WICHTIGE SICHERHEITSVORSCHRIFTEN

Lesen Sie aufmerksam die
Bedienungsanleitung, bevor Sie Ihr Gerät
benutzen, und befolgen Sie immer die
Sicherheitsvorschriften und die
Gebrauchsanweisung.
Wichtig: Das Gerät kann von Kindern ab 8
Jahren und von Personen mit einer
körperlichen, sensorischen, geistigen oder
motorischen Behinderung oder einem Mangel
an Erfahrung und Kenntnissen verwendet
werden, sofern diese Personen beaufsichtigt
oder über den sicheren Gebrauch des Geräts
unterrichtet wurden und die damit
verbundenen Gefahren verstanden haben.
Kinder dürfen nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.
Reinigung und Benutzer-Wartung dürfen
nicht durch Kinder durchgeführt werden, es
sei denn, sie sind älter als 8 Jahre und
beaufsichtigt. Lassen Sie Ihr Gerät und sein
Netzkabel nie unbeaufsichtigt und in
Reichweite von Kindern jünger als 8 Jahre
oder unverantwortlichen Personen,
besonders wenn es an der Steckdose hängt
oder wenn es abkühlt.

 Kontrollieren Sie, ob die Netzspannung mit

der auf dem Gerät vermerkten Spannung
übereinstimmt, bevor Sie das Gerät
benutzen.

 Lassen Sie Ihr Gerät niemals beim

Gebrauch unbeaufsichtigt.

 WICHTIG: Wenn die Absenktaste

während des Betriebes blockiert (z.B.
wegen zu dicker Brotscheiben) und
das Brot fängt an anzubrennen, ziehen
Sie sofort den Stecker aus der
Steckdose und lassen Sie das Gerät in
einem ausreichend belüfteten Raum
vollständig abkühlen, bevor Sie es
entleeren und reinigen. Wenn das
Problem anhält, obwohl die
Brotscheiben der Größe der Schlitze
entsprechen, benutzen Sie das Gerät
nicht, sondern wenden Sie sich an
einen Elektrofachmann(*).

 Überprüfen Sie regelmäßig, dass das Gerät

nicht beschädigt ist. Bei Beschädigung der
Anschlussleitung oder des Gerätes,
letzteres nicht benutzen, sondern von
einem Elektro-Fachmann(*) überprüfen
bzw. reparieren lassen. Eine beschädigte
Anschlussleitung muss von einem
Elektrofachmann(*) ausgewechselt
werden, damit jede Gefahr gemieden wird.

 Benutzen Sie das Gerät nur zu

Haushaltszwecken, wie in der
Bedienungsanleitung angegeben.

 Tauchen Sie das Gerät niemals in Wasser

oder andere Flüssigkeiten, weder zum
Reinigen, noch zu einem anderen Zweck.
Geben Sie das Gerät niemals in die
Spülmaschine. Sonst kann das Gerät
beschädigt werden.

 Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht in der Nähe

einer Wärmequelle.

 Entfernen Sie den Stecker aus der

Steckdose, bevor Sie das Gerät reinigen
um Elektroschocks zu vermeiden.

 Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht im Freien

und bewahren Sie es an einem trockenen
Platz auf.

 Benutzen Sie nur Zubehör, welches vom

Lieferanten empfohlen wurde. Anderes
Zubehör stellt eine Gefahr für den
Benutzer dar und das Gerät könnte
dadurch beschädigt werden.

 Ziehen Sie niemals an der

Anschlussleitung, um das Gerät zu
bewegen. Achten Sie darauf, dass
zufälligerweise die Anschlussleitung nicht
irgendwo hängen bleibt und dies zum Fall
des Gerätes führen könnte. Wickeln Sie die
Anschlussleitung nicht um das Gerät oder
knicken Sie sie nicht.

 Stellen Sie das Gerät auf einen Tisch oder

auf eine ebene Fläche damit es nicht
umfällt.

 Achten Sie darauf, dass das Gerät

vollständig erkaltet ist, bevor Sie es
reinigen oder wegräumen.

 Achten Sie darauf, dass die

Anschlussleitung nicht mit den heißen
Teilen des Gerätes in Kontakt kommt.
Berühren Sie nicht die heißen Teile des
Gerätes.

