Weight Limitations
The KateZ Lift has a weight limitation of 250 lbs above and beyond the weight of the wheelchair.
WARNING! Adding accessories or a different seat will increase the weight of your wheelchair. Verify with your authorized dealer that the total weight of your wheelchair, KateZ Lift and any other additions does not exceed the maximum allowance for the KateZ Lift.
Seat Positioning Strap
ALWAYS wear your seat positioning strap. Inasmuch as the seat positioning strap is optional on wheelchairs, using it is strongly recommended as an additional safeguard for the wheelchair user. Serious injury can occur in the event of a fall from a wheelchair in a lifted position. If signs of wear appear, belt MUST be replaced IMMEDIATELY.

Lift Stability
KateZ Lift must be used on stable ground. Although sensors will prevent the lift from raising on unstable ground, never use the lift on a slope greater than 5°.or uneven surfaces, on slick or wet surfaces, or surfaces prone to shifting (such as gravel or sand). Using KateZ Lift on unstable ground may adversely affect the stability of the wheelchair, resulting in serious bodily injury to the user and passenger and damage to the wheelchair and surrounding property.
Reaching and Leaning Safety (See the Safety/Handling section for more detailed
information)
Negatively affecting the center of gravity on a wheelchair can easily be done with extended motions such as reaching or leaning. These actions make the wheelchair more prone to tipping over. The consequences of these extended motions are further increased when in a lifted position. Once you affect the center of gravity, the wheelchair is instantly more prone to tipping over. Instead of reaching or leaning, you should do the following:
1. Move the wheelbase as close as possible to where you need to be.
2. Use a tool like an extension grabber to pick up things beyond your reach.

Using the KateZ Lift on unstable ground may adversely affect the stability of the wheelchair, resulting in serious bodily injury to the user and passenger and damage to the wheelchair and surrounding property.
Be aware that carrying heavy objects on your lap while raising the wheelchair may adversely
affect the stability of the wheelchair, resulting in serious bodily injury to the user, damage to the wheelchair and surrounding property.
Many activities require the wheelchair owner to reach, bend and transfer in and out of the
wheelchair. These movements will cause a change to the normal balance, the center of gravity, and the weight distribution of the wheelchair. Practice bending, reaching and transferring activities in several combinations while keeping your center of gravity in the presence of a qualified healthcare professional before attempting active use of the wheelchair in lift position. When reaching, leaning, or bending forward, it is important to keep your center of gravity in the center of the wheelchair to maintain stability and balance.
Reaching, leaning and bending forward - WARNING! DO NOT attempt to reach objects if you
have to move forward in the seat.
Reach forward only as far as your arm will extend without changing your sitting position.
