Read these instructions before using your product.

2 Open the front cover, remove all protective materials from
inside the product, and close the front cover.

• Do not use the Epson
• Always keep this guide handy.
• Avoid using a telephone during an electrical storm. There may be a remote risk of electric shock from lightning.
• Do not use a telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.
Caution: To reduce the risk of fire, use only a No. 26 AWG or larger
telecommunication line cord.

Unpack

Warning: The product is heavy and should be lifted and moved by
two people.
Note: Do not open the ink cartridge packages until you are ready to
install the ink. Cartridges are vacuum packed to maintain reliability.

3 Insert the output tray as shown, then set it down gently.

Turn on and configure

1 Connect the power cord to the back of the product and to
an electrical outlet.
1 Remove all protective materials from the product and
paper cassette.
Caution: Do not connect to your computer yet.
2 Turn on the product.
3 Select your language, country, and time.
Note: You can change these settings later using the product’s
control panel. For more information, see the online User’s Guide.

Install ink cartridges

Caution: Keep the ink cartridges out of the reach of children and do
not drink the ink.
1 Open the front cover.
2 Unpack the ink cartridges.
6 The printer starts charging the ink. Ink charging takes
approximately 10 minutes. When you see a completion message on the printer’s LCD screen, charging is complete.
Caution: Don’t turn off the printer or open the front cover while
the printer is charging or you’ll waste ink.
Note:
• The cartridges included with the printer are designed for printer setup and not for resale. After some ink is used for charging, the rest is available for printing.

Load paper

1 Make sure the product is done charging the ink, and then
pull out the paper cassette.
Caution: Do not remove any seals, or ink will leak. Do not touch
the green chip on the cartridge.
3 Shake each ink cartridge horizontally about 15 times.
4 Insert the cartridge in the holder for each color. With the
green chip facing up, insert each cartridge until it clicks.
5 Close the front cover and press OK.
2 Slide the front and side edge guides all the way out.
3 Insert paper with the printable side down, then slide the
edge guides against the paper, but not too tightly.
4 Keep the cassette flat as you insert it all the way.
5 Follow the instructions on the LCD screen to select your
paper settings.
