Installation of Second Heat Exchanger For Precision Plasma Power Source (P/N 37357)
Electric Shock Can Kill Or Injure!
WARNING
!
Disconnect all power to Plasmarc
Power Source before attempting any
maintenance.
1. Disconnect power to Precision Plasma Power
Source.
2. Remove right side panel of Powe r S o urce.
3. Mount second heat exchanger (P/N 13735961)
on bracket P/N 35930

4. Disconnect coolant hoses from check valve and
pressure switch. Label these hoses to prevent
error during re-assembly.
Disconnect coolant hoses
Slide rubber grommet
5. Slide two rubber grommets (one top-left corner,
one lower-right corner --shown) out of slots in
the panel.
6. Remove screws holding solid panel. Retain
hardware for reuse.
7. Carefully take out panel.
8. Remove plastic hose grommets from holes in
solid panel.

9. Insert plastic hose grommets in new bracket
and install bracket/heat exchanger assembly in
place of solid panel.
Disconnect hose
from existing heat
exchanger.

10. Reconnect hoses to check valve and pressure
switch.
11. Disconnect return hose from right side of factory
installed heat exchanger. Retain hose clamp for
reuse.

Coolant Pump
13. Install new hose, P/N 90858009, to left side of
new heat exchanger and right side of existing
heat exchanger. Use hose clamps provided in
the kit.
14. Remove smaller nut from coolant pump to
expose valve adjustment screw.

15. Reconnect electricity to Precision Plasma Power
Source.
16. Turn power on.
17. Adjust coolant pump valve clock-wise to
increase coolant pressure to 115 PSI.
18. Check for leaks at hose connections.
19. Turn power off to Precision Plasma Power
Source.
20. Replace nut on coolant pump.
Set to 115 PSI
Note: Check the pump screen filter
located under the large nut and clean if
required.

CAUTION
!
22. Check coolant level and add if necessary.
Commercial Antifreeze/Coolant Will Cause
Torch To Malfunction
Use Special Torch Coolant! P/N 156N05
Due to high electrical conductivity, DO NOT
use tap water or commercial antifreeze for
torch cooling. A specially formulated torch
coolant is REQUIRED. This coolant also
protects for freezing to -34° C.
Operating unit without coolant will cause
permanent damage to the coolant pump.
