INDUCTION COOKER WORKING PRINCIPLE
The induction cooker works on the principle of a coil of copper wire placed underneath the cooking pot. An alternating electric current flows through the coil, which produces an oscillating magnetic field. This field induces an electric current in the pot. Current flowing in the metal pot produces resistive heating which heats the food.
SELECTING COOKWARE FOR INDUCTION COOKING
In order the induction cooker to work the cooking vessel must be made of a ferromagnetic metal. Some of the popular cooking vessels made of ferromagnetic metal are: stainless steel, iron or cast iron pots, casseroles and fry-pans. Cookware made of non-metal materials like glass, porcelain, etc. or metals without ferromagnetic properties like aluminum are not suitable for induction cooking.
