GUARANTEE
This product carries a Screwfix Direct Ltd guarantee of 24 months. If your product develops a fault within this period, you should, in the first instance contact Screwfix Direct Ltd on Freephone 0500 41 41 41. If the fault occurs within the first 24 months, you may return the goods for a full refund or we will repair or replace the goods if you prefer. When repair is not practical or identical goods are not available, alternative goods of similar specification and quality will usually be provided but, failing this, you will be offered a partial or full refund depending on the time period since purchase.
This guarantee specifically excludes losses caused due to:
- Fair wear and tear
- Misuse or abuse
- Lack of routine maintenance
- Failure of consumable items (such as batteries)
- Accidental damage
- Cosmetic damage
- Failure to follow manufacturer’s guidelines
- Loss of use of the goods
- Repairs attempted by anyone, unless authorised by Screwfix Direct Ltd.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! Read all instructions.Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Keep the work area clean.
Cluttered areas and benches invite injuries.
2. Consider work area environment.
Do not expose power tools to rain. Do not use power tools in damp or wet locations. Keep the work area well lit. Do not use power tools where there is risk to cause fire or explosion.
3. Guard against electric shock.
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces (e.g. Pipes, radiators, ranges, refrigerators, other metal surfaces).
4. Keep children away.
Do not let visitors touch the tool or extension cord. All visitors should be away from area.
5. Store idle tools.
When not in use, tools should be stored in a dry, high or locked up place, out of reach of children.
6. Do not force the tool.
It will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was intended.
7. Use the right tool.
Do not force small tools or attachments to do the job of a heavy-duty tool. Do not use tools for purposes not intended, for example, do not use circular saws to cut tree limbs or logs.
8. Dress properly.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery, they can be caught in moving parts. Rubber gloves and non-skid footwear are recommended when working outdoors. Wear protecting hair covering to contain long hair.
9. Use safety glasses.
Also use face or dust mask if the cutting operation in dusty.
10. Connect dust extraction equipment.
If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used.
11. Do not abuse the cord.
Never carry the tool by the cord or yank it to disconnect it from the socket. Keep the cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
12. Secure work.
Use clamp or a vice to hold the work. It is safer than using your hand and frees both hands to operate the tool.
13. Do not overreach.
Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
14. Maintain tool with care.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean for better and safer performance. Follow

instructions for lubrication and changing accessories. Inspect tool cord periodically and if damaged have it replaced by an authorised service facility. Inspect extension cords periodically and replace if damaged. Keep handles dry, clean and free of oil or grease.
15. Disconnect tools.
When not in use, before servicing and when changing accessories such as blades, bits and cutters, remove the mains plug from the socket.
16. Remove adjusting keys and wrenches.
Make the habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting wrenches are removed from the tool before turning it on.
17. Avoid unintentional starting.
Do not carry a plugged-in tool with a finger on the switch. Ensure switch is in the off position when plugging in.
18. Use outdoor extension leads.
When tool is used outdoors, use only extension leads approved for outdoor use.
19. Stay alert.
Watch what you are doing. Use common sense. Do not operate tool when you are tired or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
20. Check damaged parts.
Before further use of the tool, a guard or other part that is damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for alignment of moving parts, free running of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting and any other conditions that may affect its operation. A guard or other part that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by an authorised service centre unless otherwise indicated in this instruction manual. Have defective switches replaced by an authorised service facility. Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn it on and off.
21. Warning.
The use of any accessory or attachment, other than those recommended in this instruction manual may present a risk of personal injury.
22. Have your tools repaired by qualified person.
This electrical tool is in accordance with the relevant safety requirements. Repairs should only be carried out by qualified persons using original spare parts, otherwise this may result in considerable danger to the user.
HEALTH ADVICE
WARNING! When drilling, sanding, sawing or grinding, dust particles will be
produced. In some instances, depending on the materials you are working with, this dust can be particularly harmful to you (e.g. lead from old gloss paint). You are advised to consider the risks associated with the materials you are working with and to reduce the risk of exposure. You should:
- Work in a well-ventilated area.
- Work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially designed to filter microscopic particles.

