Installation:
READ THIS FIRST:
Check the pack and make sure you have all of
the parts listed on the front of this booklet. If
not, contact the outlet where you bought this
product.
This product contains glass, care must be taken
when assembling, fitting or handling to prevent
personal injury or damage to the product.
If you intend to cut off the plug and
permanently connect to the mains via a fused
spur or other connection box, this product
must be installed by a competent person in
accordance with the Building Regulations
making reference to the current edition of
the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671). The
Building Regulations may be obtained from
OPSI (Office for Public Sector Information) or
the department of Communities and Local
Government and viewed and downloaded from
www.communities.gov.uk following the link for
Building Regulations.
As the buyer, installer and/or user of this
product it is your own responsibility to ensure
that this fitting is fit for the purpose for
which you have intended it. Eterna Lighting
cannot accept any liability for loss, damage or
premature failure resulting from inappropriate
use.
If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
The lamps (bulbs/tubes) and starters supplied
with this fitting are consumable parts and
therefore may be outside of any warranty
offered.
Switch off the mains before commencing
installation and remove the appropriate circuit
fuse.
When working at heights, please use a suitable
platform.
Do not use the product without the safety grid
fitted.
Suitable for indoor use only.
This product is not suitable for use in areas
constantly subject to moisture and should be
fitted where it cannot be splashed.
This product must not be installed in areas
that contain flammable gasses (garages, farm
buildings etc)
Before making fixing hole(s), check that there
are no obstructions hidden beneath the
mounting surface such as pipes or cables.
If the location of your new fitting requires the
provision of a new electrical supply, the supply
must conform with the requirements of the
Building Regulations making reference to the
current edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations
(BS7671).
The cores in the mains lead are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
Live - Brown or Red
Neutral - Blue or Black
Earth - Green and Yellow
This product must be connected to Earth.
If the plug supplied fitted to this product is not
suitable for your socket outlets, cut the plug off
and destroy it. Fit an appropriate plug.
WARNING! The plug cut off of the mains lead
with conductors exposed will be dangerous if
inserted into a socket.
This product is not intended to be used by
children and persons with sensory, physical
and/or mental impairments that would prevent
them from using it safely.
We recommend that this is installed out of
reach of small children. For best coverage,
install near to the ceiling.
IMPORTANT
- Always switch off at the socket
and remove the plug before changing the lamp.
The plug is fitted with a 3 Amp fuse. When
replacing, use only a 3 Amp fuse approved
to BS1362 and carrying the relevant approval
mark. Never use the plug with the fuse omitted.
If the external flexible cable of this luminaire
is damaged it shall be exclusively replaced
by repair or service agent or similar qualified
person.
WARNING:
Very high voltages are present on the internal
grid of this product, it must be installed where it
cannot be touched.
Foreign objects must not be inserted through
the external grid.
Always disconnect the power before removing
the insect tray for cleaning.
INSTALLATION:
1. It is recommended that the insect killer is suspended from the chain that is supplied with the product.
2. Fit two large hooks or other secure suspension fixings to your wall or ceiling from which to hang the
chain. We recommend fitting the hooks approximately 480mm (19”) apart.
3. Ensure that the chain is securely fitted to the fixings on the insect killer. Lift fixings on each side of the
insect killer to insert the hook through the hole.
4. Insert the plug into a convenient socket and position the supply cable so that it does not come into
contact with the wire frame. Loop and tie excess cable.
5. Restore the power and switch on.
CLEANING:
Disconnect the power and clean the exterior of this fitting with a clean dry cloth
The tray should be regularly removed, cleaned and refitted. You can use a plastic brush on the wire grid.
LAMP REPLACEMENT:
Switch off the electricity at the mains and remove plug.
Release the wire grid by removing the 4 screws.
Rotate the lamp 90° and remove.
Fit the new lamp and rotate 90° into place.
Replace the wire grid ensuring the screws are tightened securely.
Switch power back on.
