UNIVERSAL CHARGER

INSTRUCTION MANUAL

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:

• For Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) and Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) rechargeable AA, AAA, C, D
& 9V batteries only.

• Never charge NiCd and NiMH batteries together.

• Do not use to charge Alkaline, Carbon Zinc, Lithium or any other kind of battery not

specified on the charger.

• Remove the batteries from the unit once they are charged, and disconnect the charger from
the power outlet.

• For indoor use only.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Connect the AC adapter’s output plug to the charger.

2. Open the safety cover by pressing the “OPEN” button. Insert batteries in the charger
respecting the polarity (+/-).

If the polarity is reversed or the batteries are not suitable for charging, the red LED will flash and
the charger will not start charging.

3. Load either:

AA/HR6/RC6 2 or 4 pieces at a

time

AAA/HR03/RC3 2 or 4 pieces at a

time

C/HR14/RC14 2 or 4 pieces at a

time

D/HR20/RC20 2 or 4 pieces at a

time

9V/HR22 1 or 2 pieces at a

time
DO NOT MIX BATTERY SIZES OR CAPACITIES IN SAME CHANNEL WHILE CHARGING.
See Pictures for how to insert the batteries into the compartments.

4. Plug the charger to a household electric outlet. The red LED will illuminate indicating that

charging is in progress.

5. When AA, AAA, C & D batteries are charged (CH1, CH2), the red LED will turn off after the

pre-set charging time is reached. The green LED will light up indicating that the trickle
charge is on. The batteries are charged and ready for use.

6. When 9V batteries are inserted, the 9V-charging channel LED (CH3, CH4) will also glow

red indicating that the batteries are charging. The red LED does not switch-off after
charging. Remove the battery manually after charging.

7. After use, disconnect the plug from the outlet and remove the batteries. ALWAYS UNPLUG

BETWEEN CHARGES.

CAUTION:

• Never use an extension cord or any attachment not recommended by Energizer, as this

may result in a risk of fire, electric shock or personal injury.

• The supplied AC adapter supplies 18V DC and delivers 500 mA. Using an adapter that

does not meet these specifications could damage the charger or the adapter.

• Never alter the plug provided. If the plug does not fit the outlet, the proper outlet must be

installed by a qualified serviceman. Improper connection can result in a risk of an electric
shock.

• Do not operate the charger if it has been subjected to shock or damage. Take it to a

qualified serviceman for repair.

• Do not disassemble the charger. Incorrect reassembly may result in risk of electric shock or

fire.

• During charging, unit may feel warm.

• Never use as a power source for any electrical equipment.

• Do not expose charger to excessive moisture.
