Supplement to F-15-610 - PORTABLE “OFF THE ARC” WIRE FEEDERS
These INSTRUCTIONS are for experienced operators. If you are not fully familiar with the principles of
operation and safe practices for arc welding equipment, we urge you to read our booklet, "Precautions and
Safe Practices for Arc Welding, Cutting, and Gouging", Form 52-529. Do NOT permit untrained persons to
install, operate, or maintain this equipment. Do NOT attempt to install or operate this equipment until you
have read and fully understand these instructions. If you do not fully understand these instructions, contact
your supplier for further information. Be sure to read the Safety Precautions on pages 3 and 4 before
installing or operating this equipment.
1- Disconnect the Wire Feeder from the Power Source for safety.
2- Locate the voltage-pickup lead (work lead). Disconnect the work lead at the fast-on connectors
located behind the front panel. You will be connecting the new resistor kit using these terminals.
3- Remove the p/c board compartment cover to expose the screws that hold it in place. Remove the
two bottom screws that hold the p/c board tray to the front panel.
4- Slide the new resistor assembly in place. (see below)
5- Install existing hardware.
6- Connect resistor kit leads to the work lead fast-on terminals.
7- Install p/c board tray cover plate.
8- Secure any loose leads associated with this change.
