This produc t must be installed by a c ompetent
person in accordance with the current
building and IEE wiring regulations.
As the buyer, installer an d/or user of this product
it is your own responsibi lity to ensure that this
tting is t for the p urpose for which you have
intended it. Eterna L ighting cannot accept any
liability for los s, damage or premature failure
resulting from inappropriate use.
This product is designed and constructed
according to the princip les of the appropriate
British Standard and is inte nded for normal
domestic ser vice only not suitable for commercia l
use and is not classed as v andal proof.
Switch o the mains befor e commencing
installation and remove the appropriate circuit
fuse or lock o MCB.
This unit is suitable for outdoor use and
should be pr otected by a 30mA RCD.
This product is d esigned for permanent
connection to xe d wiring: this must be a suitable
circuit (protecte d with the appropriate MCB or
fuse).
Before making xing hole(s), check that there are
no obstructions hidden beneath the mounting
surface such as pip es or cables.
Make sure that the xings ar e strong enough
to support the wei ght of the tting and hold it
rigidly.
The chosen locat ion of your tting should allow
for the product to b e securely mounted and
anchored to a solid sur face e.g. concrete, brick.
This produc t must be connecte d to earth
termination.
Make connection s to the electrical supply in
accordance with the following code:
Live – Brown or Red
Neutral – Blue or Bla ck
Earth – Green an d Yellow
When making conne ctions ensure that the
terminals are tightene d securely and that no
strands of wire prot rude. Check that the terminals
are tightened onto the ba red conductors and not
onto any insulation.
This product is n ot intended to be used by
children and persons with sensory, physical and/
or mental impairm ents that would prevent them
from using it safel y.
You are advised at every st age of your installation
to double- check any electrical connec tions
you have made. After you have com pleted your
installation ther e are electrical tests that shou ld
be carried out , these tests are specied in the
current IEE wiring and building regulations.
INSTALLATION:
Choose the locati on for your new tting
according to the conditio ns listed opposite.
Suitable for outdoors (IP54)
Switch o the mains befor e commencing
installation and remove the appropriate circuit
fuse or lock o MCB.
01) Prepare the xing surface.
02) Fixing holes must be clear of any ob structions
within the mounting sur face (e.g. cables of gas
and water pipes).
03) Unscrew the base and remove.
04) Feed the incoming mains c able through the
base of the tting .
05) Connect the incoming mai ns supply as
follows:
Incoming EARTH (green/yellow) to ear th
terminal with green a nd yellow wire attached
Incoming LIVE (brown/red) to live termi nal
with brown wire att ached
Incoming NEUTRAL (blue/black ) to neutral
terminal with blue wi re attached
06) Secure the base to the sur face mounting
plate.
07) Secure housing to the bas e.
08) Restore power and s witch on.
LAMP REPLACEMENT:
The light source cont ained in this luminaire
shall only be rep laced by the manufacturer,
service age nt or a similar qualied pers on.
CAUTION, RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK.
The light source is designed to last the lifetime of the
luminaire.
