MAAP Mounting Frame
The Extron MAAP Mounting Frame fits into a GB3 slot in the Ackermann Floor Box and holds up to eight single-space MAAPs. The frame is compatible with most Extron MAAPs. The MAAPs must be positioned to accommodate all cables and connectors.
To install the MAAPs and the mounting frame in the floor box, refer to the illustrations and follow these instructions:
1. Run cables from remote devices to the Ackermann box.
2. Install MAAPs or spacer plates in the mounting frame, using the hex screws provided with the MAAP.
3. Connect the cables to the receptacles on the rear of the MAAPs (see the user’s manual provided with the MAAP).
4. Fit the fixed tab of the frame into one of the five slots on the Ackermann box.
5. Loosen the hex screw on the adjustable tab of the frame.
6. Align the adjustable tab with one of the five available slots in the Ackermann box and slide the tab into the slot. The slots that are available may vary, depending on the configuration of MAAPs used.
N
Ensure all cables have room to bend
without damage. Some configurations of active MAAPs, may require up to 6” (15.2 cm) of total clearance between the raised floor and the underlying floor.
7. Tighten the hex screw on the adjustable tab to secure the frame in place.
8. Connect cables from the local devices to the receptacles on the front of the MAAPs (see the user’s manual provided with the MAAP).
