AN ACCURATE PHONO EQUALIZER FOR VINTAGE RECORDS
NO NEED FOR A SEPARATE MONO PREAMP OR TO COMPROMISE YOUR AUDIOPHILE UNIT!
Modern stereo preamplifiers use RIAA equalization to play back standard phonograph records. Phonograph records have been made over the years with a variety of recording
characteristics, or none at all. This includes commerci al releases, broadcast transcriptions and home recordings. Playback of most of these on modern, even expensive
amplifiers is effectively using a 2 KHz scratch filter with either excessive or insufficient bass boost. Many, if not most CD reissues of 78's and old radio shows, along with many
of the tapes o f old record ings in the files o f many collectors , we re made w ith modern RIAA preamps. The Re-Equalizer is designed to properly compensate the output of your
RIAA equalized preamplifier.
While use of a graphic equalizer to compensate for miking, acous tics, and nois e is n ot too difficult, its
use to simultaneous ly compensate accurately for the g ross fr eq ue ncy d istortion of th e R IAA curve
is awkward at best. The Esoteric Re-Equalizer solves this problem.
