Datei in der Wiedergabeliste löschen möchten, drücken Sie SELECT und
bestätigen Sie mit CONFIRM.

um das Menü Kopieren zu öffnen, über welches Sie Dateien zwischen USB-Geräten, lokaler
Festplatte und dem Netzwerk kopieren können.

7. Webserver & BitTorrent

7.1 Webserver (unicgi)

Der Player verfügt über einen Webserver mit dem Namen ‘Neighbor Web’.

- Verbinden Si e Ihren Player mit dem Heimnetzwerk (LAN oder WLAN).

- Suchen Sie im Menü SETUP -> NETZWERK nach der IP-Adresse.

- Geben Sie in der Addre s szeile des Internet Explorers auf Ihrem PC die IP-Adresse (z.B.

192.168.3.15) ein.
Nun können Sie von Ihrem PC aus auf den Webserver zugreifen.

Hinweis: Bitte informieren Sie sich näher unter Erweiterte Informationen im Kapitel ‘3.4
Systemeinstellungen ändern’, und vergewissern Sie sich vorher, dass alle relevanten

Pakete ‘btpd’, ‘samba’ und ‘unicgi’ ordnungsgemäß installiert wurden und funktionieren.

7.2 Kontoverwaltung

- Klicken Sie auf der Homepage von Neighbor Web auf Kontoverwaltung.

- Auf dieser Seite können Sie ein Passwort für den Zugang zum Neighbor Web festlegen.

Hinweis:

• Das Passwort wird aktiv, wenn die Login-Kontrolle eingeschaltet ist. (Siehe
Login-Kontrolle im Kapitel ‘3.4 Systemeinstellungen ändern’)

• Der Benutzername in den Standardeinstellungen ist ‘admin’, das Passwort lautet ‘123’.

7.3 Neighbor besuchen (samba)

- Klicken Sie auf der Homepage von Neighbor Web auf Neighbor besuchen.

- Sie können dann Dateien auf/von der lokalen Festplatte des Players durchsuche n,
bearbeiten und kopieren.

7.4 BitTorrent herunterladen (btpd)

BitTorrent ist ein Peer-to-Peer Dateizugriffsprotokoll für die Verteilung großer Datenmengen im
Internet. Auf dem Player wurde ein BitTorrent Programm (btpd – BitTorrent Protokoll-Daemon)
integriert (Nähere Informationen zum Installieren und Dein stallieren von btpd finden Sie unter
Erweiterte Informationen im Kapitel ‘3.4 Systemeinstellungen ändern’).

Der BitTorrent Client btpd läuft im Daemon-Modus (Prozess im Hintergrund); Sie können den
Prozess mit Hilfe des Webservers bedienen.

- Klicken Sie auf der Homepage von Neighbor Web auf BitTorrent Download; die Seite
zum Herunterladen von BitTorrent-Dateien wird geöffnet.

7.4.1 Neuen Torrent hinzufügen

- Klicken Sie auf dieser Seite auf die Option ADD NEW TORRENT.

- Klicken Sie auf Browse, um eine Torrent-Datei hochzuladen; klicken Sie zum Bestätigen
auf Ja.

7.4.2 Die Downloads verwalten

Die Seite BitTorrent Download ermöglicht Ihnen auch, Torrents zu starten, zu beenden oder
zu löschen, Prioritäten für Torrents einzustellen, oder den Status aktueller Torrents
anzuzeigen.

- Klicken Sie auf Start, um mit dem Herunterladen zu beginnen.

- Klicken Sie auf Stop, um den Download zu beenden.

- Klicken Sie auf DEL, um den ausgewählten Torrent zu löschen.

- Klicken Sie auf REFRESH, um den aktuellen Status zu erneuern.

- Klicken Sie auf den Pfeil Runter, um die Priorität für den ausgewählten Torrent zu
verringern.

- Klicken Sie auf den Pfeil Hoch, um die Priorität für den ausgewählten Torrent zu erhöhen.

7.4.3 Einstellungen

- Klicken Sie auf der Seite zum Herunteladen von BitTorrent die Option Einstellung, um die
Seite BitTorrent Einstellungen zu öffnen.

Auf der Seite BitTorrent Einstellungen können Sie folgende Parameter konfigurieren.

- Die maximale Rate zum Herunterladen festlegen.

- Die maximale Rate zum Hochladen festlegen.

- Legen Sie die Leerlaufstunden fest, nach Ablauf derer der nächste Download automatisch
beginnt.

- Stellen Sie die Seeding-Stunden ein.

