This table has been inspected to insure proper fit. The bed is made of one inch thick slatron. Carefully unpack and examine each shipping container and its packing material before discarding to assure all parts have been removed. Some smaller parts may be shipped inside larger parts. Check inside parts before assembling.
This table is contained in three separate containers:
Container #1. . . . . . One piece slatron
Container #2. . . . . . Contains this owner's manual, leg assemblies, hardware kits, corner & side caps, corner posts, playfield spots, slate shims, glue,
drop pockets, aprons, top rails; playfield cloth, and bottom cabinet.
THE SPRAY ADHESIVE USED FOR APPLYING PLAYFIELD CLOTH IS EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE AND UNDER PRESSURE! CAREFULLY READ CAUTIONS ON SPRAY ADHESIVE CONTAINER! KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN! DO NOT USE OR STORE NEAR HEAT SOURCE, FLAMES, SPARKS OR WHEN SMOKING! WORK AREA MUST BE WELL VENTILATED. OPEN DOORS AND WINDOWS WHEN USING SPRAY ADHESIVE.

Figure 1
1. Begin by opening hardware kit, and sort hardware into "like" groups using the hardware identifier provided in this manual.
2. Attach two wooden leg panels #29 (be sure wood grain faces out) to the inside of two leg facades #30 using six screws #33, six washers #35, and six locknuts #34, per leg panel. Make sure that dimension B is at the bottom of the leg
panel. (Figure 1) NOTE: Leave all four
bottom screws #33 loose until the leg post #2 is installed. NOTE: Leg post #2 CANNOT be attached if the four bottom screws #33 are tight. Tighten finger tight only.
3. Repeat step 2 to put together other leg assembly.
4a. Attach leg posts #2 to the inside of metal
leg facades #30 on both leg assemblies (from steps 1 and 2). use two carriage bolts #18, two washers #19, and two nuts #20 per leg post.
NOTE: There is a set of holes at one end of the leg posts that are grouped close together. Make sure that these holes go to the top of the wooden posts. About 1/8 inch of leg posts #2 will extend below the metal facade #30. (Figure 2)
4b. Once the leg post is securely fastened,
tighten the four bottom screws #33 on the leg panels.
Figure 2

5. Assemble bottom side aprons #4 to the two leg assemblies using two bolts #36, two bolts #37, six washers #38, and four locknuts #39 per leg. Repeat for all four legs.
Figure 3
6. Attach the corner post #31 to the side aprons using four bolts #33, four washers #35, and four locknuts #34. Repeat for remaining three corners. NOTE: Make sure to orient the corner post so that the top of post is below the top of apron. See Figure 4.
Figure 4
7. Attach end aprons #3 using four bolts #33, four washers #35, and four locknuts #34. NOTE: Orient the end apron so that the top edge is higher than the corner post and even with the top edge of side apron when tightened. See figure 5.

The following five steps require a minimum of 2 adults!
8. Once the leg assembly is complete, lay the Slatron bed #1 face
down (pocket bevels against the floor) on a smooth, flat surface. (Laying the bed on the table top carton is recommended).
9. Turn leg assembly upside down so that Aprons
are against the bottom of the bed. Center the leg assembly on the playfield bottom. There will be approximately 10½" at each end and 7" from each side.
10. Place the ten brackets #11 around the table.
Place two on each apron toward the end of the table with the long leg on the playfield. Using a nail or awl, punch a starter hole in the playfield and attach #11 bracket using the holes shown in figure 6 with two #13 screws. Once four end brackets are attached to bed, use the same procedure to attach #11 brackets to aprons using two #13 screws per bracket. Attach three brackets #11 to the bed and Cabinet at the center and ends of both side Aprons, making sure the Cabinet is firmly against bottom of playfield.

LEVELING BASE FRAME
11. Turn the table upright and move it to its final location. This step will require at least
two adults.
12. Determine the highest corner of the frame by placing a carpenter's level in the following
two positions. Once you have determined the highest corner, raise other three corners by shimming using #26 shims (these can be trimmed to size).
NOTE: Table will settle over the first few days following assembly.
Additional leveling may be required.

