The optional automatic document feeder (ADF) (part number GT10000ADF)
automatically loads multi-page documents into your scanner. It is particularly useful
for optical character recognition (OCR) scanning or for creating an image database.
To use the ADF with your OCR software, you must install EPSON TWAIN Pro or
the ISIS driver that comes with the optional ADF. (See the ISIS Driver Guide that
comes with the optional ADF for instructions.)
The ADF is large and heavy. Clear a wide space around the
scanner before installing the ADF. You may need to have
someone help you unpack and lift it.
You can purchase the optional ADF from your reseller or from EPSON Accessories at
(800) 873-7766 (U.S. sales only). In Canada, please call (800) 873-7766 for dealer
referral. Or visit our web site at www.epsonsupplies.com (U.S. sales only).

Loading Documents
The ADF can hold up to 50 sheets of the following paper sizes, based on a paper
weight of 17 pounds (64 g/m2) and a thickness of 0.2 inch (6.0 mm) or less:
You can also load documents manually while the ADF is installed. Open the ADF
and place the document on the document table. Then close the ADF and scan the
document as described in “Scanning From Start to Finish” on page 46.
See “Documents Supported” on page 113 for complete
paper requirements.

When scanning high-quality color or halftone documents, it’s
best to open the ADF and scan documents manually.
Don’t open the ADF while scanning. You’ll get an option error
and possibly a paper feeding error. Always close the ADF
before scanning or using the feeder.