 Achten Sie darauf, dass die heißen Teile

während des Toastens nicht mit leicht
entflammbarem Material, wie Gardinen,
Tischdecken, usw. in Berührung kommen,
da das Brot Feuer fangen, und so Brand
verursachen könnte. Das Gerät sollte
mindestens 1 Meter von dem leicht
entflammbaren Material entfernt sein.

 Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht zum

Auftauen von Nahrung (außer Brot) und
legen Sie keine Brotscheiben in das Gerät,
die mit Butter bzw. Margarine geschmiert
sind oder deren Dicke das Hochspringen
der Brotscheiben verhindert. Beachten Sie
besonders diese Vorschriften, da letztere
oft nicht befolgt werden und die Toaster
deshalb auch die Ursache von
Wohnungsbränden sein können.

 Entfernen Sie regelmäßig die Brotkrümel

aus dem Gerät. Ziehen Sie dazu erst den
Stecker aus der Steckdose. Siehe
Abschnitt "Pflege des Toasters und
Reinigung".

 Benutzen Sie beim Reinigen keine

Topfkratzer, da dies im Nachhinein zu
einem Kurzschluss führen könnte.

 Ihr Gerät darf niemals über eine externe

Zeitschaltuhr oder irgendein anderes,
separates Fernbedienungssystem
eingeschaltet werden.

 Achtung: Wenn das Symbol auf einer

bestimmten Fläche des Gerätes angebracht
wurde, ist dies ein Warnhinweis. Dieses
Symbol bedeutet: ACHTUNG, diese Fläche
kann während des Gebrauches heiß
werden.

Das Symbol wurde immer auf der
Oberfläche mit der höchsten Temperatur
angebracht. Aber auch die anderen
metallischen oder nichtmetallischen
Oberflächen können während des
Gebrauches heiß werden. Deshalb ist es
ratsam, sie immer mit Vorsicht zu
handhaben und wenn möglich mit
hitzebeständigen Handschuhen oder einem
anderen Temperaturschutz zu arbeiten. Im
Zweifelsfall bezüglich der Temperatur einer
bestimmten Oberfläche ist es immer
ratsam, sich zu schützen.

Importeurs, der für derartige Reparaturen

wenden Sie sich bitte an diesen

ACHTUNG: Solange Sie den Stecker nicht in die Steckdose gesteckt haben, wird
die Absenktaste nicht einrasten!

VOR DEM ERSTEN GEBRAUCH

Um Produktionsreste zu beseitigen, nehmen Sie das Gerät mindestens 2 Mal ohne Brot in
Betrieb. Stellen Sie den Bräunungsregler dabei auf mäßige Leistungsstufe. Es könnte dabei
Rauch entstehen.

GEBRAUCH

• Vor der ersten Benutzung kontrollieren Sie, ob das Gerät sauber ist (siehe Abschnitt

“Pflege des Toasters und Reinigung”), da es in direktem Kontakt mit dem Brot ist.

Kontrollieren Sie auch, ob keine Gegenstände in die Spalte gefallen sind.

• Schließen Sie das Gerät nur an Schukosteckdosen an.

• Geben Sie die Scheiben Brot in die Spalte (für Baguette: Schneiden Sie das Baguette

so, das es in den Längsschlitz hineinpasst). Ihr Gerät ist sowohl für Baguette als auch
für Toasts oder andere Scheiben Brot geeignet.

• Dann drücken Sie die Absenktaste herunter bis zum Einrasten (gleichzeitig schließt sich
das Gitter in der Spalte um das Brot, um es in einer geeigneten Entfernung von der
Heizspirale zu halten). Wenn die Absenktaste nicht einrasten sollte, kontrollieren Sie, ob
das Gerät an die Stromversorgung angeschlossen ist (die Taste rastet nur bei
anliegender Spannung).

• Sie können den Bräunungsgrad regeln, um ein mehr oder weniger geröstetes Toastgut
zu bekommen, indem Sie den Bräunungsregler auf eine Stellung von 1 bis 7 stellen.
Dafür brauchen Sie nur im Uhrzeigersinn zu drehen, um den Grad zu erhöhen und im
Gegenuhrzeigersinn, um den Grad zu verringern. Je höher die Zahl ist, desto mehr
erhöht sich der Bräunungsgrad.

