1- GETTING TO KNOW YOUR PEDESTAL FAN
Congratulations on the purchase of your new Excelair Pedestal Fan.
Before first using your new Pedestal Fan, it is most important that you read and follow
the instructions in this booklet, even if you feel you are familiar with this type of
appliance. Your attention is drawn particularly to the section dealing with IMPORTANT
SAFEGUARDS. Find a safe and convenient place to keep this booklet handy for future
reference.
This appliance has been designed to operate from a standard domestic power outlet. It
is not intended for industrial or commercial use.
Your Pedestal Fan is safe and easy to use. It has been designed to function quietly and
safely under normal circumstance. Your Pedestal Fan is fully portable with a sturdy
stand and contemporary design. Its energy efficient blades circulate cool air while using
less power than a standard light globe. The heavy duty motor is rated for continuous use
to combat long hot summers.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
– Care should be taken when using the appliance due to the emission of hot water
vapour;
– Unplug the appliance during filling and cleaning.
2- IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Please Read all instructions.
- Disconnect the power plug before dismantling, assembling or before
cleaning.
- Avoid touching mobile parts of the fan.
- Make sure the fan is on a dry and even surface.
- Never insert fingers, pencils or any other objects though the guards
whenever the -power plug is connected, especially while running.
- Do not use the appliance for any other purpose than its intended use.
- The fan must not be used if the guards are not fastened according to
instructions.

- When the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its
service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
- Do not use your appliance with an extension cord unless it has been
checked and tested by a qualified electrician or electrical supplier.
3-ASSEMBLY OF YOUR PEDESTAL FAN
Loosen the height adjustment ring and extend the support pole. Initially the support
pole will be held tightly in place. If necessary, use a pair of pliers to grasp the support
pole and pull it into position.
To assemble the safety grille and blade assembly, remove the spinner (by turning it
clockwise), then the locking nut (by turning it anticlockwise) from the motor spindle.
Place the back safety grille into position. Ensure the safety grille fits onto the
locating lugs (Fig.1). If this is done correctly, the safety grille’s carry handle will be at
the top.
Fix the safety grille into position by replacing the locking nut tightly by hand (Fig.1)

The groove in the centre of the fan blade aligns with a T-bar on the motor spindle to
ensure correct positioning.
Fix the blade into place by gently hand tightening the spinner (Fig. 2) anticlockwise
onto the end of the motor spindle. The spinner is self-tightening; do not force it.

Lift out all locking clips on the front safety grille (Fig.3)
Place the safety grille into position and secure it by fastening the clips over the outer
rim. The screw and nut at the bottom of the grille must be fitted (Fig.4).

4- OPERATION OF YOUR PEDESTAL FAN
Remove the cable tie and unravel the cordset before operation.
The fan and motor assembly are attached to a 4-position ratchet. Tilt up or down until
the assembly clicks into the desired position (Fig.5).
Press button 1 for a low speed , 2 for a medium speed and 3 for a high speed. Press
0 to switch the Pedestal Fan off.
To blow air in one direction and stop oscillation, allow the Pedestal Fan to move into
the desired position and pull the clutch knob up. Press the clutch knob down to return
to a normal oscillating function.
5- CARE AND CLEANING
Always disconnect electrical appliances before cleaning them.
To clean the blade and grille assembly, first remove the safety grille, unscrew the
locknut and remove the blade from the Pedestal Fan. Wipe them clean with a slightly
damp sponge.
Clean the motor housing and body assembly with a clean, damp cloth and wipe dry.
Never spray with liquids or submerge the Pedestal Fan in water or any other liquid.

If unit is deemed to be faulty, please return to place of purchase and it will be replaced
during the 12 month warranty period.
