1.3 Explanation:
Your X250 integrated amplifier aspires to be a work of art that also evokes feelings and sensations. It seems to disappear from your listening room and to give way to the musicians who are, after all, the object of our passion. At Extraudio, we strive for the faithful reproduction of the real and authentic live sound of a concert. The X250 does not aspire to be just a piece of technology. Extraudio wagers on a really flat sound, not just neutral but completely flat.
Enjoy the music.
1.1 Welcome:
Thank you and congratulations on the purchase of your new Extraudio Pure Class A X250 integrated amplifier. This Integrated Amplifier is the result of a process of research, development and innovation (R + D + I) carried out over 7 years in the Netherlands by specialized engineers. Extraudio was conceived with the conviction that things can be changed in the high fidelity sector and particularly in High End audio. We have used a very concrete concept as if it were a mantra “less is more” that Mies Van der Rohe popularized and to which Dieter Rams added a new meaning “less is more, but with better execution”. Our aims in the production process are:
• To create not just a perfect piece of kit but to create a perfect music box that conveys a totally transparent, silent and authentic live sound that is energy efficient without losing the magic or the weight and measure of the music.
• To create a beautiful, and straightforward, honest and long-lasting product without pre-setting cost limits.
• To put the end user at the forefront of the creative process. We have achieved all of this with the X250 integrated amplifier and wish you to enjoy your product for many years. Please read this entire manual carefully.

INTRODUCTION
2.3 Power ON/OFF:
Connect the power cable to the rear socket. Make sure the voltage is correct for the X250 Integrated Amplifier, which operates correctly at 220-240VAC, 50 / 60Hz. Once plugged into the wall socket, it is ready to function. The button with the brand logo will light up in orange. The X250 is now in the standby position. Then you must press this logo button or the remote control button , and the logo-button will change colour from orange to white and begin to blink; it will do so for 60 seconds. Start-up has started; a microprocessor will be reviewing all the functions. Please do not disconnect the appliance from the electrical network during this process. After this pre-heating period of 60 seconds, the logo button will remain lit in white.
NOTE:
Those of our products that are equipped with thermionic valves have a soft start system in order to prolong the life of the valves. If you wish to switch off the product, press on the logo button or the button on the remote control. The shutdown process will begin: the logo button will change colour from white to orange and start blinking for 20 seconds. Do not disconnect the product from the power supply until the logo button stops blinking.
Although the X250 does not have many external indicators it performs many functions that we wish to conceal and automate by software (in keeping with our mantra, “less is more”) to improvise of use. The entire product is controlled by a microcontroller and loaded with our proprietary and exclusive software and thus ensures any future upgrading only requires changing the software version.

2.1 Unpacking
Please remember to keep the original packaging. Your product has been thoroughly checked and has passed all the quality controls before being packaged and shipped. Make sure that the packaging is in perfect condition on receiving your product. If you notice any damage, let the carrier know and inform your official distributor. If it is necessary to return the product to the factory, it must be sent in its original packaging. Your official warranty will be voided if it is not returned in the original packaging.
2.2 Placement
Remember to plan the placement of your amplifier before setting it up. If you intend to place the X250 on an item of furniture, you must leave a space of at least 5cm or 2 inches on either side of it in order to provide sufficient space for ventilation. Excessive heating can shorten the service life of the internal components and even cause equipment failure. It is also necessary to leave enough space at the back of the amplifier in order to facilitate connections with other components and speakers.
INSTALLATION

