Installation procedure Software
The USPH03 requires special software. This software exists of 2 parts. The first part is the Phone
driver and the second part is the phone application which you will need to make phone calls.
• Place the installation CD-rom in the CD-rom drive of your computer.
• Click ‘Install’ in the installation menu of the CD-rom.
• Follow the installation steps as shown on your screen.
• When this procedure is finished the phone driver is installed correctly.
• Connect the USB plug of your USPH03 to a free USB port on your computer.
• Windows will install the new hardware automatically. Depending on your computer this can take a
few seconds.
• After the hardware installation is finished, Windows can ask you to restart your computer,
depending on the Windows version. Choose ‘Yes’ to restart your computer.
• To use your USPH03 you have to install a special phone application (Skype).
• Start your Internet Browser.
• Type http://www.skype.com in the address bar.
• Push the ‘Enter’ key or click the ‘Go to’ button.
• Click ‘Download’.
• Select ‘Windows’.
• Click ‘Download Skype’.
• Click ‘Save’.
• Open the saved setup file ‘SkypeSetup’.
• Click ‘Next’.
• Click ‘I accept the license agreement’.
• Click ‘Next’.
• Click ‘Next’.
• Click ‘Next’.
• Click ‘Finish’.
The installation procedure of your USPH03 is finished and you can start to make phone calls.
Indication LED’s and buttons
The USPH03 has skilful buttons. This will make using the phone rapid and easy. Below you will find
the button descriptions:
Button 1: Use this button to go back to the previous screen or hold this button to delete the last used
phone number.
Button 2: Use the up and down arrow buttons to view the address book. With the left and right
arrows you can navigate trough the menu of the USPH03.
Button 3: Use this button to pick up or start a phone call.
Button 4: Use this button to start the ‘Skype’ application.
Button 5: Shortcut for information about Skype.
Button 6: Shortcut to put a conversation in hold or to mute a conversation.
Start Skype for the first time
• Click ‘Start’.
• Click ‘Programs’.
• Click the ‘Skype’ folder.
• Click the ‘Skype’ application.
The first time that you start Skype, you‘ll have to choose a Skype-name and password. You can
choose a name of your choice but it must be at least 6 characters long. When the name is already in
use by another user you will have to choose another Skype-name.
When you have selected a Skype-name you can use the name in your personal profile. This profile is
optional, and can be used for other Skype users to find you. When you don’t want to make a personal
profile at this time it is possible to make a profile in the future. To make a personal profile you go to
‘File’ in the Skype application.
Working with Skype
Login with your Skype-name and password. (Normally the logon procedure starts automatically when
you have a connection with internet). At the first startup you will see that the contact list is empty. You
can search for friends by using the ‘Search’ option in the ‘Action’ menu or by clicking the ‘Search’
button in the Skype taskbar. You will see a search window where you can find contact persons by
name or contact information. To add a person to your contact list you can click with your right mouse
button on the person and select ‘Add to contact list’.
You can call your contacts in different ways.
• Click with the right mouse button on a Skype-name in the contact list and select ‘Call’.
• Double-click a name in your contact list.
• Select a name and click the ‘Call’ button at the bottom of the screen.
When someone calls you, you will hear a ringing phone and the Skype icon in the taskbar will blink.
Activate the Skype application and choose in the tab ‘Incoming calls’ if you want to accept the phone
call. If you accept the phone call you will see the duration of the call on your screen. Both sides can
end the conversation by clicking the ‘Cancel’ button whitch is shown in the conversation screen.
