Prior to use . . .
Step 1: Charge
Before using the epoc Reader, charge its battery as follows:
1. Make sure the Reader is OFF. If the Power Button Indicator is green, press and hold the
power button for at least three seconds to turn the Reader off.
2. Plug the AC Adapter into a wall socket.
3. Plug the AC Adapter into the power jack on the back of the Reader.
• The amber battery status indicator will start blinking
• When the battery has been fully charged, the amber battery status indicator will stop
blinking
Note: Initial charge will take approximately four hours.
Step 2: Label
Label the epoc Reader to help easily identify it from other Readers in your facility. Use the
included labels, and place the clear overlay over the label to increase its durability.
Note: Before placing this unit into service, consult your facility’s internal
quality control procedures and regulatory requirements.

1. Make sure the Reader is OFF. If the Power Button Indicator is green, press and hold the
power button for at least three seconds to turn the Reader off.
2. Plug the AC Adapter into a wall socket.
3. Plug the AC Adapter into the power jack on the back of the Reader.
• The amber battery status indicator will start blinking
• When the battery has been fully charged, the amber battery status indicator will stop
blinking

Label the epoc Reader to help easily identify it from other Readers in your facility. Use the
