IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed,
including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS VACUUM CLEANER.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or injury:
• Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
• Do not leave vacuum cleaner when plugged in. Turn off the switch and unplug
the electrical cord when not in use and before servicing.
• Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near
children.
• Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended
attachments.
• Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If v acuum cleaner is not working as it should,
has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a
service center before using.
• Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close door on cord, or pull cord
around sharp edges or corners. Do not run vacuum cleaner over cord. Keep cord
away from heated surfaces.
• Do not use extension cords or outlets with inadequate current carrying capacity.
• Turn off all controls before unplugging.
• Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
• Do not handle plug or vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
• Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep
free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce airflow.
• This vacuum cleaner creates suction. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all
parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
• Do not pick up anything that is b urning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or
hot ashes.
• Do not use without motor filter in place.
• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
• Do not use to pick up flammable or comb ustib le liquids such as gasoline , or use in
areas where they may be present.
• Store your cleaner indoors in a cool, dry area.
• Keep your work area well lighted.
• Unplug electrical appliances before vacuuming them.

un porte sur la corde, où tirez la corde autour des coins aign. Ne passez pas l’aspirateur
sur la corde. Éloignez la corde des surfaces chaudes.
• N’utilisez pas la corde électrique où la prise de courant avec insuffisamment de capacité
de courant.
• Fermez tout les contrôle avant de débrancher.
• Ne pas débrancher en tirant sur le cordon. Pour débrancher, tenez la fiche et non le
cordon.
• Ne touchez pas la prise où l’aspirateur avec les mains mouillées.
• Ne mettez aucun objets dans les ouvertures. N’utilisez pas av ec des ouvertures bouchés;
gardez libre de poussière, tissue ouaté, cheveux et n’importe quoi qui peut réduire la
courant atmosphérique.

To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade
is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug
does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.

Automatic Motor Shut-Off
To protect from overheating, this v acuum cleaner is equipped with a thermostat which
automaticaly shuts off the motor if it overheats. Should this happen:
1. T urn off the s witch and unplug the cleaner because the thermostat will allow the
cleaner to automatically start running again when the motor cools (approximately
30 minutes;
2. Check the hose, bag and filters as a clogged hose, full bag or dirty filters could
cause the motor to overheat; and
3. Call a Eureka Service Station if the cleaner will not operate after cooling for
approximately 30 minutes.

NOTE: Dust cup filter must be used when operating the hand vac.

1.To open the dust cup, push release button and
pull dust cup away from cleaner. Verify that the
dust cup filters are inside, then reattach the dust
cup to the hand vac.

crevice brush to the hand vac, push
brush into the suction hole, as
shown.

3.To use the flexible hoses, push the end of the hose into the suction hole, then attach
the desired brush to the other end of the flexible hose, as shown. Only one end of the
hose fits into the hand vac.
To use the carrying strap attach the strap to the connection on the hand vac.
4.The long flexible hose and wands allow you to use the
floor nozzle. Push the long fle xib le hose into the dust cup
opening. The floor nozzle will fit directly onto the end of
the long flexible hose or you can add an y combination of
the three wands for a comfortable working position. Only
one end of the long flexible hose goes into the dust cup
opening.

Changing And Cleaning The Dust Cup Filter
CAUTION: Always unplug from electrical outlet before opening the dust cup.
1. To open the dust cup, push release button and pull off the dust cup.
2. Empty the dust from the dust cup and shake filters.
3. Occasionally rinse the dust cup filters in cold water. Then wait until they dry
completely before replacing them onto the hand vac.
4. Attach the dust cup to the hand vac.

CAUTION: Adequate airflow must be maintained at all times through the cleaner.
Any obstructions will cause the motor to overheat resulting in
permanent damage. See Automatic Motor Shut-Off on page 4.