• Der Röstvorgang kann durch Betätigen der Stopp-Taste (CANCEL) jederzeit unterbrochen
werden.

• Die Taste zum Aufwärmen (REHEAT) ermöglicht es, entweder schon geröstetes Brot
aufzuwärmen, oder nicht genug geröstetes Brot eine kurze Zeit lang zu rösten, ohne die
Bräunungsgradregelung zu ändern.

• Die Taste zum Auftauen (DEFROST) ermöglicht es, Brot zu rösten, das zuvor gefroren
wurde.

• Am Ende des Zyklus entsperrt die Absenktaste und Sie können den Toast entnehmen.

• Nach dem Gebrauch ziehen Sie immer den Stecker aus der Steckdose und lassen Sie

das Gerät abkühlen, bevor Sie es wegräumen oder bewegen.

• Ein Kabelfach ist auf der unteren Seite Ihres Toasters vorgesehen. Dazu wickeln Sie
die Anschlussleitung um die Befestigungshaken am Boden des Gerätes.

BRÖTCHENAUFSATZ

Ihr Gerät ist mit einem Brötchenaufsatz ausgerüstet. So können Sie Ihre Brötchen auf
diesem Aufsatz aufbacken bzw. rösten.

PFLEGE DES TOASTERS UND REINIGUNG

• Vor der Reinigung immer den Stecker ziehen.

• Eine Krümelschublade an der Unterseite des Gerätes ermöglicht es, die

angesammelten Brotkrümel aus dem Toaster zu entfernen. Um sie zu öffnen, ziehen
Sie den Hebel an der Unterseite des Gerätes. Um sie wieder zu schließen, gehen Sie
umgekehrt vor.

• Achtung! Die Krümelschublade muss regelmäßig entleert werden, da zu viele
Krümel ansonsten brennen könnten und das Gerät demzufolge Feuer fangen
könnte.

• Die Außenseite können Sie mit einem sauberen, trockenen oder leicht angefeuchteten
Tuch abwischen.

• TOASTER NIEMALS IN WASSER ODER ANDERE FLÜSSIGKEITEN TAUCHEN.

• Sonstige Reinigungs- und Wartungsarbeiten sind einer offiziellen Kundendienststelle

zu überlassen. Sonst erlischt die Garantie.

UMWELTSCHUTZ – RICHTLINIE 2012/19/EU

Zum Schutz unserer Umwelt und unserer Gesundheit sind Elektro- und Elektronik­Altgeräte nach bestimmten Regeln zu entsorgen. Dies fordert den Einsatz sowohl des
Herstellers bzw. Lieferanten als auch des Verbrauchers. Aus diesem Grund darf dieses

Gerät, wie das Symbol auf dem Typenschild bzw. auf der Verpackung zeigt, nicht in
den unsortierten Restmüll gegeben werden. Der Verbraucher hat das Recht, dieses Gerät
über kommunale Sammelstellen zu entsorgen; von dort aus wird die spezifische

Garantiebedingungen

Die nachstehenden Bedingungen, die Voraussetzungen und
Umfang unserer Garantieleistung beschreiben, lassen das
Gewährleistungsrecht des Endabnehmers unberührt.
Für dieses Gerät leisten wir Garantie gemäß nachstehenden
Bedingungen:
Als Käufer eines Exquisit – Gerätes haben Sie eine
Herstellergarantie (2 Jahre ab Kaufdatum).

Während dieser Garantiezeit haben Sie die Möglichkeit, Ihre
Ansprüche direkt in der Serviceplattform des Herstellers unter

www.ggv-service.de

gelten zu machen.

Beim Abschluss einer zusätzlichen Garantie zwischen Ihnen und
Ihrem Händler sind jegliche Ansprüche nach Ablauf der 24­monatigen Herstellergarantie ausgeschlossen. Wenden Sie sich in
diesem Fall direkt an Ihrem Händler.

Leistungsdauer

Die Garantie läuft 24 Monate ab Kaufdatum (Kaufbeleg ist
vorzulegen). Während den ersten 6 Monaten werden Mängel am
Gerät unentgeltlich beseitigt, Voraussetzung ist, dass das Gerät
ohne besonderen Aufwand für Reparaturen zugänglich ist. In den
weiteren 18 Monaten ist der Käufer verpflichtet nachzuweisen,
dass der Mangel bereits bei Lieferung bestand.

