This manual is intended to guide a system integrator, when integrating ESAB Versoarc equipment.
The equipment is intended for use in retrofit for ESAB CaB units, retrofit of different competitors CaBs
and other integrated solutions.
This equipment can only control wire feeding unit, start stop of an analogue power source. Boom
travel motions and other motions must be controlled externally.
2.1Included equipment
Welding head
•EWH 1000 welding head
Flux equipment
•Flux hopper 10l including holder
Slides
•Manual slide
Holder
•Flux holder and wire holder
Control unit
•EAC 10 with holder bracket. See Section 4.2 "EAC 10 setup", page 10.
Make sure that the lever is placed in the right direction in relation to the CaB unit or Gantry.
Assemble the circular slide base onto the linear slide before assembling the other circular slide
part.
2) Place the attachment (2) of the welding head on the circular slide. Using M6 Allen screws with
washer, mount the welding head on the circular slide.
3) On the CaB unit or Gantry, drill four threaded holes with a c-c spacing of 60mm for M6 Allen
screws with washer to attach the carrier (3). Check the hole pattern on the carrier (3).
Using M6 Allen screws with washer, mount the carrier in its position (3).
Make sure that the insulators (4) are placed at their position.
4) On the CaB unit or Gantry, drill eight threaded holes with c-c spacing according to the picture
below to attach the EAC10 control unit and the mounting arm EAC10 pendant. Check the hole
pattern on the pendant holder (4) and mounting plate (6).
Using M6 Allen screws with washer, mount the EAC10 control unit and the pendant holder to the
CaB unit or Gantry.
NOTE!
Attach the EAC 10 mounting plate (6) onto the boom without the EAC 10 control unit (5)
mounted onto the mounting plate (6).
NOTE!
Make sure that the welding head cable can reach the connection position in the EAC10
control unit.
6) Using screws and washers mount the flux hopper on its position (8).
7) Connect the wires and the external emergency stop according to the wiring diagram. See the
"WIRING DIAGRAM" appendix.
8) When everything is connected, attach the emergency stop box (part of the power source interface
box (9) with emergency stop) close to the welding head.
9) Perform a functional test to make sure that the emergency stop circuit is working properly.
