OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS.
WARNING
• The charger is designed to charge and maintain conventional lead-acid batteries only: (VRLA) AGM, Calcium, Gel and WET. Not suited for Li-ion batteries.
• We always recommend that you check the battery manufacturer’s specications before using this charger.
• Explosive gases may escape from the battery during charging. Provide ventilation to prevent ames and sparks.
• For indoor use. Do not expose charger to rain, snow, or liquids.
• For charging lead-acid batteries ONLY (of the size and voltage indicated in the specications table).
• Battery acid is corrosive. Rinse immediately with water if acid comes into contact with skin or eyes.
• The charger should be used on a at surface.
• Never charge a frozen battery.
• Never charge a damaged battery.
• Never place the charger on the battery while charging.
• Be careful not to drop a metal tool on the battery. A spark or short circuit may cause an explosion.
• When working with a lead-acid battery, remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, watches, etc.
• NEVER smoke, use an open ame, or create sparks near the battery or charger during charging operations.
• Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
• In order to reduce the risk of electric shock, unplug the charger from the AC outlet before doing any maintenance or cleaning. Turning o the controls will reduce risk.
• The kit should not be used by children or by people who are not able to understand the manual, unless they are supervised by a responsible person who ensures the proper use of the kit.

• Automatic diagnosis and charge: On power up, the charger will automatically diagnose the battery condition, and then determine if the rejuvenation stage or charge cycle is required.
• Patented battery rejuvenation technology: The charger has a unique and patented rejuvenation feature which uses high voltage equalizing and peak pulse reconditioning to repair the sulphated batteries. This feature is fully automatic and depends on the internal impedance of the battery.
• Automatic Maintenance: The battery charger can be left unattended; when the battery is fully charged, the charger is programmed to automatically switch modes to maintain the battery. It will monitor the battery voltage and maintain it at peak performance with a special pulse charge during long-term maintenance.
• Short-circuit or reverse-polarity protection: In the event of a short circuit or reverse polarity, the charger will automatically turn o to prevent damage.
• Will never overcharge your battery.
• Heavy-duty cables: Double insulating AC and DC cables are provided.
• Corrosion-resistant output connectors
• Output clips and ring terminals provided: The charger comes with a quick connect y lead and 2 dierent kinds of connectors,
crocodile clips, and ring terminals. The ring terminals are perfect for permanent connection to your battery. They are secured to the battery clamps. You can take o the ring terminal from the clips, and then secure the ring terminal to the battery poles.
TEMPERATURE & SAFETY PROTECTION
The charger contains the following safety protections:
• INTERNAL OVERHEAT PROTECTION: The battery charger has a built-in overheat and overload electronic circuit. If overheated, the charger will decrease the charging current. If temperature is decreased, the charger will resume normal charging. If the battery charger temperature exceeds 55 °C, it will stop charging.
• TIMER PROTECTION: The charger provides the maximum charge time for each charging stage. The stage may time out if you attempt to charge any severely discharged or heavily sulphated battery. Once the stage times out, the charger will stop charging to protect your battery and the RED LED will FLASH quickly. If this situation occurs, please check the condition of your battery.
• REVERSE POLARITY AND SHORT CIRCUIT PROTECTION: The charger has reverse battery and short circuit protection. If a reverse battery or short circuit occurs (red LED ON, while output leads are connected backwards or shorted), simply unplug the charger from AC power and make the correct connections as described in this manual. The charger has rm hardware and a smart program to automatically detect the output connections. If the charger detects a short circuit or reverse polarity, it will not deliver any output current.
ECO MODE FOR ENERGY SAVING
This battery charger has a built-in ultra-low power consumption circuit and operates with high energy eciency. The charger will automatically go into ECO mode when disconnected from a battery. During ECO mode, the power drawn is less than 1.0W, equal to energy consumption of 0.01kWh per day. Once the battery is fully charged and during long term maintenance, the total energy consumption is around 0.1kWh per day.

RAPID CHARGE / SILENT CHARGE NIGHT MODE AND MAINTENANCE
Rapid Charge Mode: Uses the rated maximum charging current to ensure the fastest
charging time. The unit’s fan will turn on to ensure a maximum charging current. Silent Charge Mode (Night Mode): Charges at a slightly reduced charge rate for silent usage,
such as on your Caravan RV at night. The unit’s cooling fan is not required. Maintenance Mode: Ideal and recommended for long-term battery maintenance.

