empress midibox
The Empress Midibox performs a simple function. It allows MIDI signals to be processed by Empress pedals that have a control port. The current-based MIDI protocol is incompatible with the voltage-based Empress control port. The Empress Midibox simply converts the signal from current to voltage.
The Midibox does not convert a MIDI signal into an analog signal. The Midibox can't be used to output CV signals. The Midibox can't receive MIDI signals from Empress pedals, it can only send MIDI signals to Empress pedals.
midi thru: sends out the signal received by the midi in connector. This signal is unchanged by the midibox and is useful for connecting other MIDI devices to the same source and daisy chaining MIDI devices together.
midi in: connect using a standard 5 pin MIDI cable to any MIDI compatible source.
control ports: connect this to a control port on your Empress pedal using a standard patch cord. You can connect up to 4 Empress pedals.