Bei gewerblicher Nutzung (z.B. in Hotels, Kantinen), oder bei
Gemeinschaftsnutzung durch mehrere Haushalte, beträgt die
Garantie 12 Monate ab Kaufdatum (Kaufbeleg ist vorzulegen).
Während den ersten 6 Monaten werden Mängel am Gerät
unentgeltlich beseitigt, Voraussetzung ist, dass das Gerät ohne
besonderen Aufwand für Reparaturen zugänglich ist. In den

weiteren 6 Monaten ist der Käufer verpflichtet nachzuweisen,
dass der Mangel bereits bei Lieferung bestand.

Durch die Inanspruchnahme der Garantie verlängert sich die
Garantie weder für das Gerät, noch für die neu eingebauten Teile.

Umfang der Mängelbeseitigung

Innerhalb der genannten Fristen beseitigen wir alle Mängel am
Gerät, die nachweisbar auf mangelhafte Ausführung oder
Materialfehler zurückzuführen sind. Ausgewechselte Teile gehen
in unser Eigentum über.

Ausgeschlossen sind:

Normale Abnutzung, vorsätzliche oder fahrlässige Beschädigung,
Schäden, die durch Nichtbeachtung der Gebrauchsanweisung,
unsachgemäße Aufstellung, bzw. Installation oder durch
Anschluss an falsche Netzspannung entstehen, Schäden, aufgrund
von chemischer, bzw. elektrothermischer Einwirkung oder durch
sonstige anormale Umweltbedingungen, Glas-, Lack- oder Emaille
Schäden und evtl. Farbunterschiede sowie defekte Glühlampen.

Ebenso sind Mängel am Gerät ausgeschlossen, wenn die aufgrund
von Transportschäden zurückzuführen sind. Wir erbringen auch
dann keine Leistungen, wenn – ohne unsere besondere,
schriftliche Genehmigung – von nicht ermächtigten Personen am
Exquisit-Gerät Arbeiten vorgenommen oder Teile fremder
Herkunft verwendet wurden. Diese Einschränkung gilt nicht für
mangelfreie, durch einen qualifizierten Fachmann mit unseren
Originalteilen, durchgeführte Arbeiten zur Anpassung des Gerätes
an die technischen Schutzvorschriften eines anderen EU-Landes.

Geltungsbereich

Unsere Garantie gilt für Geräte, die in einem EU-Land erworben
wurden und die in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland oder
Österreich in Betrieb sind.

Für Geräte, die in einem EU-Land erworben und in ein anderes
EU-Land gebracht wurden, werden Leistungen im Rahmen der
jeweils landesüblichen Garantiebedingungen erbracht. Eine
Verpflichtung zur Leistung der Garantie besteht nur dann, wenn
das Gerät den technischen Vorschriften des Landes, in dem der
Garantieanspruch geltend gemacht wird, entspricht.

Für Reparaturaufträge ausserhalb der Garantiezeit gilt:

Wird ein Gerät repariert, sind die Reparaturrechnungen sofort
fällig und ohne Abzug zu bezahlen.

• Wird ein Gerät überprüft, bzw. eine angefangene Reparatur

nicht zu Ende geführt, werden Anfahrt- und
Arbeitspauschalen berechnet.

• Die Beratung durch unser Kundenberatungszentrum ist

unentgeltlich

Please read these instructions carefully
before using the appliance, and always follow
the safety and operating instructions.
Important: This appliance can be used by
children over 8 years old and people with
reduced physical, sensory or mental
capacities or with a lack of experience or
knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instructions concerning the
safe use of the appliance and the risks
involved. Children shall not play with the
appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be made by children unless they are
older than 8 years and supervised. Never
leave the appliance and its cord unsupervised
and within reach of children less than 8 years
old or irresponsible persons, especially when
it is plugged into the wall or when it is
cooling down.

 Check that your mains voltage corresponds

to that stated on the appliance.

 Never leave the appliance unsupervised

when in use.

 IMPORTANT: If the bread carriage handle

gets blocked during use (e.g. because the
bread slices are too thick) & the bread
starts burning, unplug the appliance
immediately and let it cool down before
emptying and cleaning it. Should the
problem persist, contact a competent
qualified electrician (*).