Additional Safety Rules for your Tile Cutter
1.Remove the mains plug from socket before carrying out any adjustment servicing.
2.If the supply cord is damaged have it replaced by a qualified person.
3.Always wear both eye and ear protection when using the machine. Ensure that the directional arrow marked on the blade corresponds with the
rotational direction of the motor.
4.With the machine disconnected from the power supply, rotate the blade by hand to ensure it is free from obstruction.
5.Always keep the blade securing arbor and collars clean.
6.Ensure that the blade-securing bolt is securely tightened with a suitable wrench.
7.Never try to cut freehand. Always ensure that the tile to be cut is pressed firmly against the parallel side fence.
8.Ensure that the work piece to be cut off has sufficient room to move sideways. Failure to do so may result in the off cut binding against the blade.
9.Never cut more than one tile at a time.
10.Never cut pieces too small to be held securely against the side fence without leaving enough space for the hand to be a safe distance from the blade.
11.Ensure that the table and surrounding area are clear with the exception of the tile to be cut.
12.Never fit substandard blades to the machine. Only fit correctly sized diamond blades.
14.Let the blade reach full speed before commencing the cut.
15.Do not force the blade to cut the tile.
16.Let the blade come to a complete stop before removing any jammed or off cut material from around the blade area.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Before using your tile gutter be sure to read the instruction manual
carefully.
1. FITTING THE PARALLEL GUIDE (see fig1) Position the parallel guide on work table as shown. Align the holes in the fixing plates with the holes in the upright ends of the parallel guide, fix it with the four securing knobs provided. See fig1. Note: The fixing plate should be fitted on the inside surface of the work table edges. Note: Before use, the blade guard bracket and blade guard must be fitted to the cutter.
2. OPERATING-STARTING AND STOPPING
(see fig2) To start the cutter, plug mains lead into mains supply. Press rocker switch to right to start (marked “I“ on switch). Press rocker switch to left to stop (marked “O” on switch, see fig2).
3. FILLING THE WATER TRAY WITH WATER
(see fig3) Before the cutter can be used the water tray must be filled. When removing machine from packaging, the water tray is stored inside the main housing.Remove it (see fig3). Fill the tray to 3/4 full with water. Do not add chemicals or detergents to the water.
4. MAKING A STRAIGHT CUT (see fig4,5) Adjust the guide to the desired width from the blade using the scale rules on the table surface for reference. To loosen and adjust, use the four securing knobs (see fig4).
Position the tile firmly against the side fence and pass through the blade in a smooth action. Do not force the tile to be cut too quickly (see fig5).
5. MAKING A MITRE CUT (see fig6) Follow the same procedure for a straight cut but employ the mitre guide in conjunction with the parallel guide (see fig6). The mitre guide simply runs up against the edge of the parallel guide. Ensure that the tile is held firmly into the guide before making the cut.

6. CUTTING WITH THE TABLE AT AN ANGLE
(see fig7) Use this facility if you wish to cut an angle. Loosen the two table securing knobs (one at each side of table). Tilt the table to the desired angle using the scale under the table (see fig7). Re secure the table and make the cut as before.
7. ADJUSTING THE BLADE GUARD BRACKET
AND BLADE GUARD (see fig8)
Note: The blade guard bracket should be in alignment with the plane of the blade, if not, the blade guard bracket must be adjusted: First, Take off the blade guard, then loosen the two screws on the bracket, adjust the blade guard bracket to align with the plane of the blade, then screw down the two screws. Then refit the blade guard, See fig8.
MAINTENANCE
CHANGING THE BLADE
1.Take away the water tray.
2.Remove the blade guard cover by loosening the two screws. See fig9.
3. Loosen and remove the blade fixing nut. You will need two spanners, A (8mm) and B (19mm)
-Not Supplied. See fig10.
4. Remove the outer flange and the blade, clean any dust and debris from the arbor and blade securing flange.
5. Mount the blade on the arbor and place the outer flange. Turn the blade 360 degrees to make sure it matches with the flange properly. Fully tighten the securing nut. Note: Fit the inner and outer flange in proper order. They have the different centre holes. See fig11. Ensure that the arbor and flange are clean. Match blade direction arrow to blade rotation direction (wording on wheel facing you).
6. Fit the blade guard spacing plate behind the blade and the blade guard cover over the blade. Fix these two parts using the washers and screws provided. See fig12. Note: After changing the blade, ensure the table guard bracket and the table are on the same vertical plane.

PLUG REPLACEMENT
The fuse in the main plug of your power tool should always be replaced with one of identical rating.
Check the voltage given on your power tool matches the supply voltage.
The power tool is supplied with a fitted plug, however if you should need to fit a new plug follows the instruction below.
IMPORTANT
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Green & yellow - Earth Blue - Neutral Brown - Live
The wire which is coloured green & yellow must be connected to the terminal which is marked with
E or
. The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with N. The wire, which is coloured brown, must be connected to the terminal, which is marked with the letter
L. A 13AMP (BS1363 or BS1363/A) plug must be used and a 13 AMP fuse must be fitted.
