Evoluent LLC declares that the Evoluent VerticalMouse optical conforms with the following standards, in
accordance with the provisions of the EC Directive 89/366/EEC: EN 55022 (CISPR 22:1985), Class A.
Evoluent LLC warrants that this product will be free from defects in title, materials and manufacturing
workmanship provides 3 years warranty from the date of the purchase. If the product is found to be
defective then, as your sole remedy and as the manufacturer’s only obligation, Evoluent LLC will repair or
replace the product. This warranty is exclusive and is limited to the Evoluent VerticalMouse optical. This
warranty shall not apply to products that have been subjected to abuse, misuse, abnormal electrical or
environmental conditions, or any condition other than what can be considered normal use.
Evoluent LLC makes no other warranties, express, implied or otherwise, regarding the Evoluent
VerticalMouse optical, and specifically disclaims any warranty for merchantability or fitness for a particular
purpose. The exclusion of implied warranties is not permitted in some states and the exclusions specified
herein may not apply to you. This warranty provides you with specific legal rights. There may be other
rights that you have which vary from state to state.
The liability of Evoluent LLC arising from this warranty and sale shall be limited to a refund of the
purchase price. In no event shall Evoluent LLC be liable for costs of procurement of substitute products or
services, or for any lost profits, or for any consequential, incidental, direct or indirect damages, however
caused and on any theory of liability, arising from this warranty and sale. These limitations shall apply
notwithstanding any failure of essential purpose of any limited remedy.

Connecting the Evoluent VerticalMouse
Computer with USB connector (preferable):
1. Computer may be on or off.
2. Insert USB connector on mouse cable into
USB socket in computer.
Computer with PS/2 connector only:
1. Turn off computer.
2. Insert USB connector on mouse cable into
USB-to-PS/2 adapter, and insert adapter
into PS/2 socket in computer.
VerticalMouse Manager Installation
1. Turn on computer.
2. If Add Hardware Wizard pops up to indicate that Windows has detected new
hardware, do not select Search for Best Driver, instead select Display List of All
Drivers.
3. Cursor will not operate yet. Use Tab and arrows keys on keyboard to navigate.
4. When Show Compatible Hardware dialog box appears, select Show Compatible
Hardware.
5. Select Human Interface Device (HID) compatible mouse.
6. Insert the Windows CD as necessary. Pointer functions after HID driver installation.
7. Insert the Evoluent VerticalMouse CD. The installation wizard will start automatically.
Follow the on-screen instructions. Be sure to select USB or PS2 during installation.
Using VerticalMouse Manager
Double click the mouse icon on the right of the task bar to
open Mouse Properties.

Settings tab
Button Assignments allows different functions to be
assigned to the buttons. The top button is fixed to
perform a left click. Buttons 2-5 may be customized
with the pull-down menus to perform different
functions. They are pre-programmed with default
functions.
To change the programming for a button, click on a
menu, and scroll to find the desired function.
Click Restore Default to reset all the buttons to their
original functions.
Pointers Tab
Scheme enables different pointer styles to be
chosen with the pull-down menu.
Customize shows the pointers within each scheme.
The pointers within each scheme can be changed
by clicking the Browse button to find another pointer
style for each pointer function.
Enable pointer shadow check box puts a shadow
under the pointer for a three-dimensional look.

Pointer Options tab
Motion controls the speed that the pointer moves
across the screen.
Enhance pointer precision makes the pointer easier
to control for small movements.
Snap To automatically moves the pointer to a
highlighted button of any dialog box which pops up.
Display pointer trails makes a trail behind the pointer
to enhance visibility.
Hide pointer while typing makes the pointer
disappear while you type to avoid obscuring text.
Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key
allows you to find the pointer more easily.
Wheel tab
Scrolling controls how many lines the screen scrolls
for each notch in the scroller.