 From time to time check the appliance for

damages. Never use the appliance if cord
or appliance shows any signs of damage.
In that case, repairs should be made by a
competent qualified electrician(*). Should
the cord be damaged, it must be replaced
by a competent qualified electrician(*) in
order to avoid all danger.

 Only use the appliance for domestic

purposes and in the way indicated in these
instructions.

 Never immerse the appliance in water or

any other liquid for any reason
whatsoever. Never place it into the
dishwasher. Otherwise the appliance may
be damaged.

 Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
 Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance

from the power supply to avoid electric
shocks.

 Never use the appliance outside and

always place it in a dry environment.

 Never use accessories which are not

recommended by the producer. They could
constitute a danger to the user and risk to
damage the appliance.

 Never move the appliance by pulling the

cord. Make sure the cord cannot get
caught in any way. Do not wind the cord
around the appliance and do not bend it.

 Stand the appliance on a table or flat

surface.

 Make sure the appliance has cooled down

before cleaning and storing it.

 Make sure the cord never comes into

contact with the hot parts of the appliance.
Never touch the hot parts of the appliance.

 Make sure the appliance never comes into

contact with inflammable materials, such as
curtains, cloth, etc. when it is in use, as the
bread might burn and fire might occur. Keep
a distance of at least 1 metre between the
appliance and the curtains.

 Do not use the appliance for defrosting

food (except bread) and only insert
unbuttered slices of bread of which the
thickness does not risk to prevent the
bread from coming up. Be extremely strict
about this as toasters are the cause of
many fires when these elementary safety
precautions are not observed.

 Empty the appliance frequently of

breadcrumbs. Make sure the appliance is
always unplugged before emptying it.
Check the "Maintenance and Cleaning"
section.

 When cleaning the appliance, do not use

metallic scourers in order to avoid any
future risk of electric short-circuit.

 Your appliance must never be switched on

through an external timer or any kind of
separate remote control system.

 Please note: Should the symbol be

indicated on a certain surface, you need to
be careful when handling the product. This
symbol means: CAUTION, this surface may
get very hot during use.

The symbol is always put on the surface
with the highest temperature, however the
other metallic or non-metallic surfaces can
also become very hot during use and it is
therefore advisable to always handle them
with care and if possible with the help of
isothermal gloves or other thermal
protection. In case of doubt concerning the
temperature of a certain surface it is
always preferable to protect oneself.

(*) Competent qualified electrician: after­sales department of the producer or importer
or any person who is qualified, approved and
competent to perform this kind of repairs in
order to avoid all danger. In case of need
you should return the appliance to this
electrician (www.ggv-service.de).

CAUTION: the bread carriage handle will not stay down if the appliance is not
plugged in!

BEFORE USING THE TOASTER FOR THE FIRST TIME

In order to eliminate any manufacturing residues, operate the toaster a couple of times
without bread with the browning control selector on a medium power level. Some smoke
might escape.

OPERATION

• Before using your appliance for the first time, check if it is clean (see “Maintenance
and cleaning”) as it comes into direct contact with bread. Check if any object has

fallen into the slot.

• Connect the appliance only to a mains earthed wall socket.

• Place the bread slices in the slot (for French bread, cut a loaf shorter than the slot,

then cut it in two pieces along its length). Your appliance is provided to receive French
bread, but also pieces of toast or other bread slices if their thickness and their length
are shorter than the one of the slot.

• Press down the bread carriage handle until it stops (in the same time, the grid inside
the slot will tighten around the bread in order to keep it away from the heating wires).
Then release the pressure and the handle will stay in the lower position, which means
that the heating process has begun. If the handle comes up immediately, check if the
appliance is plugged in as it blocks only when the unit is plugged in.

• You can adjust the browning intensity to obtain a more or less toasted bread by
positioning the browning control selector to one of the degrees marked from 1 to 7.
Therefore you only have to turn clockwise to increase the intensity, and anticlockwise
to decrease it. The higher the number is, the more toasted the bread will be.

• During the functioning, if you think that the bread is toasted enough or for another
reason, you can break the heating process simply by pressing the cancel button
(CANCEL).

• The reheat button (REHEAT) allows you to reheat already toasted bread or to toast
bread which is not toasted enough during a short time without modifying the browning
degree.