SN:
This triangle means, “dangerous voltage not insulated inside the equipment and of sufficient magnitude to constitute a danger of electric shock to people”.
The exclamation mark within this triangle signifies and warns the user that this product contains important maintenance, technical service and operational instructions in the literature that accompanies it.
Speaker connection. Output terminals L + R. Connect the speakers correctly, the right one to the terminal marked R and the left one to the terminal marked L. Always check the polarity of the speaker wires; the + sign indicates the red or positive connector and the - sign indicates the black or white connector.
You can use banana plugs or bare wire; the recommended gauge of the speaker wire is from 2mm to 4mm. You can also connect our Active Speaker Cable to get the most out of your X250 integrated amplifier as well as your speakers.
NOTA: Please do not cross or reverse the polarity of the speakers and do not power up the amplifier without connecting the speakers as this can cause very serious damage to the system and void the official product warranty. The recommended speaker load is 2 Ohm to 8 Ohm.
Power supply socket. Keep in mind that for a better sound you must connect the phase of all your audio products correctly. (See. Page 6.3 of this manual)
IN processor input connections or audio bypass inputs for home cinema. These two inputs are designed to enable connecting an AV preamplifier to the X250 Integrated Amplifier, which then acts as a power stage and turns off all other systems and the inbuilt preamplifier.
This stereo RCA and XLR input is marked on the front panel with the acronym PROC and is activated by setting position 6 with the front panel selector knob.
NOTE: Take great care when using the X250 as a power amp as it operates at full power and could cause damage to your speakers.
Balanced XLR input of high quality and very low noise with galvanic insulation.
Stereo RCA inputs. The Phono input is the only special one in the X250. We have an optional Extraudio Phono Preamp MM PH1. Please consult your Extraudio dealer or ourselves about this option and its installation or, if you prefer, we can configure this input as a bypass so that it can be used with an external Phono preamp.

Extraudio remote control
Our remote control has been conceived from a different approach – seeking the convenience of the user. Extraudio wished to offer battery life and operating distance as its main features and these objectives have been achieved:
The remote control does not have removable batteries but has a rechargeable internal battery that only needs recharging after 100 days in conditions of normal use. It includes an integrated USB battery charger with a charge indicator that can be used with any USB port such as a PC. When you connect the USB cable to the remote control, the battery charge LED lights up and when the battery is fully charged the LED will turn off indicating that the battery is 100% charged.
The transmission range is from 20 to 80 meters.
The design is minimalist according to Mies Van Der Rohe’s philosophy of “less is more”. There are only four buttons: On, Off, Volume up and down and Mute. The concept behind this remote control is unusual but in the end it is a more efficient and ergonomic creation.

Some advice and tips/ Recommendations
6.1 Cleaning and maintenance
Unplug the X250 Extra Pure Class AD Integrated Amplifier unit from the wall socket outlet before cleaning it. The chassis can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. It is essential that the cloth does not loose lint. The X250 Integrated Amplifier has a layer of anti-fingerprint varnish on the outside and must not be cleaned with solvents or any chemical product. A special liquid for painted surfaces or a non-abrasive polish can be used if you wish
6.2 Product run-in and operating temperature/ Running in and warming up
Extraudio is fully aware of the empirical concept of running in audio products equipped with thermionic valves and we can affirm that our valve products have a running in period of between 100 to 400 hours of operation. Once run in, the sound is rounder and gains in soundstage and spatiality. The running in process should be carried out with music regardless of the output volume.
Another process is warming up; for a valve audio product to sound properly, it must be turned on for about 45 minutes. This is the time it takes for the product to reach its optimum temperature and point of electrical functioning. It will sound better from 45 minutes onwards.
6.3 Fuse and *phase
Do not tamper with the top plate of the appliance or the warranty could be voided. If the equipment has any problems please contact your official distributor or us. The fuses are inside the device and should only be replaced by qualified personnel.
For 200-240 volts AC, proper rating is 8 Amp. Fuses must be of T (temporized) type.
Do NOT use fuses with wound coil filaments.
In case of doubt, always install Fast Blow types.
*The phase of a power supply can influence the sound of your audio products, please check that all the
devices are connected in the same way and that the phase is correctly connected. Check that the positive phase or pole of the electrical current input is connected to the terminal on the left of its power connector.
6.4 Use electric power line conditioner
We have found that the use of some power conditioners can perform the function of “cleaning” the power supply and eliminating electrical interference and so improving the sound.
6.5 Grounding
The X250 Integrated Amplifier is designed to be connected to a ground connection. For optimum performance, it is very important that the grounding is correct and is enabled in your listening room.
