E Rider 30 User Manual And Assembly Instructions

USER MANUAL AND ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Congratulations, once again, on buying an E RIDER Model 30!!!!
USER MANUAL
We are sure you will be excited by the delivery of your brand new bike and you will be eager to start using your E RIDER as soon as possible. However you will need to be a little patient as there are some important things to be done before you can ride it.
Firstly, the bike cannot be fully assembled for safe delivery so please refer to our Assembly Instructions below and follow them closely to put your bike together safely.
Secondly, the Model 30 is a registered vehicle and you must register it with the DVLA before you can legally ride it on a UK road.
To do this you need to do the following.
1) Order form V55/4 from DVLA. You can do that online HERE You should also download the guide to completing it HERE
2) Take a note of the Chassis Number of your bike and email the information to info@eriderbikes.com
3) We will send you by return the Certificate of Conformity, NOVA reference, Certificate of Newness, and Commercial Invoice for your bike by post.
4) Post all the above paperwork to DVLA.
5) DVLA will send you the V5C certificate
6) Order your plate. There are some very good online suppliers fror example HERE
7) If you haven't got one buy a motorcycle helmet
8) You're finally road legal!!! Enjoy your first ride.
During the time your E RIDER has been in transport and storage, its
battery will have lost some charge.
Before using the bike you must put the battery on charge. Plug the charger to a power socket and you should get a green light on the transformer. Attach the charger to the bike and this should turn red. Wait until it turns green again and it is now fully charged.
Finally, in case your E RIDER is lost or stolen please record this information to identify it:
Chassis
Number:…....................................................................................
Date of
Purchase:…...................................................................................
The frame number can be found behind the plastic extrusion on the inside front panel of the bike.
General Usage:
With proper use and care your E RIDER will give many years of pleasurable service. The maximum load your bike is designed to carry is 180 kilograms. This should not be exceeded because it could make the bike unsafe to drive and doing so will invalidate your warranty.
The E RIDER can be used in the wet or snow, but braking distances will be longer in adverse conditions and you should take care to allow for this. It is alright for the bike to get wet, but please make sure that the motor is never submerged in water. This may cause it to short circuit and result in serious damage which would not be covered by warranty.
It is also good practice to fully charge your battery every three days in cold weather. If your E RIDER is unused for a long period or if you have a spare battery, which is not regularly used, you must fully charge the battery at least every two months.
Please DO NOT use any other charger than the one supplied with your bike. Also do not modify the bike in any way or replace any parts from other suppliers. We cannot accept responsibility for damage or failure caused by products which are not specifically made for use with the E RIDER.
Operation:
You should sit on the bike to adjust your mirrors and check that you can see behind you from your riding position.
The bike can now be started using the ignition key
To switch on the bike with the key, locate the power key socket below and to the right of the handlebars. Select the ignition key. Insert the key and turn to the 'ON' position. The information display will light up and you are ready to go. The throttle is operated by the right handle on the handlebar.
The ignition can be locked to prevent theft and can be opened by the shaped nut on the key.
On the left handlebar handle you will find three controls
Top: Dipped and full beam headlight control Middle: Slider switch to operate the indicators Bottom: Warning horn
On the right handlebar handle you will find three controls
Top: Light switch Right: Throttle Bottom: Warning horn
During operation you must have the E RIDER switched on even if you are not using the throttle and even if the battery is not in the bike. Otherwise the motor will generate enough electricity to damage the controller beyond repair and this damage would not be covered by warranty.
Your E RIDER will travel along flat roads at about 45 kilometers per hour. It will slow down a little as you go uphill and may increase speed a little downhill.
You should always drive your bike at a speed you feel comfortable with and with consideration for other road users.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Your Model 30 will be delivered on a van with two personnel who will put it in a location of your choice however this is a heavy package and it is probably best unpacked and assembled in an outdoor environment.
Remove the cardboard and you will see that for its protection in transit your bike has been fixed in a steel frame.
The frame can be dismantled by removing the bolts holding it together with a crosshead screwdriver
And the wires attaching the bike to the frame can be cut with a pair of pliars
When the frame has been sufficiently dismantled the bike can be carefully removed and laid flat using the cardboard to protect it
Carefully unpack all the other components
Here's what you should have- charger, mirrors, side stand, stand springs, front trim, front wheel, back box, chassis number cover plate and headlight trim
Remove the front axle, fit the front wheel onto the axle and tighten securely
Fit the handlebars onto the steering column and tighten the retaining bolt
This bolt can be a little awkward to access but it is important it is fully tightened
Fit the remaining pieces of trim, the back box, mirrors and stand springs. Please note that the side stand has a cut out button to prevent the bike being accidentally ridden with the stand down so the throttle will not operate until it is fitted.
Finally, adjust the headlight and brakes so that they are operating correctly and put the bike on charge until the light on the charger changes from red to green.
Congratulations, you're ready to go- but remember only off road until you get some number plates on it!!!!
