Failure to do so may be dangerous.
Machines may only be operated by personnel who are familiar with the appropriate safety
regulations.
The machines bear the conformity mark and thus comply with the
• EC Low Voltage Directive (73/23/EEC)
• EC EMC Directive (89/336/EEC)
In compliance with IEC 60974, EN 60974, VDE 0544 the machines can be used in environments
with an increased electrical hazard.

corresponding welding machine. Always observe the safety precautions given in the operating

Alternating current balance (TIG AC)
Max. setting range: -15% to +15% (1% increments). The setting range may also be
lower depending on the factory settin g.
Optimisation of cleaning effect and fusion penetration characteristics.
An increase in the positive half-wave means:
• greater cleaning effect
• higher temperature of the tungsten electrode
• greater ball formation on the tungsten electrode
• broader weld seam, little fusion penetration
An increase in the negative half-wave means:
• narrower weld seam, deeper fusion penetration
• reduced cleaning effect
• lower temperature of the tungsten electrode
• less ball formation on the tungsten electrode

Alternating current frequency (TIG AC)
50 Hz to 200 Hz (1 Hz increments).
Constriction and stabilisation of the arc:
At a higher frequency, the cleaning effect is increased. Particularly thin panels (welding
with a low current), anodised sheet aluminium or highly contaminated articles for
welding can be welded and cleaned perfectly at a high er frequ ency .

Welding current rotary dial
Infinitely adjustable welding current, 0% to 100% of the main current preset on the
power source.

19-pole connection socket (analogue)
For connecting the control lead.
5 Remote control connector cable
Use a 5, 10, or 20 m connector cable, depending on the design, for connecting the
remote control to the power source.

5 Commissioning
5.1 Area of application – proper usage
This remote control may only be connected to the remote control connection socket identified as
such in the welding machine operating instructions.
Always observe the operating instructions for the welding machine.
The remote control must never be connected to a wire feed unit.
The power source must always be switched off before the remote control plug is plugged into the
remote control socket and locked.
5.1.1 For operation only with the following equipment
• TETRIX 270 AC/DC
• TETRIX 350 AC/DC
• TETRIX 500 AC/DC
5.2 Connecting the remote control
• First connect the remote control connector cable to the remote control, then connect to the power
source and lock using the clamping nut. The plug can only be inserted in one direction.
5.3 Basic settings
• Preset the maximum welding current required for the welding task on the welding machine, set the
welding parameters for the welding task correspondingly, and ensure that the unit is set to TIG
welding.
