ERITECH® INTERCEPTOR AIR TERMINAL
Recommended General Order of Installation
1. Full installation of the grounding system
2. Full installation of the downconductor
3. Termination of the downconductor to the grounding system
4. Connection of the ERITECH® INTERCEPTOR terminal to the downconductor
5. Termination of the bonding cable from the upper termination to the structure (if required)
6. Raise mast into position and secure

1. FOR FRP MAST WITH ERITECH® ERICORE
DOWNCONDUCTOR
You will need to have the following ERICO items:
INTMKIV-SS
• INTMKIV-SS Air Terminal
• INTCPT-ADBUTT – Connects terminal to
mast
METHOD:
a) Slide the Mast Butt Adaptor (INTCPT-
ADBUTT) over the bottom of the ERITECH
INTERCEPTOR finial.
b) Feed the downconductor through the FRP
mast.
c) Screw the ERITECH INTERCEPTOR onto
the upper termination of the ERITECH
ERICORE downconductor and secure in
place using the lock screw provided with
INTCPT-ADBUTT

INTCPT-ADBUTT. (It is recommended that
some thread locking adhesive be applied to
the screw before insertion).

d) Insert the mast butt adaptor into the top of the
mast and raise into position.
WARNING
1. ERICO products shall be installed and used only as indicated in ERICO product instruction sheets and training materials. Instruction sheets are available at www.erico.com and from your ERICO customer service representative.
2. ERICO products must never be used for a purpose other than the purpose for which they were designed or in a manner that exceeds specified load ratings.
3. All instructions must be completely followed to ensure proper and safe installation and performance.
4. Improper installation, misuse, misapplication or other failure to completely follow ERICO’s instructions and warnings may cause product malfunction, property damage, serious bodily injury and death.
The customer is responsible for:
a. Conformance to all governing codes.
b. The integrity of structures to which the products are attached, including their capability of safely accepting the loads imposed, as evaluated by a qualified engineer.
c. Using appropriate industry standard hardware as noted above.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS: All governing codes and regulations and those required by the job site must be observed. Always use appropriate safety equipment such as eye protection, hard hat, and gloves as appropriate to the
application.

2. FOR FRP MAST WITH STANDARD TYPE
DOWNCONDUCTOR
You will need to have the following ERICO
• INTMKIV-SS Air Terminal
• INTCPT-ADBUTT – Connects terminal to
mast
• TERMLUGCOUP – Connects downconductor
lug to terminal
METHOD:
a) Slide the Mast Butt Adaptor (INTCPT-
ADBUTT) over the bottom of the ERITECH
INTERCEPTOR finial.
b) Screw the ERITECH INTERCEPTOR onto
the TERMLUGCOUP.
c) Secure in place with the lock screw provided
with INTCPT-ADBUTT. (It is recommended
that some thread locking adhesive be applied
to the screw before insertion).
d) Feed the downconductor through the FRP
mast.
e) Terminate the downconductor onto
TERMLUGCOUP using the M10 bolt
provided.
f) Insert the mast butt adaptor into the top of the
mast and raise into position.
3. FOR MAST WITH ¾” UNC FEMALE THREAD
You will need to have the following ERICO items:
• INTMKIV-SS Air Terminal
• INTCPT-ADM3/4UNC
4. FOR MAST WITH 2” NPS MALE THREAD
You will need to have the following ERICO items:
• INTMKIV-SS Air Terminal
• INTCPT-ADF2NPS
5. FOR MAST WITH 2” BSP MALE THREAD
You will need to have the following ERICO items:
• INTMKIV-SS Air Terminal
• INTCPT-ADF2BSPF
METHOD FOR 3, 4, AND 5:
a) Screw the threaded adaptor into the bottom end
of the ERITECH INTERCEPTOR finial.
b) Secure using the M6 grub screw provided with
the adapter. (It is recommended that some
thread locking adhesive be applied to the screw
before insertion).
c) Screw the ERITECH INTERCEPTOR and
adaptor assembly onto the top of the mast.
Secure lock nut where provided (INTCPTADM3/4UNC).
