Important Notes
Data Cable -
It should be segregated from mains cables by a minimum distance
of 300mm, unless the FTP cable itself is mains-rated.
Recommended cable types include:
Belden 9503
RS Components 368-687
One pair is paralleled for GND, one pair paralleled for +12V, and
one pair used for DATA+ and DATA -.
The screen of the data cable must be connected where there is
a terminal provided.
Wall Boxes - To comply with local electrical standards, this product
may be required to be installed into a metal wallbox 45mm deep
(not supplied).
Special Programming - This device will only operate in ‘basic’
mode unless programmed via a computer. Should programming be
required, contact Ex-Or for details. Once the Bus cable is
connected to the device(s), the factory default settings will allow
any control panel to control all channels in all dimmers.
Programming Information - This manual is an installation guide
only. For detailed programming information contact Ex-Or.
Use Category 5 FTP (screened) cable as a minimum.

Connecting Bus Cables
Connect the SceneSelect Bus cable to all devices in a “daisy
chain”. Start at the first device, then loop into and then out of
devices, with a single cable terminating at the last device.
There should not be any spurs or stubs (X, Y or T joins). The first
and last device should terminate one cable, all other devices
should terminate two cables. Devices may be wired in any order.
Physical constraints may dictate that Bus cable spurs are
necessary. In these cases, SBE SceneSelect Bus Extenders
should be used. Consult Ex-Or for details.
A SceneSelect Bus cable that is connected to an energised
dimmer is live. Do not cut or terminate live data cables.
