EZDown Instruction – Generation 3

F FITTED ON THE RIGHT
HAND SIDE OF THIS
VEHICLE.
Warranty voided if:
1. Cable support bracket is not used
2. If both Cables are not used and
Special Washer Item K
Please ensure the cables are free
flowing and not over tightened and
locked in position.
Remove
existing
bolt

NB: Ensure that the
bracket sits tightly
onto hinge and that
there are no gaps
on the top or
bottom of bracket.

Remove existing bolt and
washer and dispose
ED0554

Ensure Top Stud is
completely straight
otherwise please
straighten to achieve
the Tailgate alignment.
See slide 16 for further assistance if
required.
Remove
existing
bolt
Fit the Cable
Support Bracket by
replacing the
removed bolt in
slide 8
Please reconfirm that
the Top Stud is straight
Then fit on the Circlip D
Ensure the Top
Assembly is facing in
the correct direction.
Rounded portion of
Hex to the inner side
of Vehicle Bin.
Ensure Cable Support bracket J is
fitted FLAT onto the Cable Bracket.
Ensure Top Assembly
is fitted as per slide
Fit Damper, piston
rod facing down
onto Bracket Pin.
Bend cable Ferrule
in by 2mm, away
from the damper
Confirm that the Damper has
some movement in the tailgate
open position therefore ensuring
the cables are taking the tailgate
weight and not the damper.
Tailgate Alignment procedure:
1. Your Tailgate is misaligned when your
side top of Tailgate to body is not flush.
2. If the tailgate in relation to the body is
either set to far inward or outward.
IF THERE IS...
Place threaded bar into Top Stud Hole.
Tap gently to straighten until your
threaded bar is straight.