- Legen Sie fest, ob die fertigen Torrent-Dateien automatisch gelöscht werden sollen oder
nicht.

- Maximale Anzahl gl eichzeitiger Download-Aufgaben festlegen.

8. Aktualisierung der Firmware

Die Firmware ist das auf dem Gerät installierte Betriebssystem (OS). Aktualisierungen der
Firmware können neue Funktionen und Verbesserungen bringen und Programmfehler
beheben.

Nähere Informationen finden Sie unter System aktualisieren und Erweiterte Informationen
im Kapitel ‘3.4 Systemeinstellungen ändern’.

Sie können Ihre Firmware wie folgt aktualisieren:

- Kopieren Sie die Datei ‘install.img’ in da s Hauptverzeichnis eines USB-Sticks;

- Stecken Sie den USB-Stick an den USB HOST Anschluss des Players an;

- Halten Sie die BETRIEBSTASTE an der Frontplatte gedrückt und schließen Sie den
Player mit Stromversorgung an;

- Warten Sie länger als 3 Sekunden, und nehmen Sie dann Ihren Finger von der
BETRIEBSTASTE.

Der Aktuali sie rungsprozess beginnt automatisch. Die LED-Anzeige an der Frontplatte leuchtet
und blinkt während der Installation. Wenn das Gerät a n einen Fernseher angeschlossen ist,
wird auf dem Fernsehbildschirm ein Installationsfenster geöffnet.

9.2 Häufig gestellte Fragen

Frage 1. Wenn ich das USB-Gerät trennen möchte, erscheint stän dig die Nachricht “Das
Gerät ‘Allgemeiner Datenträger’ kann momentan nicht getrennt werden. Versuchen Sie
es später erneut.”; was kann ich tun?

Antwort:
Schließen Sie alle Programme, die eventuell auf die Daten des Players zugreifen,
einschließlich Windows® Explorer. Falls dies nicht hilft, schließen Sie bitte alle Programme
und warten Sie weitere 20 Sekunden; versuchen Sie dann erneut, das Gerät über den grünen
Pfeil zu trennen. Falls es dann immer noch nicht funktioniert, sollten Sie den Player
herunterfahren und dann das USB-Kabel herausziehen.

Frage 2. Es existieren Datei- und Ordnernamen, die ich vorher nicht erstellt habe, oder
die Namen sind seltsames Kauderwelsch.

Antwort:
Die Dateibelegungstabelle (FAT) des Pla yers wur de m it großer Wahrscheinlichkeit korrumpiert.
Dies kann passieren, wenn der Player während des Lesens oder Beschreibens Ihres
Computers per USB-Kabel getrennt wurde. Windows und Macintosh schreiben oft separate
Dateien, wie z.B. finder.def oder “Datenträgerinformationen des Systems” auf die Festplatte.
Dies sind normale Dateien und stellen keine Störung für Ihren Player dar.

Frage 3. Ich habe meinen Player zur Übertragung von Dateien zwischen verschiedenen
Computern benutzt. Wird eine Defragmentierung der Player-Festplatte Schaden
anrichten?

Antwort:

Eine Defragmentierung der Player-Festplatte kann nach der Übertragung vieler Dateien von
und auf den Player nützlich sein. Eine Defragmentierung kann den Player nicht beschädigen.
Vergewi ssern Sie sich, dass während der Anwendung des Windows®
Defragmentierungsprogramms keine anderen Programme geöffnet sind. Der Player muss
während dieses Prozesses an den externen Stromadapter angeschlossen sein.

Frage 4. Meine Dateien sind vom Player verschwunden.

Antwort:

Vergewissern Sie sich, dass Sie mit Hilfe des richtigen Browser-Modus Ihre Dateien
durchsuchen, d.h., mit der richtigen Filterung: z.B. Bilder, Musik oder Filme.

Frage 5. Warum hat das Fernsehgerät während des Betriebs einen kurz blinkenden,
blauen Bildschirm oder Bildschirmschoner?

Antwort:

Dies ist während der Initialisierung des Systems normal. Es erstellt die entsprechenden
Parameter, so dass es die richtigen Videosignale an den Fernseher senden kann. Wenn der
Fernseher während der Initialisierung falsche Signale erhält oder die Signale nicht stabil sind
und dadurch ein Flackern auf dem Bildschirm auftritt, behandeln einige Fernsehgeräte diesen
Umstand als kein Signal, was in der Anzeige des blauen Bildschirms oder Bildschirmsch oners

resultiert.

Frage 6: Warum zeigt der Fernsehbildschirm ein völlig schlechtes Bild, wenn ich zu
Y/Pb/Pr 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i, oder 1080p umschalte?

