About the 828 Gigabit Ethernet & PoE+ Extender
The 828 Gigabit Ethernet & PoE+ Extender solves the problem of high costs associated with stretching your backbone with traditional fiber or a series of hubs/repeaters.
In many office buildings, preferred network access is a dedicated Ethernet line, however Ethernet over twisted pair wiring has its distance limitations of just 328 ft. Gigabit Ethernet requires all 4-pair (8 wires) found in Category rated 5, 5e and 6 wiring. In order to drive Ethernet signal further, one wou ld have to add repeaters to each segment of 328ft twisted pair cabling; this is of ten insufficient and to costly in multi-story buildings. Fortunately, the Enable-IT 828 Gigabit Ethernet & PoE+ Extender can push the reach of Ethernet to more than (6) six times the typical Ethernet distance over existing Category 5, 5e or 6 wiring (All 4-pairs required).
To increase the durability and use of the product providing maximum future technology protection, the 828 Gigabit Ethernet & PoE+ Extender meets the challenge of modern switched LANs and allows you to add features and capacity as your network expands. The Enable-IT 828 Gigabit Ethernet & PoE+ Extender has been tested to provide full duplex transport up to 1,000MB/s over CAT5 cabling regardless of distance up to 2,000ft / 610m.
828 (4) pair CA T 5 up to CAT6 1,000Mbps FD 2,000ft / 610m
* Actual throughput rate will vary on the quality of the copper wire, twisted pair and environmental factors – but you can expect full wire speed regardless of distance or number of 828 Extenders used.

NSTALLING THE 828 GIGABIT ETHERNET & POE+ EXTENDER
The Enable-IT 828 Gigabit Ethernet & PoE+ Extender units have an individual distance restriction of approximately 900ft or 275m over existing Category 5, 5e or 6 wiring (All 4pairs required) from device extension to device extension. The 828 units can communicate 400ft / 122m distance out each LAN port – so placing the 828 in the middle of your run is ideal. 828 units are designed to be daisy chained in a series to further extend distance. Up to (4) 828 units can be used in series to reach 2,000ft / 610m. Optional DIP switch setting for the last end 828 is selectable for disabling the PoE output if installing a non-PoE powered device.
