Abnormal Battery Detection
The charger has built-in. abnormal battery detection sensors. If battery voltage is too high or low, or the battery gets too hot while charging, the charger will automatically terminate the charge function, as indicated by flashing Red LED. Normal operation resumes when the faulty battery is removed.
Refresh/Discharge Mode
With the battery properly connected, press the Refresh Button (C) one time to start the refresh mode; battery discharge begins immediately, as indicated by Battery LED Indicator (B). When refresh is complete, the charger automatically switches to Fast-Charge Mode.
Fast-Charge Mode
As soon as the battery is properly connected, fastcharge begins, red color indicated by Battery Status Indicator. When charging is complete and the Battery Status Indicator is green, the battery can be removed for use; however, it is recommended you leave the battery connected to the charger for another 30 minutes, to ensure a full, or "topped off" charge for peak performance. The charger automatically switches to a small maintenance, or trickle charge to keep the battery in peak condition.
Installation of Adapter Plate
To Install adapter A into the base unit, place adapter A facing up (minus sign on the left and plus sign on the right). Align top and lower brackets of adapter A with base unit's top and lower notches. To lock in place, hold the left side of Adapter A in place with your thumb. Place your right hand thumb on right side of adapter A. In one motion, gently push both sides down and to the left. Charger is now ready for use. See figure 5a & 5b.
l
After charging with the car cord, unplug the car cord from the cigarette lighter socket; otherwise, the car battery may drain.
l
The Battery Power Indicator may take a few seconds to come on after a battery is loaded and may stay on for a few seconds after a battery is removed.
l
The Battery LED Indicator may flash during charging; this is normal, due to fluctuation of battery terminal voltage during pulse charging.
