To adjust the Magic Arm:
1. Turn the large black knob counter clockwise until arms move freely. This should only require about one turn of the knob. At this point you can move the arms to the desired position. (Note: Trying to move the arms when the knob is tightened will damage the mating surfaces of the arms, and cause the knob to break.)
2. Once the arms are in the position you want, tighten the black knob clockwise. This will set the arms in place. The arms should be able to handle a static load of 20 lbs., without moving. Even if the arms are locked in place, if a force greater than 20 lbs. is applied, the arms will move. This is meant to prevent injury in case of fall or unintended contact with the arms.
After a long period of usage, the ball joints at the end of the magic arms may need to be adjusted to compensate for wear. This rarely happens, but if it should need adjustment, follow these steps;
1. Loosen upper lock nut (A) with an adjustable wrench, by turning it counterclockwise.
2. Put ball joint stud in downward position, so that it fits in slot.
3. Using the ball joint stud for leverage, turn the upper assembly clockwise until it is tight. At this point the ball joint should be difficult to move.

4. Retighten lock nut with wrench.
Easily adjustable and can be mounted in any position This unique mounting system allows capability switch placement in virtually any position. The adjustable arm attaches to a table or wheelchair using a one-piece base clamp. Infinitely adjustable, the Magic Arm locks in place with a simple twist of a knob. Comes with threaded circular and rectangular platforms onto which most of our capability switches can be secured. Fully extended, the arm length is 20½". The arm supports up to 20 lbs of static load.
Caution:
Do not over tighten the center adjusting knob, or try to move or adjust the mounting plate after you have tightened the center adjusting knob. Doing so will damage the Magic Arm Mounting System and void your warranty.
Care of Unit:
The Magic Arm Mounting System can be wiped clean with any mild household multi-purpose cleaner and disinfectant.
Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they will scratch the surface of the unit.
