IMPORT ANT SAFEGUARDS
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS VACUUM CLEANER.
W ARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
• Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
• Do not leave vacuum cleaner when plugged in. Turn off the switch and
unplug the electrical cord when not in use and before servicing.
• Do not allow to be used as a toy . Close attention is necessary when used by or nearchildren.
• Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
• Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If vacuum cleaner is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center before using.
• Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
• Do not use extension cords or outlets with inadequate current carrying capacity.
• Turn off all controls before unplugging.
• Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
• Do not plug in or handle vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
• Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked;
keep freeof dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce airflow.
• This vacuum cleaner creates suction. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
• Do not use to pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes.
• Do not use without a filter in place. When servicing the unit, never put fingers or other objects into the fan chamber in case the unit would accidentally be turned on.
• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
• Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline, or
use in areas where they may be present.
• Store your cleaner indoors in a cool, dry area.
• Keep your work area well lighted.
• Unplug electrical appliances before vacuuming them.

pas comme il faut; s’il est tombé; s’il a été endommagé, laissé à l’extérieur ou plongé dans l’eau, retournez-le à un centre de service après-vente avant de l’utiliser.
• Ne tirez pas sur le cordon et ne portez pas l’aspirateur par le cordon. N’utilisez pas le
cordon comme une poignée. Ne fermez pas de porte sur le cordon, et ne tirez pas le cordon autour des coins aigus. Gardez le cordon éloigné des surfaces chaudes.

éloignées des cheveux, des vêtements, des doigts et des parties du corps.
• Ne ramassez pas des objets qui brûlent ou fument, commes des cigarettes, des
allumettes ou des cendres chaudes.
• N’utilisez pas l’aspirateur tant que le filtre n’est pas en place. Lors de l'entretien de

T o reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.

USING THE VACUUM CLEANER
1. Plug the power cord into a wall socket.
2. To switch on, move the on/off switch forward toward the dust container.
3. To switch off, move the on/off switch backward toward the handle.
To Use the Crevice Tool
1. Locate crevice tool on the bottom of the cleaner.
2. Grasp the end of the crevice tool nozzle and rotate out until it stops.
3. Then push the crevice tool firmly into the end of the cleaner nozzle.

4. After use, to store crevice tool pull the crevice tool out from the cleaner
nozzle.
5. Rotate back into the bottom of the cleaner until it snaps into place.

HOW TO MAINTAIN
The instructions given in this booklet serve as a guide to routine maintenance. Keep the container operating at top efficiency. Empty the dust cup and clean after each use.
Empty Dust Cup
1. Push down on Dust Cup Release Button.
2. Pull dust cup from handle section.
3. Empty dust cup contents.
4. Clean motor filter per instructions below.
5. Replace dust container by pressing it into handle section until
they snap together.

1. Remove filter from dust cup.
2. Clean motor filter . If necessary , vacuum the filter with another vacuum cleaner.
3. Replace filter into dust cup.
