UNITS
The DU-300 is a quill-type, air-hydraulic, drill unit whose
clean, simple design and quality construction throughout
assure exceptionally reliable operation and long, trouble-
free, service life. Spindle, quill, and piston are in-line. The
hydraulic system is sealed and self-contained with no ex
ternal, offset, hydraulic checks. Drive spindle is mounted
in
sealed, pre-lubricated, double-row ball bearings front and
rear. The \y
extra long bearings. All steel parts are of heat-treated,
chrome-moly steel; the housing is of cast aluminum alloy.
Electrical components are built to J.I.C. Standards.

The DU-300 is flexible and versatile. It may be used in any
position, at any angle. It may be arranged for push-button
or fully automatic operation and its electrical controls
permit interlocking with other units. Available as optional
equipment are foot switch, double-palm cycle start buttons,
automatic cycle switch and timer, dwell control and timer,
timed reciprocating cycle, and skip-feed. Available with
either direct drive or overhead mounted motors, the DU-300
lends itself ideally to incorporation into special machines.

Model DU-300 is a self-contained, air-hydraulic unit incorporating a
3y2“ diameter steel cylinder and aluminum piston (C), a hydraulic
accumulator (dash-pot) (E), and electrical cycling controls. The move
ment of the spindle is controlled by three micro-switches (LS-1) (LS-2)
(LS-3), through relays. Rapid advance and retract is by means of air,
feed rate is controlled by an adjustable hydraulic valve (F).

The DU-300 Drilling Machine incorporates all the operational features and
characteristics of the DU-300 Unit into a rugged, high production, vertical
drilling machine. When used with a multiple spindle drillhead, it becomes an
inexpensive multiple spindle automatic drilling machine.