• The defrost button (DEFROST) allows you to toast bread that has been frozen
beforehand.

• Always unplug the appliance after use and let it cool down before handling or storing
it.

• A cord winder is foreseen on the bottom of the appliance: hooks. When you store your
appliance, wind the cord around the hooks.

RACK FOR BUN WARMING

Your appliance is provided with a rack for bun warming. To warm the buns just unfold the
support on the top of the toaster.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

• Before attempting any cleaning operation, make sure the toaster is unplugged from
the supply socket and fully cooled down.

• To remove bread crumbs, slide the crumb tray situated on the side of the appliance.

• Caution! It is very important to empty the crumb tray regularly. Crumbs that

have accumulated in the toaster might burn and the appliance might catch
fire.

• Never use sharp objects to clean the toaster. Doing so could damage the appliance.

• To clean the exterior surfaces, simply wipe over with a soft damp cloth.

• ON NO ACCOUNT MUST THE TOASTER BE IMMERSED IN WATER OR ANY OTHER

LIQUID.

• All other maintenance and repair should be performed by a qualified technician. No
guarantee claims will be accepted if the appliance has been opened or damaged
previously.

PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT – DIRECTIVE 2012/19/EU

In order to preserve our environment and protect human health, the waste electrical and
electronic equipment should be disposed of in accordance with specific rules with the

implication of both suppliers and users. For this reason, as indicated by the symbol on
the rating label or on the packaging, your appliance should not be disposed of as unsorted
municipal waste. The user has the right to bring it to a municipal collection point
performing waste recovery by means of reuse, recycling or use for other applications in
accordance with the directive.

Warranty Conditions

The following conditions describe the conditions and
scope of our warranty and do not affect the warranty
rights of the end user.
This device is guaranteed under the following
conditions:
As the buyer of an Exquisit device, you possess a
manufacturer's warranty (2 years from date of
purchase).

During this warranty period, you have the option to
make your claims directly in the manufacturer's
service platform at www.ggv-service.de.

Upon conclusion of an additional warranty between
you and your dealer, all claims are excluded after the
expiry of the 24-month manufacturer's warranty. In
this case, contact your dealer directly.

Period of indemnification

The warranty shall run for 24 months starting from
the purchase date (proof of purchase must be
submitted). During the first 6 months defects in the
appliance will be eliminated free of charge, provided
that the appliance is accessible for repairs without
any particular effort. In the further 18 months the
buyer undertakes to prove that the defect already
existed at the time of delivery of the appliance.
In the case of commercial use (e.g. in hotels or
cafeterias), or in the event of community use by
several households, the warranty amounts to 12
months starting from the date of purchase (proof of
purchase must be submitted). During the first 6
months defects in the appliance will be eliminated
free of charge, provided that the appliance is
accessible for repairs without any particular effort. In
the further 6 months the buyer undertakes to prove
that the defect already existed at the time of delivery
of the appliance.

If a claim is made on the warranty, the warranty shall
not be extended either for the appliance or for the
newly incorporated parts.

Scope of the Defect Removal
Within the periods mentioned we will eliminate all

defects from the appliance, which are to be
demonstrably attributed to unsatisfactory execution or
material defects. Replaced parts are transferred to our
ownership.

The following are excluded:

Normal wear, deliberate or negligent damage, damage
that is caused by non-compliance with the operating
instruction, inappropriate setup or installation or due to
connection to the wrong mains voltage, damage due to
a chemical or an electro-thermal effect or due to other
abnormal environmental conditions, glass, lacquer or
enamel damage and possibly differences in colour as
well as defective bulbs. Likewise, appliance defects are
excluded if they are to be attributed to transport
damage.

Also, we don’t provide any services if work is
undertaken on appliances by unauthorized persons at
Exquisit or if parts of foreign origin are used without
our specific written permission. This restriction does not
apply to defect-free work performed by a qualified
specialist with our original parts to adjust the appliance
to comply with the technical protection regulations of
another European Union country.

Area of applicability

Our warranty applies to appliances that were purchased
in a country of the European Union and that are in
operation in the Federal Republic of Germany or
Austria.

For appliances that were purchased in a country of the
European Union and brought into another European
Union country, services are provided under the
customary warranty conditions of the country. An
obligation to perform under the terms of the warranty
only exists if the appliance is in compliance with the

technical regulations of the country, in which the
warranty claim is enforced.