CHARGING INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1  PRECHARGE CHECK AND ELECTROLYTE LEVEL CHECK
• Check the battery electrolyte level (not required on sealed and maintenance-free batteries). If necessary, remove the vent caps and add distilled water so the levels are halfway between the upper and lower ll lines.
STEP 2  CONNECTING THE BATTERY CHARGER TO YOUR BATTERY
• If the battery is out of the vehicle:
- Connect the Red (+) battery charger lead to the positive (+) battery terminal.
- Connect the Black (-) battery charger lead to the negative (-) battery terminal.
• If Battery is still in the vehicle, determine if the vehicle is positively or negatively earthed.
- If negatively earthed (most common) – FIRST Connect the Red (+) battery charger lead to the positive (+) Battery post and then connect the Black (-) battery charger lead to the vehicle’s chassis and away from the fuel line.
- If Positively Earthed – FIRST Connect the Black (-) battery charger lead to the Negative (-) battery post and then connect the Red (+) battery charger lead to the Vehicle’s chassis and far away from the fuel line.
STEP 3  CONNECT THE BATTERY CHARGER TO MAINS POWER
• Connect the battery charger to the mains power socket.
• The charger will automatically start when AC power is connected and switched on. (Note: If the Fault Indicator LED illuminates red, please check your connections as it’s likely that the positive and negative leads are reversed. Refer to Trouble Shooting Page for further information).

THE CHARGING PROCESS
The charging stages and performance are as follows:
ECO Mode
If AC power is connected and the battery is disconnected, after 10 seconds the charger will automatically go into ECO mode.
• The green LED ashes quickly to indicate ECO mode.
Qualication – Battery Condition Analysis
When the battery is connected and AC power is on, the program will automatically run a battery condition check:
- Detects the battery’s internal impedance and initial voltage.
- Determines the charging rate acceptance.
- Checks for battery sulphation.
- Senses whether the battery is still connected to the vehicle’s electronic circuit. The program will determine the next stage according to the results of this initial qualication.
• The red LED is ON and the yellow LED is ON (the initial voltage is very low).
Enhanced Battery Rejuvenation
If the initial qualication detected that the battery was in poor condition, our unique rejuvenation process (patented in the US and Europe) will begin automatically. During the rejuvenation process, a high voltage equalizing and peak pulse reconditioning charge is used to repair the sulphated battery. This unique patented feature will break down and dissolve the lead-sulphate crystal built up on the battery plates, and balance out the high concentrations of acid, which will extend your battery life and performance.
• The blue LED ashes to indicate the rejuvenation stage. Manual enhanced rejuvenation mode serves to manually rejuvenate your batteries. Simply press and hold the Battery Type button for 3 seconds until the blue Bulk LED ashes rapidly. This mode lasts for 24 hours. To interrupt rejuvenation mode, press and hold the Charge Mode button for 3 seconds until the blue Bulk LED stops ashing rapidly.
If the program detects that the battery can accept a normal charging current, it will directly enter the Soft Start stage; if the battery still cannot accept the charging current after 24 hours of rejuvenation, battery rejuvenation has failed and the battery is not healthy.
• The red LED will be ON to indicate battery rejuvenation failure.
Smart Charging Mode
Includes the following stages:
• Soft Start Charging Mode (C.C. Mode)
ƒ Blue charging LED is ashing. ƒ Gently ramps up the battery voltage to 11V. If the battery voltage doesn’t reach 11V within 6 hours, the charger’s safety timer protection will kick in and the RED faulty LED will start ashing.
• Bulk Charging Mode (C.C. Mode)
ƒ Blue charging LED is ON. ƒ The battery can be charged about 80%. ƒ The charger delivers a near-constant maximum charge current output. If the battery voltage doesn’t reach the preset voltage value within 24 hours, the charger’s safety timer protection will kick in and the faulty LED will start ashing.
• Absorption Charging Mode (C.V. Mode)
ƒ Green absorption charging LED is ON. ƒ The battery can charge up to almost 100%. ƒ Uses a constant voltage while reducing the charging output current to ensure the battery receives a full charge without overcharging the battery.
• Equalization Charging
ƒ The blue bulk LED and green Absorbtion LED are both ashing. ƒ A proven process that carefully equalizes the battery to restore its full capacity. The Equalization stage for Calcium batteries is automatic. The Equalization stage for AGM, WET, and GEL batteries only occurs if the initial start voltage is below 11V.
