Plug your capability switch into this adapter and it will control any battery powered; switch adapted device that is plugged into the receiver module. For example, if a tape player is plugged into the receiver module, it can be turned on/off by the switch of your choice. Receiver size: 6"L x 4"W x 2"H. Transmitter size: 4"L x 2 1/2"W x 1"H. Receiver requires 4 AA Batteries and Transmitter 2 AAA Batteries.
Operation:
1. Gently turn the Transmitter unit over to reveal the battery compartment cover. Press and slide cover off. Observing polarity, install two AAA size batteries into the holder. Alkaline batteries must be used only (e.g. Duracell or Energizer brand). Do not use rechargeable batteries or any other type of batteries because they supply lower voltage and the unit will not perform properly.
2. Gently turn the Receiver unit over to reveal the black battery compartment. Carefully remove the small screw from the battery compartment cover using a Phillips head screwdriver, and slide the battery compartment cover off. Observing polarity, install four AA size batteries into the holder. Replace the battery compartment cover and replace the screw.
3. To setup plug your capability switch into the input jack on the Transmitter module making sure there are no gaps between the connections. Please Note: There is also a Test button on the Transmitter module with will activate like you own switch. Use the Test button if you are in need of troubleshooting the device. The Transmitter module must always be
aimed at the front of the Receiver module and vise versa to insure proper activation of your device, regardless of where your switch is positioned during use.
4. Plug one end of the supplied 1/8" to 1/8" cord into the Receiver module device input jack. Turn the receiver ON (When not in use turn the receiver OFF to prevent battery drain). Next set the receiver to 1 or the following 3 mode settings:
Momentary:
In this mode, the unit operates as a momentary switch. The toy or device stays on as long as your switch is activated. One you release the switch the toy or device will turn off.
Timed: In this Mode, the unit operates as a timed switch. The toy or device will run for a set amount of time (1-25 seconds) when your switch is activated.
Latch:
In this mode, your switch operates as an On/Off Switch. The toy or device turns On with the first activation is made and stays On until a second activation is made. This will turn the toy or device off.
All 3 setting are achieved by setting the adjustable TIMER/LATCH dial on the Receiver as follows:
Momentary: Turn the dial all the way counter-clockwise just before it clicks into place.
Latch: Turn the dial all the way counter-clockwise until it clicks into place.
Timed: Turning the dial clockwise will increase the time a device or toy will run. Turning the dial counter-clockwise decreases the time.
Important Note:
The Transmitter and Receiver need to be in line of sight and facing each other as indicated on each module. If not your device will not work. Range of use is between 20 to 30 feet.
