Extron® AVTrac® Raceway Transition • User Guide
AVTr ac
The AVTrac Raceway Transition provides a clean and efficient transition from the floor‑mounted AVTrac to a wall‑mounted raceway (not provided).
For complete information about installing the AVTrac system, see the AVTrac User Guide, which is available on the Extron website (www.extron.com).
The two available versions are:

z Compatible with most Euro Channel trunk systems. The Euro Channel kit does not have
the rabbit ears.
NOTE: The Euro Channel version fits wall‑mounted raceways with dimensions
90 ‑ 120 mm (3.5 ‑ 4.7 inches) wide x 50 ‑ 65 mm (2.0 ‑ 2.6 inches) deep.
Install either model as follows:
1. Install the AVTrac so that it runs up to and meets
the foot of the wall. Do not fix the cover track to the base track or cover the ramps with carpet at this time.
2. Remove the two screws holding the front plate in
position and lift it away from the transition unit (see the figure at right).
3. Place the transition unit on top of the base track
of the AVTrac and against the wall. Mark the positions of at least two mounting holes in the base.

NOTE: If only two screws are used to secure the raceway transition, they must be in
diagonally opposite corners of the base.
4. Drill holes, 5/32 inches (0.4
cm) diameter and 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm) deep, through the
Wall-mounted Raceway
AVTrac and into the concrete floor.
5. Using the masonry screws
provided, secure the raceway transition unit to the floor.
6. Install the wall‑mounted

raceway following the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
The Wiremold version of the kit has rabbit ears on the sides, which fit inside the raceway.
There are no rabbit ears on the Euro Channel version and the wall‑mounted raceway is secured to the wall so that it sits on top of the transition unit.

7. Run cables to the AVTrac connectivity box through the raceway transition and the
wall‑mounted raceway.
8. Reattach the front plate of the raceway transition, using the screws retained from
step 2. The front plate of the Wiremold version has a top edge that sits in front of the wall‑mounted raceway.
9. Fix the AVTrac cover track in place (see the AVTrac User Guide).
NOTE: The AVTrac top track runs up to the front edge of the raceway transition; the
bottom track runs all the way to the wall, under the raceway transition. When measuring and cutting the top track, remember to account for the depth of the raceway transition (2.5 inches or 6.4 cm. for the Wiremold version; 3.5 inches or
8.9 cm. for the Euro Channel version).
10. Finish off installing the AVTrac as described in the AVTrac User Guide.
11. Finish off installing the wall‑mounted raceway following the instructions provided by
the manufacturer.
