WARNUNG!
blessures.
WARNING!
Do not exceed the specified rates of voltage and flashrate. Do not operate at more than
50 watts of average output power.
The MVS-5770 series illuminators are high intensity, low flash rate, Xenon strobes
for direct illumination. The system consist of a separate power supply and
flashhead chassis. A standard two and one half meter (2½m) interconnecting
cable is shipped pre-wired to the flashhead unit. System installation requires
power supply and flashhead mounting, connecting the flashhead cable, suppling
AC power, trigger and a control voltage signal.
An Infrared (IR) Longpass filter eliminates all the visible light from the Xenon
spectrum. The system is ideal as a high intensity, invisible IR source for
applications such as license plate illumination on moving vehicles or nighttime
surveillance. The flashlamp system is housed in a weather resistant enclosure to
provide protection against harsh environments. This strobe can also be used
without the IR filter for any application that requires a large area of intense
illumination.
The unit has electrical discharge energies up to 50J per flash. Intensity can be
controlled with an external reference signal, and a trigger input can synchronize
the flash with a camera.
The spectral output of a Xenon Flashlamp covers the full range from ultraviolet
(UV) through the visible (VIS) to the infrared. The standard IR filter supplied
removes all the wavelengths under 780nm, making the strobe invisible to the
human eye. The spectral output can be changed to match your application by
simply changing the filter. Additionally, two reflector options are available, a
narrow beam (8) or a wide beam (25) configuration.
Please read and follow all safety precautions, such as:
WARNING!
Strobe lights have been known to trigger seizures
in people with photosensitive epilepsy.
WARNING!
Avoid looking directly at the high intensity light
flash as this can result in damage to the eyes.

1.2. UNPACKING
If the condition of the outer packaging suggests mishandling has occurred,
examine the 5770 Series strobe for any signs of breakage during shipment. The
Xenon Flashlamp is particularly vulnerable to rough treatment during shipment.
Although the utmost care is taken to preserve the integrity of this item, its fragile
nature makes it susceptible to breakage if the container is mishandled in transit.
If there are any obvious signs of damage, contact the carrier immediately and do
not proceed with the installation. It is recommended that the packaging material
be retained and stored in the event that the unit has to be reshipped.
