Summit X150 Series Switches Installation Note
This installation note describes how to install and remove the Summit X150 series switches.
This note includes the following sections:
● Safety on page 1
● Installing a Summit X150 Series Switch on page 2
● Connecting Power on page 3
● Connecting Power on page 3
● Removing a Summit X150 Series Switch from a Rack on page 3
NOTE
Optional external redundant power supplies are available for use with the Summit X150 series switches. When a
redundant power supply is used with a Summit X150 series switch, the power supplies (internal and redundant) are
fully fault tolerant and load-sharing. If one power supply fails, the other power supply will provide sufficient power to
operate the switch. The Summit X150-24t and X150-48t switches use the EPS-160 for redundant power; the
Summit X150-24p switch uses the EPS-500 for redundant power. Refer to the Summit Family Switches Hardware
Installation Guide for further details.
Safety
Only trained service personnel should perform service to Extreme Networks switches and their
components. Trained service personnel have read all related installation manuals, have the technical
training and experience necessary to be aware of the hazards to which they are exposed in performing a
task, and are aware of measures to minimize the danger to themselves or other persons.
Before installing a Summit X150 series switch into your network:
● Read the latest installation and safety information provided in the Summit Family Switches Hardware
Installation Guide.
● See Appendix A of the Summit Family Switches Hardware Installation Guide for additional information
