Reading cards
There are three types of cards that can be read.
Use the reading method which is appropriate to the application and the nature of the task, and which suits the card being used.
Reading a magnetic card
In the direction of the arrow, slide the magnetic card
through the magnetic card reader on the right side of
the main unit.
Slide the card slowly from the top downward, with
the magnetic stripe facing toward the rear.
Insert only magnetic cards into the magnetic
card reader. Failure to do so may cause product
failure.
Reading a contactless IC card
Hold a contactless IC card (e.g., FeliCa) to
the mark (NFC reader/writer) on the right
side of the main unit, and the card will be read.
The NFC reader/writer not only reads cards but, de-
pending on the application, can write information to
cards as well.
Reading a contact IC card
In the direction of the arrow, insert the contact IC
card into the IC card reader in the lower right of the
main unit.
Make sure that the contact pad of the IC card is fac-
ing frontward.
