How to Inst all the Frame Mount and Connector Clip9
To reduce t he risk of electrical shock or injury , and to ensure the safe inst allation
of the Enphase Frame Mount and Co nnect or Clip, follow these instructions. The
following safety symbols and information indicate dangerous conditions and
important safety instruct io ns.
Safety and Advisory Symbols
NOTE: This indicates info rmat io n part icularly import ant for opt imal
system operation. Follow inst ructions carefully
DANGER! This indicat es a hazardo us situation, which if not av o ided, will
result in death or serio us injury.
WARNING! This indicates a sit uat ion where failure to follow inst ructions
may be a safety hazard o r cause equipment malfunction. Use extreme
caution and follow instructions carefully.
WARNING! This indicates a sit uat ion where failure to follow inst ructions
may result in burn injury.
Microinverter Safety
WARNING: To reduce the risk of electrical shock, and to ensure the safe installation and operation of the Enphase Microinverter, read and follow the all
instructions in the Enphase Microinverter Installation and Operation and the
photovoltaic (PV) equipment manuals before installing or using the Enphase
Microinverter.
WARNING: Risk o f skin burn. The body of the micr oinverter is t he heat
sink. Under normal operating co nditions, the temperature is 15°C above
ambient, but under extreme co nditions t he micro inv erter can reach a t emperature of 80°C. To reduce r isk of burns, use caution when working with
microinvert ers.
WARNING: Risk of electric shock. Risk of fire. If the AC cable on the microinverter is damaged, do not install it.
DANGER: Risk of Electrical Shock. Be aware that installationof this equipment
includes risk of electric shock. Do not install the AC junction box without first
removing AC power from the Enphase System.
WARNING: Risk o f equipment damage. The microinvert er must be
inst alled under the module, out of rain and sun. Do not mount the microinvert er in a position that allows long-term exposure to direct sunlig ht or in
a v ertical o rientation that allows water t o collect in the DC connector
recess. Do not inst all the microinvert er black side up or v ertically, with t he
DC connectors facing up.
WARNING: Risk of electric shock. Always remove power from the Enphase
Microinverter System before servicing. Never disconnect or remove the terminator cap.
CAUT ION: When installing the Engage Cable, secure any lo ose cable to
minimize tripping haz ard.
WARNING: T ripping Hazard. Lo ose cables can become a t ripping hazard.
Dres s the Engage Cable to minimize this po t ent ial.
NOTE: When you dress the Engage Cable, adher e to the following r equirements:
l Do not expose the cable connectio ns to cont inuous immersion.
l Use t he cable and co nnect ors only when all p ar t s are present
and int act .
l Do not expose the t erminator cap or cable connections to
continuous tens ion (e.g., t ension due t o pulling or bend ing the
cable near the connectio n) .
l Use o nly t he co nnect o rs and cables provided.
l Do not allow cont am inatio n o r debr is in t he co nnect o rs.
l Do not ins t all o r use in po t entially exp lo s ive env iro nm ents.
l Do not allow the t erminator t o co me int o cont act wit h open
flame.
l Do not expose the t erminator cap or cable connections to
direct ed, pres suriz ed liquid ( like a water jet fr o m a hose nozz le).
NOTE: There are two release-holes in the Engage Cableconnector. These are
not for mounting but are used to disconnect the connector. Keep these release
holes clear andaccessible.
NOTE: When looping t he Engage Cable, do no t form loops smaller than
4.75 inches (12 cm) in diameter.
NOTE: Do not use the shipping cap t o cover unused connect ors. The shipping cap does not prov ide an adequate environmental seal. Enphase
sealing caps are requir ed to prot ect against moisture ingress.
DANGER: Risk of injury. PV module connectors, when energized, may cause
fire, spark or lethal shocks even when the modules are not connected.
DANGER: Risk of electric s hock. Mo dules generate electricity when the
modules ar e exposed to sunlight, even if t hey are not connected. I t is dangerous to touch 3 0V DC or higher, s o never open t he electrical connectors or unplug t he elect rical connectors while the circuit is under load,
and do not to uch the connector ends.
NOTE: Wear gloves when handling the module.
NOTE: Do not lift or move t he mo dule by holding the frame mount.
NOTE: Do not place anything on the module or press on the module surface.
NOTE: Do not drop the module o r allo w object s t o fall on the module.
NOTE: Do not handle the modules in wet or strong windy co nditions.

About the Enphase Frame Mount and
Connector Clip
The Enphase Frame Mount and Connector Clip Kit allows y o u to att ach an
Enphase Microinvert er easily and rapidly t o the PVmodule frame whether you
are on the ground or on the ro of.
You can use t he Frame Mount in rail-free or ballast ed solar installations.
The Connector Clip secures t he Engage drop connecto r directly to the module
frame.
The Frame Mount co mes in two siz es, 35 mm and 40 mm, depending upon t he
thickness (depth) o f t he PV module frame.
WARNING! If you att ach t he microinverters to PV module frames while on
the ground, use caution when moving t he PV module/microinvert er units to
the roof. Adhere to t he follo wing guidelines when moving PV modules with
attached microinverters:
l Secur e all cables wit h tape or cable ties t o pr event a trip hazar d.
l Do not stack P V module/micr o inverter units on the r o o f.
l Handle t he PV module/micronver t er unit s carefully t o av o id
damaging t he micr o invert er , bracket , or connect or clip.

How to Install the Frame Mount and Connector Clip
WARNING: DO NOT connect Enphase Micro inv erters to the utility grid or
energ iz e t he AC circuit(s) until you have completed all of the installation
procedures described in the Enphase Microinvert er Inst allation and Operations Manual.
1. Place t he bracket clamp over t he edge of t he mo d ule frame.
2. Thread t he cap bolt int o the t hreaded insert o n t he br acket, then slide
mid dle channel of t he microinv ert er o nt o the bo lt .
3. Slide the micr o invert er unit o nt o t he br acket clamp, t hen mov e it
slight ly t o the left. T he bo lt now holds the frame mount t o the br acket
clamp. The micro inver t er mount ing flang e should be on the o ut sid e o f
the module fr ame.
