Power Source
This unit is designed to operate on 4 “AAA” (UM-4) batteries, or an external AC adapter. The batteries and adapter are not included.
Battery Operation
1.) Open the battery compartment cover by sliding OPEN button in the direction of the arrow and lifting up on the cover.
To prevent loss the cover is attached to the cabinet and cannot be removed completely.

3.) Close the battery compartment cover and make sure that it is locked.
four fresh “AAA” batteries into the compartment according to the polarity markings (+ / –) engraved on the top cabinet. If the batteries are inserted incorrectly the unit will not work.
NOTE: We recommend that you use a well-known brand of alkaline batteries for longest life and best performance.
AC Adapter Operation
This player can also be operated by with an optional AC/DC converter/adapter, not included. If you decide to purchase an optional AC/DC adapter the specification must be as follows:
Input: 120V 60Hz AC. Output: 6V DC, 850mA. Plug: Female Type with Positive Center, “UL” Listed.

You may also purchase a “Universal” type AC/DC adapter which allows you to select the required output voltage and plug polarity, and normally includes multiple plug sizes to fit most brands of equipment. Always look for the “UL” listing mark when you purchase an adapter.

Operating Instructions
1.) Connect the mini stereo plug from this unit to your external device such as an iPod®, MP3 player, personal CD player, personal cassette player, or personal stereo radio.
2.) Press the POWER button of this unit to turn the power ‘On’. The Power LED indicator comes on.
3.) Operate your external device as usual.
4.) Rotate the VOLUME + / – control to adjust the volume of this unit.
NOTE: If you connected this speaker system to the headphone jack of your external device you will need to adjust the volume controls of both devices to find the desired level. If you connected this speaker system to the Line Out of your external device, you only need adjust the Volume control of this speaker system. The Volume control on your external device will have no effect on the sound level.
5.) When you are finished listening press the POWER button of this unit to turn the power ‘Off’. The Power LED goes off. Don't forget to shut off the power of your external device as well, if necessary.
Changing the Batteries
When the sound output of this system becomes weak or distorted you should replace all four batteries as soon as possible. Do not leave exhausted batteries in the unit for an extended period of time as they may eventually leak and cause damage to the unit.
Battery Precautions
• Replacement of batteries must be done by an adult.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargea ble (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
• The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
• Exhausted batteries are to be removed.
• Only batteries of the equivalent type are to be used.
• Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.
• Dispose of batteries properly. Do not dispose of batteries in fire. The batteries may explode or leak.
