Introduction

Thank you for choosing the ESI M4U XL.

M4U XL is a convenient 4-in / 4-out USB 2.0 MIDI interface with 64 channels for PC and Macintosh systems. With M4U XL you can obtain perfect MIDI timing and performance at an extremely affordable price.

The front panel of M4U XL has 4 indicator LEDs for the 4 MIDI inputs and 4 indicator LEDs for the 4 MIDI outputs on the left side. These LEDs will flash on activity of the corresponding MIDI port. In the middle, there are 3 MIDI input ports (labelled IN 3 to IN 1). On the right is one MIDI output (labelled OUT 1).

The rear panel features 3 MIDI outputs (labelled OUT 2 to OUT 4) and one MIDI input (labelled IN 4). On the right is the USB port that is used to connect M4U XL to the USB port of your computer via the supplied cable.

Installation

Find the USB port on your computer. Make sure your computer is switched on. Connect the supplied USB cable between the connector on the back of M4U XL and the USB port on your computer. No driver installation is needed.
