etectRx, Inc. Manual for Using the Module
2AL2U-BRCM1078
Overview
The etectRx, Inc. module is a BLE device originally certificated by the FCC to Cypress
Semiconductor under FCC ID: WAP-0737.
Statements and Requirements
The Cypress Semiconductor datasheet for the module should be consulted for all layout or and
programming information.
The original Cypress Semiconductor grant notes indicate that the module was approved with a
limited modular approval. The limitation is the fact that the module has no apparent shield
(Faraday cage). Since the antenna is integral to the module placing a shield over the module
would be impractical. Using the module in different hosts requires etectRx to file a class II
change with both the FCC and ISED Canada for each new host.
The frequency range of the module is 2402 to 2480 MHz.
The conducted RF power output of the module is 2.2 mW.
This module is for etectRx, Inc. internal use only.
The module is an integrated circuit with integral antenna. Provisions for an external antenna do
not exist.
The gain of the antenna is -1.5 dBi
The host must have a label indicating the etectRx FCC ID and be worded as follows.
Contains FCC ID: 2AL2U-BRCM1078
For ISED Canada the label must be worded: Contains IC: 22807-BRCM1078
RF Exposure
The RF output power of the module is 0.0018 Watts or 2.2 mW. This power output is below the
RF exposure threshold for use in portable, handheld, or body worn devices. See FCC
document KDB 447498 for additional information. The module can be used in all applications
except ingested or implanted without RF exposure concerns in the US and Canada. For
Canada see document RSS-102.
Host User Manual
The host user manual must contain wording that directs the user to the fact that:
“OEM integrators are responsible for ensuring that the end-user has no manual instructions to
remove or install module”. Although this module is soldered to the PCB and is incapable of
working if removed we are still required to mention this in the manual.

The user manual for the host must contain the following regulatory wording. The wording below
satisfies both the FCC and ISED Canada requirements.
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC and Canadian Rules. Operation is subject to the following
two conditions:
(1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and
(2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired
operation.
Le présent appareil est conforme aux CNR d’Industrie Canada applicables aux appareils radio exempts
de licence. L’exploitation est autorisée aux deux conditions suivantes :
(1) l’appareil ne doit pas produire de brouillage;
(2) l’utilisateur de l’appareil doit accepter tout brouillage radioélectrique subi, même si le brouillage est
susceptible d’en compromettre le fonctionnement.
This equipment has been tested and found to comply within the limits of a Class B digital device pursuant
to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful
interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency
energy and if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference
to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular
installation.
If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception (which can be
determined by turning the equipment on and off), the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference
by using one or more of the following measures:
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
Increase the separation between the equipment and the receiver.
Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help
Caution: Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could
void the user's (or your) authority to operate the equipment.
This Class B digital apparatus meets all requirements of the Canadian Interference-Causing Equipment
Regulations.
Cet appareil numérique de la classe B respecte toutes les exigences du Règlement sur le matériel
brouilleur du Canada