DO NOT SMOKE WHILE WORKING WITH CONTACT CEMENT! READ LABEL ON CEMENT CONTAINER CAREFULLY!
Applying the Cloth
Be sure table top is completely free of dust, wood chips, etc. Before spraying adhesive, cut a portion of the shipping carton to use as a shield to prevent adhesive overspray getting on finished parts or your floor.
NEVER FOLD CLOTH ON TO WET ADHESIVE. LET ADHESIVE BECOME TACKY.
13. Place cloth on table with an even amount hanging over
all sides of the table. (See figure 8) Fold cloth back on one side and one end. Apply contact cement (provided in the bed kit) to table top surface in a band 4 inches
wide around one entire side and end. (See figure 9) Also spray edges of table top with cement. Spray cement smoothly and evenly, without ridges or bumps. Allow
cement to become tacky.
14. Fold cloth back on to the sprayed area. With firm even
pressure, stretch and press cloth onto the side and end area that has been coated with cement. Smooth cloth down and over edges slightly.
For your convenience, the playfield has been clothed. Using a knife, cut an "X" in 18 places around the bed perimiter so the rail bolts will come through. You can locate the holes by running your finger over the clothed surface.
Figure 8
Figure 9
Spray glue on
edges of table top
as well.
15. Fold back the cloth from the other end and side of the
table (figure 10). Apply cement to these areas the same
way as the other side and end. Allow cement to
become tacky.
16. Stretch the cloth across the width of the table, working the
cloth over the edge of the bed. Make a final stretch along the length of the cloth, making sure to work out all
wrinkles. (figure 11) STRETCH HARD ENOUGH TO TAKE
OUT WRINKLES, BUT NOT SO HARD THAT THE CLOTH SLIPS. If cloth is not smooth, lift and reapply. NOTE:
Rubbing finger lightly across cloth should not make cloth
move or bunch up in front of your finger.
Pocket Cloth Cutting and Gluing
17. CAUTION: It is better to study these instructions carefully
and not rush through this part of the assembly.
Using scissors, make eight straight cuts starting from center of pocket, keeping the upper end of the cuts 1" inch from the edge of playfield. This will leave nine to ten pie-
shaped flaps. (See figure 12 and details)
18. Spray adhesive on pocket edge and underneath side of
table top around each pocket opening to adhere the cloth. Make sure not to get overspray of glue on finished parts. Stretch the flaps down and under the pocket openings. Press the cloth against the cement on the edge and underside of the slatron. Each finger should be fully glued to underside of table.
Please continue on to step #19 on page 7.
Note: If you would like your cloth stretched to
a different tension, remove one side of staples, stretch, and restaple.
Figure 10
Figure 11
Figure 12
NOTE: If your cloth cut is too deep, do not be alarmed - The exposed pocket face will not be noticeable once pockets are installed. To cover the exposed areas, small pieces of cloth may be cut to fill in.
Find the three ¾ inch holes in the playing surface that are between each pocket. Using a small sharp knife, cut a small cross in cloth over each hole for the rail bolts #19 to pass through.

Figure 13
Figure 14
19. Attach side caps #22 to one side rail (either #7 or #8)
as shown in figure 13. Use two nails #17 per side cap #22. Hold nails with needle nose pliers and tap them into plastic with a small hammer.
20. Attach side rails #7 and #8 to both sides of the Slatron using one bolt #14 and one washer #15 at each mounting
hole.
Do not tighten bolts tight yet. Follow the same procedure to attach end rails #9.
21. With all six rails loosely mounted in place, establish the playfield area by measuring from the nose of the cushion
of any rail to the nose of the rail directly opposite. Dimensions should be 40 inches from side rail to side rail and 80 inches from end rail to end rail. (See figure 14) Measure each rail near pocket openings (on both ends). Also
look down the nose of the rails to assure they are in line. NOW TIGHTEN RAIL MOUNTING BOLTS #14. DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN.
22. Attach corner caps #21 to corner of table. (See figure
15) Use two screws #16 per corner cap.
23. Place the sight plugs #24, provided in the slate bed
kit, into the rails by pressing them into the predrilled holes as shown in figure 15.
Figure 15
7
24. Attach end aprons #5 to recessed area on the underneath side of the end rails (#4). ALIGN THE
ENDS OF THE APRONS WITH THE ENDS OF THE RAILS. Hold apron in place and spot the location of
the mounting holes on the rails. Punch pilot holes in rail using an awl (or 8d nail) and hammer. This will
require the help of another person. Secure aprons to
rails with screws #12. (See Figure 16)
NOTE: To help drive screws into rails, put a little dry
soap on threads of screw.
25. Attach side aprons #6 to side rails the same way as
described in step 24. (See Figure 17)
Figure 16
Figure 17
Figure 18
26. Slightly loosen the screws holding the end of the
aprons to the rails. (See Figure 18) Slide corner posts #25 onto the ends of the aprons as shown in figure 15 and tighten apron mounting screws tight again. This clamps the corner posts tightly in place between the aprons and the rails.
