CHARGER OPERATION
Rear Charg e Slot : Inser t battery or radio with ba ttery into th e Rear Ch arge
Slot, observ ing correc t polarit y. The FA ST LED wi ll begin to flas h and fast
charge be gins a ccord ing t o the amou nt of charge in t he b atte ry. ( ln the case
of a fully discharged battery, the initial charge is executed during the first
minute. Th e FAST and S LOW LED’s will not be illumin ated. After the initia l

ln the fast charge mode, the BKB 191 204/1 or BKB 191 204/2 batter y will
take approximately 1 hour to fully charge.
If the initial charge on the battery is over 95%, then the fast charge mode will
turn to a "trickle-charge" mode. ln the "trickle-charge" mode, the battery will
be maintai ned at full char ge, provid ed the radio is t urned off. The SLOW LED
is turned on continuously, and may tur n off momentarily every 34 seconds

mode, th e BKB 191 2 04/1 or BKB 191 204/ 2 bat tery will t ak e a pproximately
14 hours to fully charge.
NO T E
On occasion when charging a new battery or a batter y which has
been out of use for a few months, the charger will prematurely switch
to the tric kl e char ge before the batt ery has been ful ly charg ed. If this
happens, allow the battery to continue trickle-charging overnight.
Then remove and reinser t the battery and observe that the battery
