Chapter Three
3.1 Power supply and charge
Before using the navigator for the first time please charge it fully using the mains
adapter.
3.1.1 Power supply
There are three methods of supplying power: battery, adaptor, USB cable.
The navigator uses the built in Li-battery to supply power when it is not connected
with an adaptor. The mark
on the top right of the screen indicates the current
charge.
The navigator uses the external power when it is connected with an adaptor.
The navigator uses the USB cable to supply power when the GPS connects to the
PC but please be aware that a PC USB port cannot supply much power and may
charge the battery slowly if it all.
Note: The length of time the navigator can run from the backup battery will vary
depending on the use of the navigator. Some functions (audio playing, video playing,
bright back light) will consume more power which will reduce the battery life. Note: The navigator has a built-in, unchangeable Lithium battery. In order to avoid
fire or burning please do not poke, bump or take it apart or throw it into fire or water.
3.1.2 Use the mains adapter to supply power
When the navigator is first used please use the AC adaptor to fully charge it.
1. Connect the mini USB plug from the adaptor to the socket on the side of the
navigator.
2. Plug the mains plug into the mains, the adapter will power the navigator as well as
charge the battery.
The red LED indicates it is being charged. Please wait until it is fully charged and
Page 5
5
don’t pull out the adaptor while charging. When it is fully-charged, the LED will turn to
Blue. If the navigator has a low battery or no battery left, please charge it
immediately.
3.1.2 Use the car adaptor to supply power
1. Connect the mini USB plug from the adaptor to the socket on the side of the
navigator.
2. Plug the cigarette lighter plug into the socket in the car, the adapter will power the
navigator as well as charge the battery.
3.2.1 Power on
Please check the battery is charged or it is connected to external power source.
Press the button for a few seconds on the top of the unit to turn it on. Note: If condensation forms on the unit when moving it from one environment to
another please allow it to clear before turning the unit on to avoid damage.
3.2.2 Power off or sleep
Press the button on the top of the unit for a couple of seconds to turn off, the unit will
ask you if you want to turn it off or put it to sleep. When in sleep mode the unit will still
use some power but will return to the same state it was in when turned back on.
3.3 Reset system
If the system does not work you can reset it in the following way:
Insert a straightened paperclip into the reset hole on the rear of the unit and press
the hidden button inside.
Page 6
6
This can resolve problems such as:
1. The interface is slow or frozen.
2. Selecting icons is not working or is very slow.
3. The power button does not work.
Note: Any unsaved data will be lost when you reset the system.
3.4 Use the bracket to mount the navigator
When using the navigator in the car you should fix the device to the window using the
bracket.
Note: When use the bracket, please take care of the position. Please don’t fix the
navigator where it will obscure the driver’s line of sight. Do not fix it to an air bag or in
the range of an air bag.
3.5 Micro SD card
The Micro SD card contains the navigation software, map data and your own media
files. Press the card in gently with your finger nail and it will pop out slightly so that
you can remove it, to reinsert push it into the slot until it clicks and locks in place. Note: Please do not remove the Micro SD card when the system is navigating or
playing files.
Please be careful when inserting the Micro SD card. If you insert the card improperly,
you may damage the card or the navigator.
Page 7

3.6 Connect with a computer
The device can be connected with a computer through the MINI USB socket. You can
copy a media file or document between the navigator and computer.
1. Please confirm the navigator is powered on.
2 Connect the MINI end [ ] of USB cable with the USB port on the device and the
normal end [ ] with a USB port on computer.
3 Please pull out the MINI USB cable after you have finished your operation, the
navigator will return to the previous screen.
Note: The navigator will stop other operations when it is connected with a computer.
When connected to a computer the following actions will break off the connection and
any unfinished data will be lost.
1. Pull out the MINI USB cable
2. Power off

Maintenance of the navigator
The navigator will be a reliable navigation and entertainment companion if used
correctly. Please follow the instructions below to ensure your navigator runs smoothly
for a long time.
Protect the screen: Don’t press the screen with strength or you may damage it. To
clean the screen spray a little glass cleaner on a soft cloth and wipe the screen, don’t
spray on the screen directly. Note: Be sure to turn off the GPS navigator before cleaning.
Don't drop or hit the navigator or you will cause damage to the high-precision
components or screen.
Note: Accidental damage is not covered by the warranty.
Don’t use it in extreme temperatures (high temperature above 60°, low temperature
under-10°), near high voltage equipment, in dusty environments, do not subject to
electrostatic interference and avoid exposure to any liquid.
Avoid radiated interference: The radiated interference from other electronic products
may affect the display but it will return to normal after suppressing the interference
source. Note: If you carry the unit by air, please put it with your luggage to pass the X-ray
detection system. Avoid scanning by the magnetic detector (at the passage used for
passing) or the magnetic bar (held by the security checker), or it will destroy the
system date in the unit which is not covered under warranty.
Avoid direct, intense light: Don’t use the navigator in high light and ultraviolet
radiation in order to increase the usage life.
