INSTRUMENT OPERATION - The instrument will turn on once the battery is installed. Please note: this product cannot be placed within the Aquarium. Place the probe within the aquarium using the sucker or fixing provided. The instrument reading may take a few seconds to stabilise. The probe will measure the temperature of the water. To change the display to measure the room temperature press the PROBE button and 'ROOM' will be displayed.
TEMPERATURE ALARM SETTING - PROBE ONLY - To set the audible alarm, press
and hold the ALARM SET button, the high alarm temperature will flash in the display. To set the high alarm, press or hold the red button on the back of the unit to adjust the temperature. To set the low alarm press the ALARM SET button again, and press or hold the red button to adjust the temperature. Press the ALARM SET button to confirm. To turn the alarm on press the ALARM SET button and 'AL' will be shown in the display. The audible alarm will only sound when the temperature had been exceeded for 5 seconds, and again every 55 seconds thereafter, 'AL' will also flash in the display. Please note: this alarm only works on the probe.
MAX/MIN - Press the MAX/MIN button to display the maximum reading (MAX displayed). Press the MAX/MIN button again to display the minimum reading (MIN displayed). Press MAX/MIN button again to return to normal readings. Hold MAX/MIN for three seconds to reset minimum and maximum temperature memory. Please note: Max/Min reading are not saved so removal of the battery will clear the max/min readings.
°C/°F FUNCTION - Press the red button on the back of the instrument to switch between Centigrade and Fahrenheit.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT - The battery will need to be replaced when the instrument displays display dims. Replace the battery with a 3 volt lithium CR2032 coin cell. The battery is located under the battery cover on the back of the instrument.
EMC/RFI - Instrument performance may be affected if operated within a high frequency radio field, such as near a mobile phone, or if subjected to an electrostatic shock.
GUARANTEE - This instrument carries a one-year guarantee against defects in either components or workmanship. During this period, products that prove to be defective will, at the discretion of ETI, be either repaired or replaced without charge. This guarantee does not apply to sensors/probes, where a six-month period is offered. The product guarantee does not cover damage caused by fair wear and tear, abnormal storage conditions, incorrect use, accidental misuse, abuse, neglect, misapplication or modification.
