1 READ THIS FIRST

For general safety regulations, make sure you read and understand the safety information for each product included in the ESAB Versoarc equipment.
Installation must be performed by an experienced person, and electrical work only by a trained electrician. Use only recommended replacement parts.
This installation manual is intended for use by technicians with electrical/electronic training for help in connection with installation and integration of the equipment.
Use the spare parts list as a guide to where the components are located in the equipment.
This manual contains details of design changes that have been made up to and including March 2021.

1.1 Meaning of symbols

As used throughout this manual: Means Attention! Be Alert!
DANGER! Means immediate hazards which, if not avoided, will result in immediate, serious personal injury or loss of life.
WARNING! Means potential hazards which could result in personal injury or loss of life.
CAUTION! Means hazards which could result in minor personal injury.

2 INTRODUCTION

This manual is intended to guide a system integrator, when integrating ESAB Versoarc equipment. The equipment is intended for use in retrofit for ESAB CaB units, retrofit of different competitors CaBs and other integrated solutions.
This equipment can only control wire feeding unit, start stop of an analogue power source. Boom travel motions and other motions must be controlled externally.

The installation must be carried out by a professional.

1) Assemble the vertical slide onto the carrier (1).
Then mount the horizontal slide onto the vertical slide.

Make sure that the lever is placed in the right direction in relation to the CaB unit or Gantry.
Assemble the circular slide base onto the linear slide before assembling the other circular slide part.
2) Place the attachment (2) of the welding head on the circular slide. Using M6 Allen screws with washer, mount the welding head on the circular slide.
3) On the CaB unit or Gantry, drill four threaded holes with a c-c spacing of 60mm for M6 Allen screws with washer to attach the carrier (3). Check the hole pattern on the carrier (3).
Using M6 Allen screws with washer, mount the carrier in its position (3).
Make sure that the insulators (4) are placed at their position.

4) On the CaB unit or Gantry, drill eight threaded holes with c-c spacing according to the picture below to attach the EAC10 control unit and the mounting arm EAC10 pendant. Check the hole pattern on the pendant holder (4) and mounting plate (6).
Using M6 Allen screws with washer, mount the EAC10 control unit and the pendant holder to the CaB unit or Gantry.
NOTE!
Attach the EAC 10 mounting plate (6) onto the boom without the EAC 10 control unit (5) mounted onto the mounting plate (6).
NOTE!
Make sure that the welding head cable can reach the connection position in the EAC10 control unit.

5) Mount the bobbin holder (7) on its position.
6) Using screws and washers mount the flux hopper on its position (8).
7) Connect the wires and the external emergency stop according to the wiring diagram. See the "WIRING DIAGRAM" appendix.
8) When everything is connected, attach the emergency stop box (part of the power source interface box (9) with emergency stop) close to the welding head.
9) Perform a functional test to make sure that the emergency stop circuit is working properly.

4.2 EAC 10 setup

Follow these instructions to set up the EAC 10 control unit with Versoarc CaB kit. For information about connections and control devices of the EAC 10 control unit see separate manual.
The external USB memory can be used to transfer programs to and from the control panel.
The USB memory must be formatted as FAT 32 in order to work. During normal use there is no risk of viruses being able to infect the equipment.
NOTE!
The USB memory used with this equipment shall not be used for any other purpose.
Certain USB memories may not work with this equipment. Use a USB memory from a reputable supplier.
ESAB assumes no responsibility for any damage caused as a consequence of incorrect use of the USB memory.
1) Turn the power source interface box main switch OFF.
2) Open the cover on the left-hand side of the control panel.
3) Insert the USB memory in the USB connector including file Profiles.txt with text SERVICE.
4) Turn the power source interface box switch to ON and reset the emergency box.
5) Turn the switch on the EAC 10 to "II".

10)Press the OK button.
Press the back button to return to the main menu.
Turn the switch on the EAC 10 to "0".
Remove the USB memory and close the cover.

5 MAINTENANCE

See separate manual for a specific component of the Versoarc CaB kit.
WARNING!
The mains supply must be disconnected during cleaning and maintenance.
CAUTION!
Only persons with the appropriate electrical knowledge (authorised personnel) may remove the cover plates.
CAUTION!
The product is covered by manufacturer's warranty. Any attempt to carry out repair work by non-authorised service centers or personnel will invalidate the warranty.
NOTE!
Regular maintenance is important for safe and reliable operation.
NOTE!
Perform maintenance more often during severe dusty conditions.
Before each use - make sure that:
Product and cables are not damaged
Weekly
Inspect the slides and other moving parts, lubricate them if they are binding.

5.1 Routine maintenance

Maintenance schedule during normal conditions. Check equipment prior to every use.