Antwort:

Bitte überprüfen Sie, ob Ihr Fernsehgerät die Formate Y/Pb/Pr 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i, und
1080p unterstützt. Falls nicht, verwenden Sie stattdessen bitte die A/V Signalanzeige. Drücken
Sie auf der Fernbedienung die Taste TV-SYSTEM, schalten Sie den Videoeingang des
Fernsehers auf NTSC oder PAL.

Frage 7. Warum gibt es bei der Wiedergabe von Filmen oder Musik über Y/Pb/Pr
Component Ausgang keinen Ton?

Antwort:

Bei Y/Pb/Pr handelt es sich nur um einen Videoausgang, dieser beinhaltet keine
Tonsignale.Bei Verwendung des Y/Pb/Pr Ausgangs verbinden Sie den A/V OUT Anschluss
oder die S/PDIF Buchse mit dem Tonausgang.

Frage 8. Ich bekomme keinen SSID-Namen; im Display erscheint ständig: ‘SSID nicht
verfügbar!!’

Anwort:
Wenn der WLAN USB Adapter an den Player angeschlossen ist, benötigt dieser einige Zeit fü r
die Initialisierung. Warten Sie bitte 1~2 Minuten und versuchen Sie dann erneut, die
SSID-Liste zu aktualisieren.

Frage 9. Ich kann über den Pfad Browser ->Netwerk-Menü keine auf meinem Computer
gemeinsam genutzten Dateien sehen.

Antwort:
Überprüfen Sie folgende Sachverhalte:

1) Schließen Sie den Player an ein Netzwerk an und vergeben Sie zunächst die IP-Adresse;

2) Bitte aktivieren Sie auf Ihrem Computer NetBIOS von TCP/IP;

3) Bitte überprüfen Sie die Firewalleinstellungen Ihres PC;

4) Bitte aktivieren Sie das ‘Gast’ Konto Ihres Computers;

5) Bitte ermöglichen Sie den Datenzugriff auf die Ordner, die Sie auf Ihrem PC durchsuchen
möchten, und vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Konten ‘Alle’ oder ‘Besucher’ Zugriffsrechte
haben.

Frage 10. Ich habe alle Einstellungen richtig konfiguriert, dennoch funktioniert das
schnurlose Netzwerk oder der UpnP nocht nicht richtig.
Antwort:

Verwenden Sie einen Firewall wie zum Beispiel Norton Internet Security, McAfee Personal
Firewall, Zone Alarm, usw., oder haben Sie sogar den integrierten Firewall von Windows XP?
(Achten Sie bitte darauf, dass das Windows XP Service Pack 2 Ihren Firewall automatisch
aktualisiert und in den Werkseinstellung einschaltet ist.)

Wenn Sie einen Firewall verwenden, muss dieser eventuell konfiguriert werden bzw. erfordert
Ausnahmen, um Ihnen die Sicht und die Kommunikation mit dem Player im Netzwerk zu
ermöglichen. Um zu überprüfen, ob Ihre Firewall die Netzwerkkommunikation (einschließlich
PING und Dateizugriff) behindert, unterbrechen Sie die Verbindung. Wenn Sie mit dem
deaktivierten Firewall eine Verbindung herstellen können, müssen Sie den Player eventuell
zur ‘Zuverlässigen Liste’ hinzufügen oder den Firewall für den lokalen Intranet-Zugang
konfigurieren. Deaktivieren Sie im schlimmsten Fall Ihren Firewall lange genug, um den Player
zu verwenden. Aktivieren Sie ihn dann erneut.

Frage 11. Ich verwende den 802.11n Wi-Fi Dongle mit einem schnurlosen 802.11n
Router. Warum beträgt die Geschindigkeit noch immer 802.11g 54Mbps anstatt von
300Mbps?

Antwort:
DerThe IEEE 802.11n Entwurf verbietet den Einsatz von hohem Datendurchlauf mit WEP oder
TKIP als Unicast-Codes. Wenn Sie diese Verschlüsselungs-Method en (z.B. WEP, WPA-TKIP),
verwenden, fällt Ihre Datenrate auf 54 Mbps. Sie können den Zugangspunkt oder
Router-Hersteller kontaktieren, um die aktuellste Firmware herunterzuladen, oder versuchen
Sie andere Entschlüsselungsmethoden (WPA2-AES oder WPA2-TKIP); oder konfigurieren Sie
ein nicht gesichertes Profil, obwohl diese Methode nicht empfohlen wird.
