This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature. Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.

READ THIS FIRST:
Check the pack and make sure you have all of the parts listed on the front of this booklet. If not, contact the outlet where you bought this product.
This product must be installed by a competent person in accordance with the current building and IEE wiring regulations.
As the buyer, installer and/or user of this product it is your own responsibility to ensure that this tting is t for the purpose for which you have intended it. Eterna Lighting cannot accept any liability for loss, damage or premature failure resulting from inappropriate use.
This product is designed and constructed according to the principles of the appropriate British Standard and is intended for normal domestic service. Using this tting in any other environments may result in a shortened working life.
This product is designed for wall mounting and must be used horizontally this heater should not be used vertically and should not be used as a free standing portable appliance.
If the heater is to be installed in a location where it may be touched or handled, or could cause injury, we recommend tting a protective guard (available from Eterna).
The mounting position should allow the free movement of air around the heater. Obstructing the air ow could result in overheating.
Switch o the mains before commencing installation and remove the appropriate circuit fuse or lock o MCB.
This unit is suitable for indoor use only.
This product is not suitable for bathroom use.
This product is designed for permanent connection to xed wiring: this must be a suitable circuit (protected with the appropriate MCB or fuse).
This product is suitable for installation on sur faces with normal ammability e.g. wood, plasterboard and masonry. It is not suitable for use on highly ammable sur faces (e.g. polystyrene, textiles).
Before making xing hole(s), check that there are no obstructions hidden beneath the mounting sur face such as pipes or cables.
Make sure that the xings are strong enough to support the considerable weight of the tting and hold it rigidly.
Do not site the heater directly beneath a mains outlet socket.
This product must be connected to earth termination.
WARNING - To avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.
This tubular heater is not intended to be used by children and persons with sensory, physical and/or mental impairments that would prevent them from using it safely.
Small children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with this tubular heater.
If you have made a xed connection to the mains, you are advised at every stage of your installation to double-check any electrical connections you have made. After you have completed your installation there are electrical tests that should be carried out, these tests are specied in the current IEE wiring and building regulations.
When rst used, there may be a burning o of excess sealant. This will only occur on rst use.
INSTALLATION  SINGLE HEATER:
NOTE: For better temperature control, a thermostat
should be used to switch on/o.
01) Choose the location for your new heater giving consideration to all of the points above.
02) Fit the mounting brackets on to the tting and slide towards each end of the heater. (See opposite for assembly diagram).
03) Hold the heater against the mounting surface and mark the position of the xing holes.
04) Remove the mounting brackets.
05) Use a spirit level to check holes are level.
06) Make xing holes using an appropriate sized drill
bit.
07) Insert the plastic plugs and secure the bottom part of the bracket using the screws supplied. If the screws supplied are not appropriate for your installation, choose suitable alternatives.
08) Rest the heater onto the mounting brackets and
secure in place.
09) Make connections to the electrical supply in
accordance with the following code:
Live - Brown or Red Neutral - Blue or Black Earth - Green and Yellow
10) Restore the power supply and switch on.
INSTALLATION  MULTIPLE HEATERS:
NOTE: For better temperature control, a thermostat
should be used to switch on/o.
01) Follow the directions for tting a single heater. See below diagram for minimum spacing distances between heaters.
02) Loosen the gland nut on the mains supply cap.
03) Take out the screw at the end of the heater and slowly slide o the mains supply cap, taking care not to pull the wires out of the terminals. Ease the cable through the gland nut as you do this.
04) Remove the top knockout on the mains supply
cap and t the spare cable gland nut. The gland nut should be inserted with the shor t thread entering the cap and the large nut remaining on the outside.
05) Tighten the gland nut securely but take care not to over tighten.
06) Check the length of cable required between the
two heaters and cut to length giving sucient spare cable to enter the rst heater.
07) Loosen the small section of the new cable gland nut and thread the cable through.

08) Strip back the cable end with approximately 25mm of coloured insulation showing and approximately 5mm of bare conductors.
09) Make the connections to the heater making sure that both supply and through connections are secure and that there are no strands of wire protruding from the terminal block.
10) Secure the spare cable clamp in position.
11) Secure the mains supply cap back in position
threading both cables back through the gland nuts.
12) Tighten the gland nut assemblies.
13) Secure the cable between the t wo heaters. Make
sure that the cable does not rest on top of the hea ter.
14) Repeat for each additional heater.
15) A maximum of 1000 Watts total may be
connected together. Add together the total Wattage of all interconnected heaters and ensure the maximum is not exceeded.
16) If daisy-chaining heaters together, the fuse in the spur may need to be changed:
For Wattages up to 600, a 3A fuse must be tted. For Wattages over 600, a 5A fuse must be tted.