For repair orders outside of the warranty period, the
following shall apply:

If an appliance is repaired, the repair invoices are to be
paid immediately without any deduction.

If an appliance is examined and/or a repair that has been
started has not been completed, lump sums will be
calculated for travel expenses and work. Consultation with
our customer advisory service center shall be free of charge.

préalable, d’une surveillance ou
d’instructions concernant son utilisation en

toute sécurité et sur les risques encourus.
Les enfants ne doivent surtout pas jouer

avec l’appareil. Le nettoyage et la

maintenance ne doivent pas être effectués

par des enfants à moins qu’ils aient plus de 8
ans et qu’ils soient supervisés. Ne laissez

jamais votre appareil et son câble
d’alimentation sans surveillance et à la
portée des enfants de moins de 8 ans ou des
personnes non responsables, surtout lorsque
celui-ci est sous tension ou pendant sa phase
de refroidissement.

 Avant d'utiliser l'appareil, vérifiez que la

tension du réseau correspond bien à celle
de l'appareil.

 Ne laissez jamais votre appareil sans

surveillance lorsque celui-ci est en marche.

 IMPORTANT: Au cas où la manette

d’enclenchement reste bloquée

pendant le fonctionnement (tranches
de pains trop grosses par exemple) et
que le pain commence à carboniser,
débranchez immédiatement votre
appareil et laissez le refroidir
complètement dans un endroit
suffisamment ventilé avant de
procéder à son vidage et nettoyage
complets. Si le problème persiste
alors que les tranches sont adaptées à
la taille de la fente, n’utilisez plus
votre appareil et faites appel à un
service qualifié compétent(*) pour
réparation.

 Vérifiez régulièrement l’état de votre

appareil et s’il est endommagé de quelque

façon que ce soit, ne l'utilisez pas mais
faites-le vérifier et réparer par un service
qualifié compétent(*). Si le câble est
endommagé, il doit être obligatoirement
remplacé par un service qualifié
compétent(*) afin d’éviter tout danger.

 Utilisez l'appareil uniquement pour des

usages domestiques et de la manière
indiquée dans la notice.

 Ne plongez jamais l'appareil dans l'eau ou

dans tout autre liquide ni pour son
nettoyage ni pour toute autre raison. Ne le
mettez jamais dans le lave-vaisselle. Sinon
l’appareil pourrait être endommagé.

 N'utilisez pas l'appareil près de sources de

chaleur.

 La fiche doit être débranchée avant de

nettoyer votre appareil et de le ranger afin
d’éviter des chocs électriques.

 Veillez à ne pas utiliser l'appareil à

l'extérieur et entreposez-le dans un endroit
sec.

 Ne pas utiliser des accessoires non

recommandés par le fabricant, cela peut

présenter un danger pour l’utilisateur et
risque d’endommager l’appareil.

 Ne déplacez jamais l’appareil en tirant sur

le câble. Veillez à ce que le cordon

d’alimentation ne puisse être

accidentellement accroché et ce, afin

d’éviter toute chute de l’appareil. Évitez
d’enrouler le cordon autour de l’appareil et

ne le tordez pas.

 Posez cet appareil sur une table ou un

support suffisamment stable pour éviter sa
chute.

 Veuillez laisser refroidir votre appareil

avant nettoyage et avant rangement.

 Veillez à ce que le cordon n’entre pas en

contact avec des surfaces chaudes de

l’appareil. Vous-même, veillez à ne pas
toucher les surfaces chaudes de l’appareil.

 Veillez à ce que l’appareil ne rentre pas en

contact avec des matériaux facilement
inflammables comme les rideaux, les
tissus,... ou ne se trouve à proximité de

ces matériaux lorsqu’il est en

fonctionnement car le pain peut
s'enflammer et le feu pourrait se déclarer.
Respectez une distance minimum de 1

mètre entre l’appareil et d’éventuels

rideaux.

 N’utilisez pas cet appareil pour la

décongélation d’aliments (autres que du
pain) et n’insérez que des tranches de pain

non-tartinées de quelque matière que ce

soit et dont l’épaisseur ne risque pas de

gêner la remontée. Soyez très rigoureux à
ce sujet car les grille-pain sont causes de
beaucoup d’incendies suite à un non-
respect des élémentaires consignes de
sécurité.

