This guide provides basic instructions for an experienced installer to set up and operate the Extron MSW 4V SDI rs.
Installation
Step 1
Turn all of the equipment off and disconnect it from the power source.
Step 2
Step 3
Connect the video input cable(s) using SDI video inputs 1 through 4 (a). Refer to figure 2 or see “Rear Panel Connections” in the user’s manual for more information.
Figure 1 – Rack shelf mount
Step 4

N
Step 5
If the MSW is to be used as a remote control for a computer or host controller, connect a 9-pin HD connector to a computer, then connect a 5-pole captive screw connector to the RS-232 port (c) on the mini SDI switcher. Protocol for this port is 9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity. Wire the connector as follows: Pin 2 = Tx, Pin 3 = Rx, Pin 5 = Gnd. Refer to figure 3 or see “Serial Communication” in the user’s manual for more information.
Outputs A and B output
an identical signal.
