1. Introduction
The information in this manual may vary depending on your Doohbox model.
2. Description of the Doohbox
The Doohbox is a product in which the client installs a flat screen. It ensures the visibility of a
dynamic display and protects the screen from any thermal malfunction caused by the
temperature outside the housing.
The main protection parameters for a dynamic display regardless of outside conditions are as
follows:
- Stable temperature regardless of the outside temperature (in the operating range of the
specified product)
- Air renewal in the screen faceplate
- Absence of vibration
Doohbox protects flat screens during operation for interior and exterior applications. The operating
temperature range recommended by flat screen manufacturers is 5-40°C.
IMPORTANT: The maximum power input for a display screen installed in the enclosure is 400W.
The product consists of two non-adjustable compartments (hot and cold chamber). It includes two
locks to ensure security and theft-resistance of the housing. It is intended exclusively for professional
installations. The Doohbox can be used in the following application areas:
- Shelter, workshop, underground, train, stand, dental examination room, operating block,
etc.
Note: The housing is CE, IP 54 & IK09 certified.

3. Precautions
Important:
Before switching the equipment on, make sure the line it is connected to is fitted with a circuit
breaker to protect the screen, installer and user.
Carefully follow the installation instructions in the User's Manual and take any necessary
precautions to avoid injury and damage to the equipment.
Observe the following rules during use:
Opening the housing is assisted (landscape versions) by two gas cylinders on either side.
- The opening movement of the gate must not be impeded in any way.
- For product handling, the enclosure must always be moved without a load (screen).
- Do not attach yourself to the electrical enclosure.
- Keep the Doohbox away from strong electromagnetic fields to protect the enclosed screen.
The electrical wiring is only accessible from inside the housing, which is fitted with two locks. Only the
housing key can unlock the electrical enclosure. The housing has two PG16 cable glands that can
accommodate a power source and a network connector depending on the installation.
The housing must not be subjected to outside temperatures above 45°C (113 F) in the shade or below 15°C (5 F). To allow better viewing of the screen, the housing should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
Warning:
- Do not obstruct the vents in the enclosure or in the embedding structure.
- Mechanical devices or other means not specifically recommended by the manufacturer
must not be used to accelerate defrosting.
- Do not use electrical devices inside the compartment unless they are of the type
recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not damage the cooling system.
- To avoid any instability, the device must be fastened according to the instructions.

4. First use
The housing is fitted only with an internal circuit breaker to ensure the safety of the electrical
equipment.
Follow the housing installation instructions and attach the screen in the electrical enclosure. Then
follow the instructions below:
1. Unlock the housing with the keys provided.
2. Open the gate from bottom to top for the landscape version, and from right to left for the
portrait version.
BE CAREFUL when opening the gate!
3. Once the screen is installed on the housing, it can be connected to the modular outlet (see
wiring diagram) on the housing's electrical terminal strip.
4. The device can then be connected to the mains power supply.
5. The housing can then be activated by switching the circuit breaker installed in the upper left
part to "ON".
6. Switch on the screen and its electrical equipment.
7. Close and lock the gate.

6. Cleaning
Use glass cleaner to clean the glass and a dry cloth to clean the other parts of the
housing.
Only the outside surface of the product should be cleaned. Unauthorized persons
must not, under any circumstances, unlock the housing to clean the glass from the
inside.

7. Maintenance
For your safety, never open the enclosure without having first disconnected the mains
power supply cord.
In case of malfunction:
- Check connection to mains power outlet.
- Check all connections.
- If the problem persists or for any other questions, contact our after-sales department (see cover
page of this manual for contact information).
IMPORTANT: Before closing or opening the gate, it is very important to check the condition and
proper placement of the seal. In case of deterioration, the seal must be maintained or replaced
according to instructions in the relevant manual. When closing the gate, the water discharge gutter
should be correctly cleaned.
If an electrical component in the housing fails, only a qualified person appointed by Erard Pro is
authorized to work on the device. A maintenance manual is provided for replacing wear components
inside the product.
The housing is covered by a 5-year guarantee for the mechanical part (excluding wear components
and labour), and by a 1-year guarantee for the electrical part. Regular yearly maintenance is strongly
recommended. If the device is opened by a non-professional, the guarantee will be immediately
invalidated.
8. Recycling
Electrical and electronic waste
The device must be correctly recycled at the end of its service life. Do not litter. Do not
burn. Certain hazardous substances in the electrical and electronic equipment may be
harmful for the environment or human health. This device must be disposed of in a special waste
treatment centre. Consult local authorities for more information.
Other materials (metal, plastic)
Dispose of metal parts in a scrap metal container. Dispose of plastics in the corresponding container.

9. Guarantee conditions
The Doohbox has undergone all the required tests and fulfils all the applicable safety
requirements. If, however, manufacturing or material defects are found, Erard Pro will
cover repair of the product (parts and labour). If the product cannot be repaired, Erard
Pro will exchange it or the defective component during a 5-year period for mechanical
parts (excluding wear parts) and during a 1-year period for electrical parts, including: fans,
compressor, condenser, evaporator, heating resistor, thermostats, and contactor. The original
invoice indicating the purchase date, reseller name and product serial number must be provided to
activate the guarantee.
This guarantee does not cover the following cases:
- Damage due to an external cause such as lightening, dropping the product, water, fire, etc.
- Transport costs, as well as any damage sustained during transport, related to the execution
of this guarantee.
- Damage caused by negligence, storage, faulty installation, abnormal usage contrary to or
non-compliant with the recommendations in this manual, modifications, repairs carried out
by persons not authorized by Erard Pro, etc.