 Veillez à vider fréquemment l’appareil de

ses miettes de pain. A ce propos, veillez à
toujours débrancher votre appareil avant
de procéder à cette opération. Référez­vous à la rubrique "Nettoyage".

 Lors d’un nettoyage de l’appareil, veillez à

ne pas utiliser d’éponges à récurer
métalliques afin d’éviter un futur risque de

court-circuit électrique.

 Votre appareil ne doit jamais être mis en

fonctionnement par le biais d’une minuterie
extérieure ou d’un autre système de

commande à distance séparé.

 Note: Lorsque le symbole est apposé

sur une surface particulière, il accentue la
mise en garde et signifie: ATTENTION,
cette surface peut devenir très chaude
pendant l'utilisation.
Le symbole est toujours apposé sur la
surface dont la température est la plus
élevée, cependant les températures des
autres surfaces métalliques

ou non peuvent aussi devenir très
chaudes pendant l'utilisation et il convient
donc de toujours les manipuler avec
précaution et si possible au moyen de
gants isothermes ou autres dispositifs de
protection thermique. En cas de doute sur

la température d’une surface il sera

toujours préférable de se protéger.

(*) Service qualifié compétent: service après­vente du fabricant ou de l'importateur ou une

personne qualifiée, reconnue et habilitée à
faire ce genre de réparation afin d'éviter tout
danger. Dans tous les cas, veuillez retourner
l'appareil auprès de ce service (www.ggv­service.de).

ATTENTION: tant que l'appareil n'est pas branché, la manette d'enclenchement
ne restera pas abaissée!

AVANT LA PREMIERE UTILISATION

Afin d'éliminer tout résidu provenant de la production, faites fonctionner le grille-pain au
moins deux fois à vide (sans pain) avant la première utilisation, en plaçant le bouton du
thermostat sur un niveau de puissance moyen. Une légère fumée pourra alors se dégager.

UTILISATION

• Avant d’utiliser votre appareil pour la première fois, vérifiez qu’il est propre (voir
paragraphe "Nettoyage") car il est en contact avec le pain. Veillez aussi à ce qu’aucun

objet ne soit tombé dans la fente.

• Branchez votre appareil à une prise de courant équipée d’une borne de terre.

• Placez les tranches de pain dans la fente. Votre appareil est prévu pour recevoir des

toasts ou autres tranches de pain dès lors où l’épaisseur et la longueur entrent dans la

fente.

• Ensuite, baissez la manette d’enclenchement jusqu’à venir en butée (en même temps,
la grille à l’intérieur de la fente se resserrera autour du pain afin de le maintenir

éloigné des fils chauffants). Une fois ceci réalisé, relâchez la pression et elle restera en
position basse signifiant ainsi que la chauffe est en cours. Si la manette remontait
immédiatement, vérifiez que l’appareil est branché car elle se bloque seulement si
l’appareil est sous tension.

• Vous pouvez régler l’intensité de chauffe pour obtenir un pain plus ou moins grillé en
plaçant la manette de réglage d’intensité sur une des positions graduées de 1 à 7.
Pour cela, il vous suffit de la tourner dans le sens horaire pour augmenter l’intensité

et dans le sens inverse pour la diminuer. Plus le chiffre est élevé, plus le pain sera
grillé.

• En cours de fonctionnement, si vous estimez que le pain est suffisamment grillé ou
pour une toute autre raison, vous pouvez interrompre la chauffe, simplement en
appuyant sur le bouton d’arrêt (CANCEL).

• Le bouton de réchauffage (REHEAT) vous permet soit de réchauffer du pain déjà
grillé soit de remettre du pain insuffisamment grillé en chauffe pendant un court délai
sans modifier le réglage d’intensité.

• Le bouton décongélation (DEFROST) vous permet de griller du pain qui avait été
congelé au préalable.

• Débranchez toujours votre appareil après usage et laissez-le refroidir avant de le
ranger ou de le manipuler.

• Un emplacement de rangement de cordon est prévu sur le dessous de votre grille-pain
et se présente sous la forme de pattes. Lors du rangement de votre appareil, enroulez
le cordon autour de ces quatre pattes.
